Tuition, Cost & Aid

Affordability and Cost

Average Net Price Average net price for full-time, first-time degree/certificate-seeking undergraduates paying the in-state or in-district tuition rate who were awarded grant or scholarship aid from federal, state or local governments, or the institution. Other sources of grant aid are excluded. Aid awarded anytime during the full aid year is included.

Average net price is generated by subtracting the average amount of federal, state or local government, or institutional grant and scholarship aid from the total cost of attendance. Total cost of attendance is the sum of published tuition and required fees (lower of in-district or in-state), books and supplies and the weighted average room and board and other expenses.

Additional Costs
Room and Board The weighted average for room and board and other expenses is generated as follows:
  • (amount for on-campus room, board and other expenses * # of students living on-campus.
  • + amount for off-campus (with family) room, board and other expenses * # of students living off-campus with family
  • + amount for off-campus (not with family) room, board and other expenses * # of students living off-campus not with family)
divided by the total # of students. Students whose living arrangements are unknown are excluded from the calculation. For some institutions the # of students by living arrangement will be known, but dollar amounts will not be known. In this case the # of students with no corresponding dollar amount will be excluded from the denominator.

What Students Are Saying

i love the fact that tuition here at ohio state university, mansfield is nearly 1000 dollars per semester cheaper than it is at ohio state university, main campus. low prices may scare students, or even curious students parents' away because they feel like they are getting less of an education because the cost is lower. this is simply not true. i am only a freshman here on campus, but i have gained so much knowledge, and experience just spending three quarters on campus. if you aren't ready to make the larger leap to main campus, or if large schools just aren't for you i definitely recommend osu at mansfield, it is worth every penny!
Caylee from Ashland, OH
The best bang for the buck school out there! I get to feel like I'm at a real main campus four year university, but i also get a great price for an amazing education.
William from Bucyrus, OH
Experience is well worth the money. Less expense than staying on a larger campus and housing is significantly cheaper. The smaller class size allows to you meet more people, engage more with your professor and establish a strong connection with the university and the people here. That in my opinion, is well worth the money.
Rodney from Mansfield, OH
Overall, I would say that this school has given me opportunities that I do not think I could have gotten anywhere else. I would say that this campus at least deserves a look at before overlooking this great place. The cost is lower than the Columbus campus, but you still get the OSU pride of being a Buckeye!!
