My tip to prospective students is to apply for as many scholarships as possible and join at least one club once you get here. Also, parking is terrible so if you have a car, prepare yourself to be at least 30min-1Hr early for class just to get a good park; and if you don't have a car, that might actually be better for you since the shuttles run just about everywhere.

Apply as early as possible so that you get preference while applying for housing, more consideration for some scholarships. You get your decision soon after you turn in your application. So, let's say if you apply on Nov 20. You get your admission and scholarship decision by December 5( most probably). You don't have to apply to anywhere else so you save a lot of time and energy. They application cost is only $40. Then, be very carefully while registering for classes. They are plenty of classes you can enroll in to satisfy the general education requirements (core curriculum). The advisors randomly ask you what you like and give you something you may not like. Go to link to browse the courses. You don't have to follow your advisor. Pick your classes yourself. Just learn from them if your choices satisfied your core and major requirements.
