OU is known for so many outside activities that they can't be counted. There is something for everyone...literally. But amid the business, my favorite place is to walk around the Dodge castle and relax in the herb and rose gardens--it's a fairy-tale land in the middle of academics.

Palace of Auburn Hills is just five minutes from campus. Top notch, world class music and sports entertainment can be had there. Shopping malls, restaurants, department stores available.

I actually spend time walking the Campus, but we have an awesome Rec Center where one can play Baskeball, Tennis or just work out.

You can go for a walk down to meadowbrook mansion which is located on campus. You can also take group classes at the rec center. The rec membership is included in the cost of tuition. Yoga is pretty much the only class you have to pay for out of pocket. There is no limit to the amount of classes you can go to. The rec is a really nice facility. If you enjoy watching sports, we have plenty to watch. The basketball team is pretty good and Lebron James even showed up to a game. We just got a track and soccer field placed last year. There are two hockey teams that play within a 10 minute drive from campus.

Basketball games are big on campus those are a must. The game room is really fun, we have pool tables, ping pong tables and xbox 360's.

All division 1 sporting events held on campus are free for students to attend and include lots of giveaways, tours of Meadow Brook Hall are free for students, the Meadow Brook Art Gallery is free for students to visit, Meadow Brook Music Festival and Meadow Brook Theatre offer student discounts, the surrounding area has three malls, the Palace of Auburn Hills, a bustling downtown, and beautiful parks. Never a dull moment, and extremely affordable.

The large campus has lots to do in only a 10 or 15 minute walk. There's the Meadow Brook Hall/Theatre, which has many awesome performances throughout the year, sometimes even with big-name music artists. There is the recreation center (which is completely, 100% free to use), take a walk around the lake or through the campus, or head off-campus to Applebee's right down the road, Great Lakes Crossing Mall (and its new aquarium), or go see a show at the Palace of Auburn Hills. There are 100+ student organizations to check out, fun events planned for students all throughout the year, guest speakers and career-related opportunities like internships or career fairs, and more! There are also dances like homecoming and prom, plus contest-like events in the residence halls and apartments. Or you could just chill in the Oakland Center or the Kresge Library, or take the time to meet the other students and find a friend group or study group. There is always something to do, whether on campus or not.

Basketball is the main sport at Oakland. Going to the games is always a lot of fun. However with Oakland being a commuter school, campus is usually dead on the weekends. Surrounding Oakland are many malls and places to go. If you have a car on campus it is fun to go out and explore the area.

There have a shuttle that takes you to the mall, Great Lakes Crossing on the weekends. They also have oncampus events but they're lame with just a big crowd of random people standing, looking crazy.
