    Food and Dining

The college cafe, the Den, is great for convenience and the quality of the food is pretty good--but outside the dollar menu, their prices suck. Vending machines are okay, too, but you can't survive off of them. Well, you can try (I have) but I don't recommend it.

    Dorm Life

There is no dorm, it's a community college.

    Tips for prospective students

Whatever your goals are, even if you don't think you have any goals, speak with counselors in both registration and financial aid. Keep them updated as your goals and life situation change. Take their advice, but don't hold what they say as gospel truth. Also, when you register, register early and register for classes you don't think you'll actually take; you'll need something to fall back on if a class you were counting on gets cancelled because it didn't make. There's a grace period for dropping and registering for sections without any kind of penalty after the grading period has started. On that note, do whatever you can to avoid buying textbooks--rent, borrow, use the library text if they have it. If it's an option, try to rent the e-textbook because there are a lot of helpful features--like a search engine--to make school life easier.

PVC is a good stepping stone to get to a four-year college, provided that there are enough classes offered in your emphasis any given year. Due to budget cuts, only the general education requirements are certain to be fulfilled without issue. Still, the school does its job, the teachers are personable, and the campus, while a little out of the way, has its charm.

    Campus Safety

It's pretty safe, at night there is a security guard walking around to make sure everything is safe. He also will offer to escort you to your car if you feel the need to be accompanied.

    Greek Life

    There is none.

    Clubs and Activities

ASG hosts a lot of tournaments so it's fun if you're into sports.

Great for these types of students

Chill students who are down to earth.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

I'd say the old Airbase, it's cool to go see and the campus itself is located on the hill so we have a great view of the valley.

    Bang for the buck

    It's cheap and affordable.

    What to do for fun

Hang out at the bleachers with friends or at the den and play some fooseball or pingpong. You can also play soccer at the field.

    Food and Dining

It's not the best, but its okay.

    Dorm Life

    There is no dorm life.

    Academic Rigor

    Not too difficult

    Tips for prospective students

Read ahead of time for Dr. Osayande's class as his class is much better understood when you're able to participate during lectures.

Very small college, but a lot of friendly staff willing to help you. The food is decent, but closes fairly early. The classes aren't too challenging.

    Student Government

Great for these types of students

If you want a small town atmosphere, and want a smaller class size, and you are looking to save money.

    Bang for the buck

cheaper than getting an associates at an university.

    What to do for fun

Ice Blocking, Starbucks, 4th avenue, and going to the river

    Food and Dining

There is a place to eat on campus, but can get pretty expensive, be careful. Everything I have eaten there is good. There are a lot of fast food places, and other restaurants in Blythe

    Dorm Life

no dorms. plenty of apartments to choose from in Blythe

    Tips for prospective students

If you aren't from Blythe, or do not know anyone from Blythe, I strongly encourage you come with a friend, that way you don't feel too alone. PVC professors use the bridge to communicate with their students, and have a list of assignments, quizzes, etc. be sure to become a master of the bridge. :) it gets quite hot in the summer, so be as prepared as you can for that. Blythe is in the desert.

The teachers here are amazing, they care about you, and are more often than not, willing to help you with homework, or to clarify a concept, and even just to chat. The only downfall is, Blythe is a small town, there is not much entertainment. PVC is a very good opportunity for nursing students, and one can obtain their associates degree here as well.
