Am learning a lot
There are plenty of majors and classes to select from. NDSU does a very good job of keeping classes interesting and very informative. I believe that the classes I take from my major are very crucial part of class and I love taking them.
Am enjoying being here
The wellness center is a great place to get rid of stress. I have made a lot of friends since I have become a student at NDSU. There are always events on campus going on. Very affordable.
Bang for the buck
It is a great place to be, especially in the Midwest region. I love the intramural sports and the wellness center. The library is a great place to study and then come back to my apartment to relax with friends.
Tips for prospective students
A very important thing is balancing academics and your personal life. Sometimes students need to be selfish when it comes to academics and classes. Always remain goal oriented.
Great for these types of students
engineering students. students who can not afford $ 17,000 or greater schools/year. Who just love a great campus.

North Dakota State University is an excellent university with so much to offer. Not only is the campus beautifully landscaped and incredibly inviting, the professors and the educational experience a student receives here is worth every penny. Not the most well known college, but it is a very inviting university that any student can call home and receive a beyond excellent education from as well.
Tips for prospective students
One tip for prospective students is to take a tour of NDSU with an open mind, and to explore your options with majors and find what works best for you. There is excellent staff on campus that can help you with essentially any problem that can come your way. A second tip is to make sure you branch out and join some clubs or programs here at NDSU, there is tons and tons to chose from!
Academic Rigor
North Dakota State University offers plenty of options for a major to pursue, and although I am only closely familiar with the rigor of my own major, Nursing, I feel confident in saying that each major challenges students to their full potential and makes sure they turn into successful adults with successful careers.
Dorm Life
The high-rises are a great option. Pavek, Seim, Sevrionson, or Thompson are all nice options to live during your first, second, or third/fourth years if you chose to do so. The other older dormitories are also a great choice because they are located next to frequently visited buildings which makes it easy for students. The LLC apartments are very fancy and absolutely beautiful.
Food and Dining
The dining centers at NDSU offer students with plenty of variety and the menus for each dining center are posted online each day so you can figure out which meal best suits you for the day. Very convenient, not too costly, and the food is definitely good!
What to do for fun
Attend sporting events! (especially Bison football games), join clubs/programs, rollerblade or bike around campus, visit the Wellness Center to either work-out or rock climb or even take part in one of the fitness classes such as Zumba!
Bang for the buck
NDSU is not the costliest of colleges, but you really do get your bang for your buck. It is in a semi-rural area, the professors are very knowledgeable, and the people are just so friendly and welcoming. A great investment for any student.
Great for these types of students
Friendly, determined, hard-working, happy-go-lucky students.
Clubs and Activities
Tons and tons and tons of clubs/activities. An activity fair is hosted each year, about twice a year just so you can get a real in-depth look at each club and see what you're most interested in.
Campus Safety
Top-notch.

The engineering program here is one of the best in the country! Employers will seek out NDSU students just for going here!
Am enjoying being here
The people in Fargo are wonderful, the community is welcoming and safe. Its got that small town feel with just enough of the city life.
Bang for the buck
Its much cheaper than my alternative choices, making it worth a look!
Tips for prospective students
Join Greek life! Seriously, It changed my life FOREVER and made me into the leader I am today. I owe so much of my success to my Fraternity, Theta Chi. Be willing to step out of your comfort zone and meet new people and accept other ways of life.

Am learning a lot
Many of my teachers made themselves available to help any time I needed it. Or if they weren't available at the time I needed, I could always count on tutors to help me out. Many of my teachers knew of great extent what they were talking about, and a few tried to make it fun for the students, which I loved !
Am enjoying being here
The area that NDSU is located is great! Just a short walk across campus, I am able to get my work out on at the Wellness Center, for free! The area has a lot of great restaurants located around it, and is only a 10 minute drive from the mall. It's really a beautiful campus, whether it's winter or spring.
Bang for the buck
Compared to other colleges and universities, NDSU is a great deal! They really provide you with so many free things, you can't even imagine. The education you get there is really worth your money your spending. Just because it seems like a lot of money now, in the long run it will really help out with your future.
Tips for prospective students
Do not procrastinate, and study a lot! Staying on top of things was crucial for my first year, and procrastinating makes things so much harder. Next, if you are trying to decide on bringing your vehicle, do it! You might end up having a few classes downtown, and having a car was really a lot better than riding the bus, plus you don't have to bum rides from your friends when you want to get around.
Great for these types of students
I know that NDSU has a great pharmacy program, and I'm not even a pharmacy major! I also know that it has a very competitive architecture and landscape architecture program, but each year they only accept around 60 students to get into the architecture program, and about 20 students for the landscape architecture program, so if you're contemplating that, really keep up on your school work and deadlines!

North Dakota State University is a place with diversity, modernity, and close-knit community. There is never a dull moment and activities can be found for everyone. NDSU is your home away from home!
Tips for prospective students
Tour campus!! I guarantee you will fall in love! The staff do a great job of keeping up the grounds and the actual campus has a lot of neat history. Also, attend a Bison game; it's a great way to get a feel for the school pride we have!
Academic Rigor
The classes are not that challenging if you put the time and effort in. Professors are really good about setting forth their expectations and being available if you need any help. You definitely feel like you are getting your money's worth for your education.
Dorm Life
There are always events going on; you can never get bored with the different contests, study groups, chill-out sessions, and more! The RA's are helpful and everyone is super friendly! Even the janitors in the morning look to make your day better with a smile and a friendly chat!
Food and Dining
Between the three dining centers (each equipped with a grill, sandwich/salad bar, and breakfast area) you never go hungry. The hot lunches are good with a lot of variety, and if you don't like what they are serving, you can make whatever you like! The dining centers also have a modern vibe to them; you don't feel like you are in a cafeteria.
What to do for fun
Fargo-Moorhead is an amazing community! There is always an event going on between the two cities and campus is located right by the Fargodome. Downtown Fargo has a ton of little shops and businesses. The area is full of stores, restaurants, and recreational activities. On campus, Residence life puts on events every weekend and shows free movies in the Union! Several of the sororities and fraternities always have events taking place too!
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus
Bison game days. One of the greatest traditions you can partake in! They don't exaggerate the Bison pride we have! And if you need to brighten your day, open your window or hang around outside. A student carries a boombox around campus and blasts all kinds of music. Boombox guy is kind of a legend around here!
Great for these types of students
All kinds! I've met so many different people who all feel at home here.
Clubs and Activities
You would not believe all the clubs that are available! For any interest you have, they have something, and if they don't, it's as easy as gathering five people together and creating one! From checkers to gaming to just meeting and eating donuts, they have something for everyone!
Campus Safety
Campus police make themselves known and are really friendly, and the campus is also well-lit.

great campus! great people! not much to do outside of campus though.
Tips for prospective students
talk to everyone you possibly can and ask as many questions as possible. don't get discouraged if someone shoots you down. it rarely happens and you just met the one bad apple out of a thousand good ones. this will not only get you aquanited to college but will give you friends and other's experiences to learn from.
Academic Rigor
general ed classes are about as much as you can expect them to be. the sciences do a decent job keeping your interest and the math classes are pretty tough. the nice thing about it is there seems to always be someone somewhere available to help. if you really want help you will be able to find someone. even if that person is fron a completely different department they are willing to help you out. the majority of staff here at ndsu are really nice.
Dorm Life
dorms are small but nice. the free laundry and attatched dining centers make it worth it. watch out for their pairing system. they seem to have poor luck with matching people together.
Food and Dining
actually really good variety of foods and options. they shut down really early in the evening so there is no chance to snack and you can't bring food back to your dorm. but they are fast acting when it comes to requests and suggestions.
What to do for fun
there are a few campus activities but not much. which is ok if you are like me and taking a million classes that require studying. most of the time it is watching a free movie at the union or working out with friends at their amazing (free for students!) wellness center. they have zumba!! and rock climbing, and indoor tracks.
Bang for the buck
free movies in the memorial union every week. and most of them are really recent or really good. free bus rides for students to walmart and the mall (whichever you prefer :-) ) free wellness center and classes for students. free laundry for those living in dorms. and an almost endless buffet of food for those on the meal plan. always someone somewhere on campus giving away free t-shirts. free doctor appointments and visits at wellness center. internet service. cheap price for credits when a lot of classes have one on one with the teacher (meaning you will learn and probably retain more information).
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus
tunnels above and below ground connecting buildings because it gets soooo cold here. last week it was -26*f with an additional wind chill. yep. i used the tunnels.
Great for these types of students
want to learn with a one on one atmosphere and get to know their teachers.
Clubs and Activities
too many to count. you name they probably have it. just the other day heard somone talking about a boardgame club. my friend and i have been on rugby and coed football teams.
Campus Safety
feel pretty safe. always see the patrol people mulling around campus 24/7. you can even flag them down or call them and they will give you an escorted ride back to dorm without questions.

Am learning a lot
The teachers and TAs you will have here are very helpful. I was worried at first that I would just become a number when I came to such a big school as NDSU, but the teachers know my name and major. It is so much easier to learn when you know that the teachers actually care.
Am enjoying being here
There is so much stuff to do here on campus. I got into one of the high-risers for my first year and I am loving it. It's like its own little community and there is lots of stuff to do with just your floors as well.
Bang for the buck
NDSU is a school that is well worth its money.

Am learning a lot
There a lot of courses that are offered at NDSU and all of them have high quality professors that know their stuff. If you like to learn in lecture halls, small classrooms, abroad or hands on NDSU has it. The professors really work with you too and set up review sessions.
Am enjoying being here
The Fargo area is a beautiful place along with the NDSU campus, and everything is easy to get to with free student busing. There are a lot of clubs and activities to do too, if you're not into that stuff there is the wellness center to get a good work out. The Fargo dome football games are also enjoyable and free for students.
Bang for the buck
At NDSU you get your money's worth from the free busing and all the sport events that NDSU puts on. The food is good and there are three dining centers. It offers a great education for a great price.
Tips for prospective students
Take a tour, it's worth it. You'll never really get the feel unless you come and see the campus for yourself. Don't be afraid to ask question and talk with the professors in charge of the department you want to go in, even if you don't know that's still okay. Most importantly don't be afraid to get involved and meet new people.
Great for these types of students
Honestly, it is great for any student no matter what the age. If you like sport, getting involved, parties, live music, movies, inflatable games, wellness, school, or international studies NDSU has it all.

Will learn a lot
I believe that I will learn a lot by trying my hardest and keeping up my good work I've been doing in high school.
Will enjoy being here
I do think I will enjoy being here because I love going to Fargo as it is and I have been to tour the college and I loved it. Everything I've heard about this school has been positive, which makes me even more excited to go to this college.
Bang for the buck
The money you pay will be worth it in the long run. Just as long as you try as hard as you can, then you can succeed and make enough money to pay off any money you borrowed. I believe its worth spending money on college, because college will be very beneficial later in life.
Great for these types of students
This college is not just for specific students. If you are not sure what you are going into, then go here and take some generals and find out what you want to be. Then go from there.
