The professors are great and really helpful. I would especially recommend the Spanish department. However, I didn't really like the ELI (extended learning institute). It's kind of nicer to just be in an actual classroom. Except for ELI, I highly recommend NOVA!

NOVA is definitely nothing like a 4 year college. It's for people that want to get their general classes done and then move on. You won't make many friends but you'll get your credits and be able to move on fast.

I have been attening Northern Virginia Community College (NVCC) since August of this year. I am pursuing a certificate in Business Management. After completion of my two year degree I am planning to open an automotive garage. Eventually, I plan to return to NVCC to get my Bachelor's , which I feel I will need in order to expand my business in various locations in and out of the state of Virginia. NVCC has six (6) campuses from Alexandria to Woodbridge, making easier for any student in Norther Virginia to attend. Additionally, if one is unable to attend classes on campus, NVCC offers an on-line degree program as well. The school offers programs that meet any students interest.

NVCC is the best choice for students who are planning to transfer to a four year university, but also a great way to pursue an Associate degree. The faculty and staff are really helpful, and students are encouraged to use a variety of resources available on campus. The biggest advantage of becoming a NOVA student is that you cannot find better quality of education for the tuition money you will pay them.

Great teachers and staff, who really know what they're talking about. Have had a great experience here so far. Have learned a ton and have really been prepared for a 4 year university.

Despite the negative vibe that other have towards NOVA, it is a great school that offers a lot of opportunities. They work to ensure you get the most out of your experience there and have just as many events as a 4 year institute. NOVA is a great place to start whether you are coming out of high school or going back to school to extend your knowledge - Highly recommended!

This is a great place to find yourself, academically. The teachers I've had went above and beyond for their students, and the support system for online classes is fantastic. It's very convenient in terms of taking classes at any of the campuses or other Virginia Community Colleges.

It is a nice transition from high school to a university. The teachers don't baby you but they don't leave you to do things fully on your own. The overall experience feels nice and welcoming. I am glad that there are other students who want to learn as much as I do.

The college and the professors here are willing to go above and beyond to help you succeed, bringing the latest gadgets, newest programs, a wide spectrum of varietal opportunities that will bring your individuality and creativity out! Christopher Blake, a hardworking and honest Spanish professor, often found on the Loudoun campus will try his best, and I mean his absolute best, to help you get a good grade and base in Spanish, as long as you show him you're serious; Saleha Bholat, a Public Speaking instructor, will always have her doors open for you at whatever time, be it if you're hungry, if you need somebody to talk to, or heck - even a shopping partner! NVCC will feel like a second home to you long before the time you graduate because of it's super caring alumni, multicultural population, and it's based near town, so you often bump into familiar faces along the way!

NOVA is a great place to start strong. Classes are smaller and more student focused. There is a lot of help provided to students (counseling, tutoring) and the best part is they guide you throughout the entire transferring process.
