Muskingum University is a private liberal arts institution. Paul Hall, the oldest building on campus, houses the music department and is registered on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. Additionally, the Anne C. Steele Center was named for the university’s first female president. The Steele Center hosts commencement ceremonies each year, and houses the athletic department, a 2,800-seat gym, an athletic training room, dance rooms, a weight room and racquetball courts. Moreover, 24-hour university police service the campus.
