If you plan on going here, it would be very helpful to ask older students about their professors and classes. At the Mount, you are allowed to pick all of your classes and professors, and it is nice to know which ones are worth taking. Also, when it comes to buying textbooks, I suggest looking online to rent or buy used ones with the ISBN number, it is a lot cheaper this way.

The greatest advice I can give is to schedule an appointment to tour the campus. A tour is roughly an hour long and explores the entire campus, upon which administration and financial aide faculty will speak with you about scholarships, grants, loans, applications, etc. If you know what you would like to study and someone is available, you may meet with the department head of said major. Small gifts are included, as well! I suggest making an appointment for a random day your are available and bypass open house days. This way, you can get an honest feel for the campus and not royal treatment.

Know exactly what you want to do, and try your hardest to focus on that goal. Try to find friends that you could possibly end up living with, and do not try to spend all of your time with them or your roommate, because you will probably grow to hate them. College can seem intimidating, but MAC has many resources available to help you with your studies. You can have fun, but you have to have some limitations when doing so.
