There is only microwave available for students, and there is an unwritten code that it is to be treated with the upmost respect by everybody.

    Bang for the buck

The quality of staff, location, campus size, parking convenience, and campus amenities, plus the overall cost make this an exceptional college to attend.

    Campus Safety

I feel like the campus is very safe. There are always security on staff if you need help or need to inform them about something. If you need to have someone walk you to your car because of a late class or stayed late, they will always assist you and help you out.

    Clubs and Activities

There are things to do all the time. Clubs or activities are always posted on the walls and bullion boards around the campus.

Great for these types of students

People who like the idea of a smaller campus. Students who want more one on one time with teachers/professors. This is the school for people who want to be able to have the full college experience but without all the big college issues.

    Food and Dining

In the student center there are a few places to eat or a convenient store to get food or a quick snack. It can sometimes be packed and the places to eat close around 2pm. There are places just down the road from the college to eat too.

    Dorm Life

There are no dorms on campus, but on the website nwacc.edu you can look under future students, then go to off-campus housing and look at places they would recommend if you want to live near the campus.

    Academic Rigor

Classes here are not made to make it impossible for you to pass. Professors expect students to do their best and to try to succeed. The professors cover what you need to know and generally do not expect you to teach yourself. This makes things a little easier. Exams are difficult at times, but if you put the time into studying and reading the chapters, you will be fine. NWACC is not a extremely difficult school, if you just try you will pass.

    Tips for prospective students

Join the clubs on campus, they have a wide range of different kinds so there is always something to do. Make friends and be yourself, at NWACC it is easy to make friends. Classes are small so get involved, talk to your classmates and professor/teacher anytime you need help. Just enjoy your time here! :)

    In three sentences

Very good college, very friendly, and open. It is a small school and easy to get around campus. The teachers are very understanding and good at what they do.

    Dorm Life

There are not dorms at NWACC, a lot of students share an apartment in Rogers or still live at home. If you can try staying at home to save you even more money.

    Academic Rigor

Some professors are very challenging at NWACC, but at the same time some are loosely goosed and will do anything to make sure you pass if you're trying. With any school always use rate my professor.com to make sure you're making wise professor choices .

there is currently a section of railroad track on campus that doesn't get traffic and is some actions to it being removed. this is where a lot of people go to smoke since it is a smoke free campus.

    Campus Safety

This campus is extremely safe. There is security that patrols the parking lots along with a number of security in the building. Since I have been at this school there have been no issues of any kind that have arisen.

    Greek Life

The school itself does not have any Greek life, but some of the University Greeks open up their activities to Northwest Arkansas Community College students.

    Clubs and Activities

Clubs at this school range from religious to athletic. Along with these clubs the school also participates with the local community blood center and they house multiple blood donations.

Great for these types of students

There are no unusual traditions so there is nothing great for these students.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

There are not unusual traditions or locations on campus.

    Bang for the buck

The courses you get at this school transfer to the university and are only about half of the cost. In addition to paying less for the material, the class size offers a more personal education. You are able to ask questions and get the answers. Overall you get what you pay for.

    What to do for fun

The school has a game room that is available to the students. It includes pool tables and things like that. A lot of people that play musical instruments sit around and play in this room. The school also offers a wide array of club sports. These club sports range from bowling and golf, to basketball and ball room dancing.

    Food and Dining

On campus there is a section that is similar to a gas station. There are drinks and snacks available for purchase in this area. The dining area has a variety of food, which includes chick-fil-a. The dining area houses about three restaurants so if you are looking for variety it might not be that great.

    Dorm Life

Unlike the University of Arkansas, there is no dorm life for the community college. You are free to live where you please, but you still have to be able to make the commute to class. For instance, in my classes I have had people from Farmington and Siloam Springs. They drive to the school every day. I live in an apartment down the street from the school, which I find to be very beneficial because being late is not an issue.

    Academic Rigor

The school itself offers quite a range of classes. Some of them range from basic and intermediate classes for those who struggle in a subject or for those that have been out of school for some time. The school offers a honors program that houses a more rigorous set of demands. Just like in high school, you are free to choose honor classes if you want, but if that is not your cup of tea you can take the normal classes in order to meet your degree requirements.

    Tips for prospective students

I recommend that you stay on top of your assignments when you enroll in classes. Although there is an advising staff at the school, I found that they tend to be a bit overwhelmed at times and will only answer questions upon appointment, so don't try to email them for an answer. When you enroll in the classes make sure you get your finances in order. If you have a scholarship make sure you understand the rules and conditions for keeping them. If you are paying out of pocket I recommend the payment plans if that works best for you. Stay on top of your grades and finances, and make sure you have all the proper paperwork submitted (shot records, transcript, etc.). To avoid getting a hold on your account keep track of everything. A hold will keep you from registering. Just be responsible and your time at this school will be pleasant and beneficial.

    In three sentences

Northwest Arkansas Community College is a great alternative when it comes to earning college credit at a cheaper tuition price than the University of Arkansas. Just like any other school there are some issues when it comes to juggling the number of students and communicating with members in charge of certain departments. This school is a good first step on the path of furthering your education, whether it is as a stepping stone on the way to a bigger school or if you just plan on getting your associates.

    Campus Safety

The safety at the campus is great. There are many security officers throughout campus and most of them within a semester you will know by name. They are extremely friendly and willing to help when needed. If you go to classes at night and you happen to park way out in no mans land then you can always get someone to make sure you get to your car okay without any hesitations.

    Clubs and Activities

NWACC has several clubs and activities throughout the semester. There are clubs for everyone whether you like philosophy, writing, reading, drama, or even eating. They have a day at the beginning of every semester where all the clubs get together in the Student Center so that the students can go around and see what each group is doing and what they are about so that they have an idea what they would like to do. Also there is no limit you can join as many as you want.

Great for these types of students

NWACC is a wonderful location for people who have been out of school for a while since the classes are small and their is more one on one it gives you a chance to get back in the groove of things. This school is also extremely helpful for single parents and has several programs to help them during their time here. No one can say that this school is not meant for them they help in so many different ways that it is hard to pick just one type of student.

    What to do for fun

This school has always kept fun in the program. Throughout each semester there is always something going on in the Student Center, free food, games, and music. These are the things that go on during the day and then you also get the night things like, Halloween get together that is family friendly. There are also times when they will get local bands to perform at Bogle Plaza for the students entertainment during these special events.

    Food and Dining

The food and dining has gone through a reformation this past year and I cannot say that it is for the better. You have Blazing Burrito, which is good but pricey, and then you have Chick-Fil-A and Silver Joe's Coffee. I would not recommend the last two listed. However you are within walking distance to Sonic, Subway, Arby's, and a grocery store for the veggie needs.

    Academic Rigor

The classes at NWACC are small and make it easier for the students to understand and get the help that they need to succeed. The professors are great when it comes to helping out their students and helping them to understand what is going on, and with algebra that can be a great asset. This is a program that no matter what path you are on there is always someone there to help you where it is needed academically and they always give you that push you need.

    Tips for prospective students

The best tip that I can give is that no matter how you are going in, whether undecided or decided, there are always ideas and creativity here to the point of getting where you need to be. Your adviser is your best friend and they will listen and help you through any transition or questions that you may have.

    In three sentences

NWACC is a great and caring environment that is great for anyone. The professors are always ready to help and push the students towards their goals and to even figure out those goals when needed. This community college is one of the most down to earth and hospitable settings that I have encountered since moving to Arkansas.

I have always felt safe at NWACC. Campus security is located at the entrance of the school and always available for assistance.

    Clubs and Activities

NWACC has a girls' softball team.

Great for these types of students

NWACC is great for students who need an easy transition from high school to a 4 year college. It is also good for students who are undecided about their major.

    Bang for the buck

Compared to other schools, NWACC provides the best education for the lowest cost.

    What to do for fun

NWACC is in an unique location. It is easily accessible to everything in Northwest Arkansas. From the school, you are only minutes away from shopping and dinning. If you enjoy the arts, then check out the Crystal Bridges Museum or the Walton Art's Center.

    Food and Dining

Chik-fil-a has just been added to the food court.

    Dorm Life

    There is no dorm.

    Academic Rigor

While it is challenging, it is a good transition from high school to a four year college or univeristy. The teachers really are concerned about the success of the students.

    Tips for prospective students

Take advantage of all the resources that NWACC provides. For example, use the writing center. Know that the school is here to help you.

Northwest Arkansas Community College is a GREAT SCHOOL!!! The small classes are better for student/teacher ratios. I feel like the teachers are really interested in me.

    Campus Safety

Always on the look out for anything and everything.... we have campus security and campus police on site. Together, they ensure our safety.

    Clubs and Activities

Loads of fun here! Finals week was sponsored by one of the clubs on campus. They provided greatly needed stress relief by having a pet a puppy event and a free massage event. All of the students loved it!

Great for these types of students

We have a great mix of young freshman students and older, non-traditional students. No one is looked down upon for their age. If anything, it's just school as usual.

    Bang for the buck

Parking! The fees are covered by your tuition so there is no daily parking fee to pay. There is a huge, multi-level parking garage in addition to the usual parking lot.

    What to do for fun

There's tons of stuff going on at various times of the year; usually put on by the clubs on campus.

    Food and Dining

They have a coffee shop, a mexican place and a Chic-a-fila. Honestly, the coffee shop and the mexican place that they have on campus have the best food. The chic-a-fila .... is, well.... disappointing in both their food selection and quality.

    Dorm Life

Sadly, there are no dorms. :( But there's tons of off-campus housing.

    Academic Rigor

It really depends on the instructor. Some are easier than others, but with regular studying - most students do really well.

    Tips for prospective students

Talk to an academic adviser - even if you know what your classes should be.... it's better to double check that you're on the right track than not. If you need a note-taker or other accommodations, check in with the disability services office. They are super friendly and will help you get what you need.

    In three sentences

They really do help you - just ask! If the staff don't know the answer, they will find it for you - just drop by the student center! I really enjoy going to school here.

I have never had anything stole or felt unsafe here at any time.

    Clubs and Activities

There are many clubs related to the school and every once in a while they all get together and organize events and parties.

    Bang for the buck

It's a fun and inexpensive way to take care of classes you would be paying double or triple for at a 4 year institution.

    What to do for fun

There is a student game room where people like to hang out, it can be very fun sometimes.

    Food and Dining

The food isn't horrible but it is overpriced.

    Academic Rigor

Don't expect to get away with not reading but for the most part the classes are pretty straight forward.

    Tips for prospective students

Get there a little early to your classes to ensure a good parking space.

    In three sentences

I have attended NWACC for 5 semesters so far and I am glad so see how much it has grown in the time I have been there. It is a lively but comfortable campus, they did well creating an atmosphere of learning.

    Campus Safety

There is NWACC police who are dedicate to campus safety. The professors also care and go over important safety information. I do not know of anything bad happening at our school that could have been helped and wasn't.

    Greek Life

There is one sorority at our school that I know of.

    Clubs and Activities

There are not a ton of clubs and activities, but for the size of the school there are definitely enough. There are sports and clubs for those who are interested.

Great for these types of students

This school is great for students who just want to learn. There are opportunities for all types of students who are interested in a certificate or associates degree.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

I don't really know of any unusual traditions or locations on campus.

    Bang for the buck

This school is very affordable and it is well worth it. Along with getting a great education, you also have access to so many resources for a very cheap price. The classes are small, the professors really care about your education, there are people standing by constantly who are wanting nothing more than your success. You learn the very same things you would at a University here for a fraction of the cost.

    What to do for fun

There are many things to do here for fun including a gym, computer lab, library, extra circular sports, dining area, game room, quiet rooms for you to read in, and many clubs to get involved with, If you want to find fun, there is always something here to do.

    Food and Dining

There is an excellent coffee shop that has desserts and hot/cold coffees for reasonable prices. There is also a sandwich shop that has a variety of cold cut sandwiches that are delicious. They also have pizza which is very good, but somewhat expensive for the typical broke college student. The dining area is decently sized, nice and clean. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is pleasant.

    Dorm Life

This school actually does not have dorms.

    Academic Rigor

The professors at this school do not intend on making their classes unnecessarily difficult. They do, however, want each student to learn the material so they do not go out of their way to make it too easy either. The professors cover what you need to know and generally do not expect you to teach yourself. This makes things a little easier. Exams are difficult at times, but if you put the time into studying and reading the chapters, you will be fine. Professors grade fairly difficult on essays, but they usually provide you with a rubric so you know what is expected of you. Overall, I wouldn't call the school difficult if you earnestly try.

    Tips for prospective students

The best tip that I can give prospective students is to take your education seriously, go to class, do all that is required and take advantage of all the great resources this school has to offer, Do not procrastinate, If you're struggling in a class or just want some extra practice there is a tutoring center available at no extra cost. If you have an essay due, get started on it as soon as possible and go to the Writing Center at the school. The cost is automatically included in your tuition, so why not have English professors review your work before you have to turn it in for a grade? If you aren't sure about what you want to major in or what classes to take, go to the Advising Center. There are very helpful advisers there that truly want to help you succeed. If you need to use a computer, this school also has a computer lab and library where you have access to one and a printer. If you have a disability, the school will also do their very best to assist you. Care about your education and use all of these resources that are available to you because they are there for your success.

    In three sentences

NorthWest Arkansas Community College is a small school, but offers countless opportunities for those who want to learn and be successful. The staff is helpful and truly cares about each student's success and the environment is so pleasant because the students seem to really care about their education. This is school for those who are a bit nervous about going to a for year college. The teachers are like high school teachers but they expect you to do more without them telling you so it's a good transition. If you are planning to transfer from a two year college to a four year college this is a great school. The classes aren't expensive so you will be saving money for those who don't have that much money in the first place like me.

    Tips for prospective students

This is a nice school were you can learn a lot. This class sizes are small and everyone is friendly. The teachers want to do what is best for their students they will tell you if you need to study harder and will help you after class if you need them to.
