Missouri University of Science and Technology, Missouri S&T, is a 4-year institution that was founded in 1870. The Rolla-located university houses two colleges, the College of Arts, Sciences, and Business, as well as the College of Engineering and Computing, that offer 99 degree programs in 40 areas of study. Missouri S&T is home to several research centers, including the Center for Biomedical Research, a Materials Research Center, and an Intelligent Systems Center, and has Signature Research Areas that involve students of all majors. Outside of academia, the university is home to Leach Theatre which features more than 100 shows a year and features 20 interdisciplinary design teams through the Student Design and Experiential Learning Center.
