For future students, I would advise taking classes back to back (preferably in the morning) so you can get done with your day as soon as possible. That way, you have the rest of the day to do homework, rest, eat, do chores, or anything else that needs taken care of in the daily life of a college student :)
Read MoreProfessors at Pacific University want you to visit their office hours. They enjoy helping students that are seeking to help themselves. In college, nobody holds your hand. You must advocate for yourself. Whether you have a career in mind or not, it is important to persevere in the classes and activities in which you are involved. Making connections in college can help you greatly in the future. I have met some of the most intelligent human beings at Pacific University. It is fascinating with what passion and interest professors teach their subjects. A professor that loves his job not only delivers better, but also knows the ins and outs of the topics. Make an effort to develop relationships with these people. I have left Pacific with very memorable encounters with professors. I dream of having the same passion for my future career as they have for theirs. Study, study, study. This seems to be an obvious tip, but it smacks a lot of people in the face when they realize they don't know how to study. You have to make sacrifices, you have to limit your social time, you have to prioritize. We are only human. You will get a bad grade on a test, but you will also excel on others. You will discover your strengths, your weaknesses. Enjoy every possible moment because your four years will fly by. I know everyone says that, but it is more accurate than you will even believe. Do your best to be your best, advocate for yourself, and you will see all the great things that come your way.

Although the price tag on Pacific is quite high, if you have really applied yourself during high school and are willing to put yourself out there, apply. Chances are, financial aid will cover a majority of the costs, and always apply for scholarships that are available to you, even if you are afraid you won't win them.
