Categories Comments In three sentences I was a student at LCCC for about a mother and dreaded my decision attending LCCC the first day. I noticed that there was no communication between anyone, it’s like they avoided all communication with each other. And I’m not just talking about student but teachers as well. There was no way to even form a stuffy group with the way people even avoided eye contact.

Categories Comments Campus Safety This campus is located in a safe area to begin with. There is always at least one cop on campus at all times.
Greek Life No on-campus housing
Clubs and Activities I personally am involved in THON, Political Society, Blue & White Society, and Business Society. Other clubs inclue Blue and White Warriors, Bowling Club, Campus Christian Fellowship, Education Club, Environmental Club, Film Club, Frisbee Club, Glee Club, Honors Club, Lion Ambassadors, Outdoors Club, Pre-Health Society, PsiChi, PSULVERS, Psychology Club, S.G.A, Speak Your Community, Ski Club, State of the Valley, and United Leadership Council. In addition to clubs, there are also intramural sports to play. I played tennis in the fall. Others include basketball, golf, cross-country, flag football, bowling, cycling, powerlifting, and the 100-mile club. The fitness center is also a great way to connect. There are classes every day which any student may attend, as well as workout equipment. Also, there are recording studios in the music room. I've taken advantage of this as I am a musician myself!
Great for these types of students -Students who want to go to PSU Main Campus but have not been admitted - after attending a PSU satellite campus for two years, as long as requirements have been met for the student's desired major, he/she will be able to go to Main Campus.-Students who need/want to save money -Students who would rather live at home than on-campus -Students who would prefer a small campus
What to do for fun One might think getting involved on a commuter campus would be difficult or impossible - Not the case! There are plenty of clubs to join, as well as sports to play, fitness classes to take, and music groups to join or watch. There are also various activities scheduled throughout the year such as ice cream socials, movie nights, and trips to NYC. Not to mention, PSU LV is located directly across from the Promenade Shops and the RAVE Movie Theatre.
Food and Dining The Lion's Den Cafe is a great place to take a break, socialize, re-charge, or study. Because this a commuter campus, there is no meal plan. The prices are reasonable though. I'd highly recommend the Pastrami sandwich.
Dorm Life There's no on-campus housing here, but living at home saves BIG $! Plus, I get to sleep in my cozy full-size bed every night, eat delicious home-made meals, and I don't have to worry about dirty dorm bathrooms. I do know of several students living in near-by apartments as well.
Academic Rigor Academic Rigor varies course by course and depends on the professor. Some are more difficult than others. However, I have found that at a smaller school, I'm able to ask questions during class or even meet with my professor if I'm having trouble understanding the material. They are always willing to help. At a larger school, speaking personally with professors typically seems to be more difficult. That being said, the material covered isn't necessarily easier, but I imagine myself finding classes with hundreds of other students to be more difficult as I would be less able to ask questions or request extra help outside of class.
Tips for prospective students Study hard! Ask for help when you need it. Make friends and get involved. Know that this school is small. There are about 1,000 other students who attend and there is one building on campus. However, this means the class sizes are also small. One of my classes last semester had ten other students. If you'd like your professor to know your name and be willing to help you personally, a small campus is the way to go. Also know there are plenty of opportunities to socialize. You'd be surprised!
In three sentences Penn State Lehigh Valley is a commuter campus with friendly and diverse people, great professors and advisers, and plenty to do. The building is three years old and located in a beautiful area. During a time in which college may seem impossible to afford, PSU LV is a great college to attend.

Categories Comments Campus Safety There are always campus police around whether they're inside, or keeping the parking lot safe. I have never once felt that I was in danger.
Clubs and Activities My personal favorite: GET INVOLVED WITH THON! It'll inspire you, help you make friends, allow you to be apart of something bigger than yourself, and possibly change your life. There is nothing like it.
What to do for fun What can't you do for fun? First of all, there's always something going on in the student lounge. Then there's your usual clubs to join, sports to play, a gym to exercise in, a pool to swim in, plenty of room in the front yard for recreational sports, a music room to practice in, and so much more.
Food and Dining The food here in the Lion's Den is awesome, and not your typical cafeteria food. There is a great variety in foods, and the people behind the counter are always happy and helpful.
Dorm Life There are no dorms on this campus, but don't judge a school by this, or you will surely miss out.
Academic Rigor Penn State has a fairly high academic standard when it comes to classes, but do not be intimidated! The work is always doable, and the classes are always passable. Plus, professors are usually available to get help from, and there is an academic help room.
Tips for prospective students My tips for prospective students would be: don't be afraid to talk to new people, most of them would be happy to meet someone new; whether its through a job on campus, a club, or a sport, find some way to get involved; never be afraid to find a professor or staff person to talk to, they are all very helpful when it comes to anything from homework help to changing majors; and be prepared for the join in having awesome Penn State spirit.
In three sentences Penn State Lehigh Valley is a very diverse community. There are always events going on, people to talk to, clubs and sports to join, professors and staff available to help you, and so much more. We are Penn State.

Bang for the buck The school is a good value because you get the Penn State credits, but it is one of the cheapest Penn State branch campuses.
What to do for fun Penn State Lehigh Valley offers a good number of clubs for the size of the campus. There is also a gym to work out and take fitness classes, like Zumba on the first floor of the building.
Food and Dining There is a small food area on the first floor of the building, but the options are limited.
Dorm Life There are no dorms at Penn State Lehigh Valley
Academic Rigor The classes are challenging, but easy to manage with the small class size and good faculty.
Tips for prospective students Penn State Lehigh Valley is great if you are looking for a school with small class sizes where you can easily get help. If you are looking for a bigger school feeling, this is not the Penn State campus I would recommend.
In three sentences Great option if you are looking for a small class size, but you still want to get a Penn State education. Also offers the opportunity to move up to University park or any other Penn State campus after two years.
