Mount Angel Seminary

Founded by the Benedictine monks of Mount Angel Abbey, Mount Angel Seminary is a Roman Catholic seminary in northwest Oregon dedicated to training students for the priesthood. The oldest seminary in the western United States, Mount Angel consists of a College of Liberal Arts, Graduate School of Theology, and a Doctor of Ministry program. In addition to academic classes, Mount Angel holds morning prayer, daily mass, and evening prayer services every weekday and attendance is mandatory. Situated on a hilltop in Oregon’s Willamette Valley, the Mount Angel campus is surrounded by ample green space and mountain ranges and the seminary plays a prominent role in the local hilltop walking tour.
