The surrounding area, Springfield, is generally a very cool town. It has a lot of different facets to accommodate the college students. There are also an abundance of clubs and campus-wide activities that one can get involved with.

There is always something going on around campus! Twice each week, movies are shown in the Student Union theater, there is free bowling on Friday nights, athletic games, and usually at least one pick-up Ultimate Frisbee game on the intramural fields. The city of Springfield has a lot of options too. Downtown hosts a First Friday Art Walk each month, there are movie theaters, shops, and restaurants within walking distance or along the Bearline bus route, and even ice skating at Mediacom Ice Park

Everything. Explore Springfield, go downtown, the mall, the lake. There is something for everyone. There are also multiple school clubs to join.

The recreational center is absolutely amazing: pool, rock climbing wall, any club/sport team. Lots of clubs. Springfield is a busy town, too.

Springfield is a much larger city than most people think and there is always something to do. Downtown is great and you'll always see the college crowd there. There's tons of amazing restaurants all over the city, there's tons of nature, and there's also a minor league team (Springfield Cardinals) that plays right by campus!

There are plenty of concerts at John Q. Hammons Arena. There are movie nights held at the Plaster Student Union. There's a game center which includes a bowling alley in Plaster Student Union level 1. If you have a car, go to Andy's with some friends. Pineapple Whip is another delicious dessert spot. Go to the Taco Bell Fields and play some soccer, football, or volleyball, or just watch other people play. Go for a swim at the Foster Rec Center. There are too many fun things to do in Springfield to name them all!

At Missouri State, it's nearly impossible to have a boring day. There are so many different organizations or events going on to be involved in. I often attend a campus ministry during the week, and this provides a great way to interact and get to know other students. Many are involved in greek life, and fraternities and sororities often host parties and events. There's usually a campus wide game of human vs. zombies going on, but for the less extreme, there's tons of green-space to have a picnic or toss a frisbee with a friend. Other students spend much of their time working out at the awesome fitness facilities on campus. You can even watch a movie or go bowling at the PSU! There's always something to do.

There's a few parks not too far away from campus, it's fun to run over and run around or play some games with friends. Also invite people over for a movie or game night. I also enjoy attending the movies they put on in the PSU theater.
