Things to do for fun on campus include joining a Cosmo group, joining an intramural sports team, getting to know new people, using the work-out gyms in Ariel Arena, being part of a special interest club(i.e. creative writing or sewing), or taking part in the many special events that are constantly happening around campus, Check your email and talk to people to find out how you can jump in and get involved. Mount Vernon may not be a big city, but there are plenty of things to do for fun and enjoyment. Join a local church and get involved with a ministry The Premier Theatre is very close the campus There are several unique shops in downtown Mount Vernon. Check out Farley & Moore Antiques, the Clock Company, Paragraphs Bookstore, or Kudos(a local artists co-op). Orange Barrel Production Company and MTV Arts are two groups that regularly produce stage productions If you enjoy walking, hiking, or biking explore the Kokosing Gap Trail, Ariel-Foundation Park, or Wolf-Run Park. There are bikes and other outdoor gear available to check out for free from Student Life.

There is a movie theater less than 10 minutes from campus by car, as well as fast food restaurants, stores, a Walmart, and two Goodwill's. There is almost always something going on on campus as well. Mount Vernon is a small town, so unless you want to drive to Columbus you have to be creative sometimes.

The campus is close to the middle of town. There is a bowling alley, a movie theater, YMCA, several grocery stores and fast food restaurants, and many other interesting things in town.

There are almost always events going on around campus. There are intramurals for normal sports and even strange ones like corn-hole. There is also a plentitude of clubs and ministries to get involved in, including dance and biking.

There are so many organizations that are open to everyone. All sports are free to watch if your a current student. We have a brand new arena, with a state of the art fitness center. Our PSU has pool tables, foos ball tables & ping pong tables. Downtown Mt. Vernon is just a shuttle bus away, with lots to do.

There are bike trails, intramurals, clubs, community service groups, bands, choirs, varsity athletics, SonFest, Oaktoberfest, an available gym (2 in the near future), campus life events, and more! Students are encouraged and invited to get their feet wet with as many of these activities as they can. Plus, in town are many great places to hang out, including the university's own Baker Bros cafe which serves Starbucks coffee!

Mount Vernon is basically in the middle of nowhere; you have to get creative ! One night we plate hide and seek in the chapel, another night we played Walmart tag; it is all about being spontaneous and making memories, that is when you have the most fun!
