Start your scholarship search early. Apply for any and every scholarship out there, even if it's just $100. Every little but counts! Don't buy books from the bookstore, instead you should buy them used from amazon. I spent a total of $250 on all my books when I would've had to spend over $1000. Go to the activities that the school has, they help you make friends.

Get involved with your floor you freshman year. Really get to know your floor mates and your RAs. My RAs ended up being some of the most influential people in my life. Be open to meeting new people because the people and community at Olivet is so great. When you are in your room, I would encourage you to leave your door open. It is a great way to talk to people as they walk by your room and poke their head in to see what you are up to.
