Wing Wednesday at the main dining facility is a campus favorite. Murray State also has several cafes spread throughout campus for those on the go or in need of a coffee. The Pony Express food trucks park outside of academic buildings and at popular off-campus apartments throughout the week. Plenty of options for everybody including an all vegan/vegetarian menu for those in that category.

Murray State was voted the university with the best food and dining facilities in the state of KY, and for good reason. As a camp attendee, I had to eat in Winslow. The dining hall itself is large, comfortable, and has a nice atmosphere with big, open rooms and huge, wall-to-wall windows. The food was excellent by cafeteria standards (though it just may seem this way to me because my high school has some pretty terrible food), and even the pickiest eater can find something among the many options. As per usual, the menu got a little repetitive after a while, but I guess there's only so much that can be done for that.

There are lots of places to eat on MSU's campus, so you never have to worry about going hungry! The main cafeteria is Winslow Cafeteria, and it is open all day. They have everything from pizza and sandwiches to cultural dishes and a Mongolian grill! Winslow takes Flex dollars, meal plan meals, and regular forms of payment. There is also the T-Room in the Curris Center (between dorms and classes). They serve breakfast and lunch, including anything from omelettes to pizza to chicken strips to beef pot roast. However, the T-Room does not take meal plan meals, so you have to use Flex or regular American money. There are also many smaller places on campus from which to get food throughout the day, including Starbooks in Waterfield Library, Business Express in the Business Building, Hart Cafe in Hart College, Rhino Rest Stop in Regents College, the Thouroughbred Cafe in the Curris Center, Dunker's Deli in the Curris Center, and FastTrack near Winslow. These smaller places, like the T-Room, only take Flex or regular American money. One thing students always fear is the Freshman 15! Yes, it is so tempting to eat in excess with all the available food and no restrictions.... But, your health is important, so eat smart and go to the Wellness Center regularly!

Compared to a larger university, MSU doesn't have a lot to choose from that will accept meal plans. You have Winslow's cafeteria and the Thoroughbread Cafeteria. Both are good, but I prefer Winslow's. At Winslow's you have the morning menu, lunch menu, dinner menu, and after hours menu, which has a combination of food from lunch and dinner.

Greek life is evident on campus, I am not in one, but my friends who are all take is a very positive experience! You also have a lot of opportunities. But, don't think you need to be in a sorority or fraternity to be involved, fit in, or be cool or go to parties or anything. That was my impression before I went to college, and now my view is the opposite!

Greek life is incredible here at MSU along with unique. We pride ourselves on Greek unity. You will constantly see girls from different sororities interacting in a positive way, most being close friends. Fraternities are caught bonding all of the time on campus. So many opportunities present themselves through Greek life, not just on campus but after you graduate. Life long connections are made.
