Be patient and be aware that there are a lot of students applying, so the advisors and those you're working with will do the best they can to work with you to get done what needs to be done. The layout of the campus also allows easy access to basically everything on campus, such as the financial aid center, and is easy to navigate once you wonder around for a few days. If you're lost, do not worry - ask around and be aware that there are also bus lines that you can freely use as a student. Also, half the fun is getting involved, so get involved! The campus offers plenty of volunteer opportunities but also fun activities and can help you get in touch with plenty of people and organizations that you might need to get into contact with if you ask for their help.

Have someone navigate financial aid with you. Or really know everything going in and get documentation submitted EARLY.

Look into scholarships. They offer plenty, and even have some merit scholarships. Try to get into the honors college because the advisors are great.
