Sign up for/apply to anything that even remotely catches your eye. At MSU, your relationships will very much be defined by your school involvement. You can always drop out later if it ends up not being what you're looking for, but you might just be surprised by a few organizations.

If you have classes in different parts of the school, and don't wish to walk, you can either take the shuttle or get a bicycle. A lot of people move around the campus with their bikes. Be involved in school, and focus on your education, because college is not something you want to play through.

Be patient and be aware that there are a lot of students applying, so the advisors and those you're working with will do the best they can to work with you to get done what needs to be done. The layout of the campus also allows easy access to basically everything on campus, such as the financial aid center, and is easy to navigate once you wonder around for a few days. If you're lost, do not worry - ask around and be aware that there are also bus lines that you can freely use as a student. Also, half the fun is getting involved, so get involved! The campus offers plenty of volunteer opportunities but also fun activities and can help you get in touch with plenty of people and organizations that you might need to get into contact with if you ask for their help.
