Unless you drink, do bathsalts, meth or coke, there simply isn't anything on a student level income that's worth doing here that will not get you into major police issues. I was arrested for swearing in my own apartment at 9am I said the f word and had to go away for 6 1/2 hours plus post bond due to swearing here is illegal. This isn't as bad as some others who come here from out of state that spend two years trying to get running a redlight squashed paying ridiculous fees in doing so. Oh payment plans from the court are obscene they make you pay 30.00 extra every month on a 150.00 happened to me. All I can say is, the high rating here must be from employees getting a kick back for lying their tails off to make people think this college rocks when its not even slow groove.

NAU's various clubs offer many activities throughout the year that are free to all NAU students. Such activities this past semester have included: dances, laser tag, ice skating, rock climbing, etc. Things such as dance classes, fitness classes and rock climbing are available year round. Nearby there is the snow bowl that is open during the winter for snowboarding, skiing and various winter sports and during the fall for scenic chair lift rides. NAU is also filled with trails so you can grab your bike or rent one on campus and enjoy the beauty.

Snow bowl located near campus offers a great time for winter sports as well as hiking in flagstaff. If you want to catch a movie NAU has a free theatre with soda and popcorn provided, the indoor rock climbing gym and recreational facility is updated and very nice as well as the outside challenge coarse.

Getting connected based on your personal interests is the key to having things to do in college, and this goes for NAU as well. Join clubs! Create a club! Make your own traditions! Flagstaff is fortunate to offer its students a plethora of outdoor activities, from skiing and snowboarding in the winter to hiking mountains and lava tubes during warmer months. Downtown Flagstaff is so charming year-round, and it's walking-distance away from campus.

If you like nature you'll be in heaven. The Grand Canyon isn't too far away, unless you don't have a car. There is a lot of hiking, biking, camping.

As a student, I like activities that are accessible. With volleyball courts around campus, the recreation center, the movie theater, and the nearby mountain activities, there are plenty of ways to have easy fun and/or create my own fun.
