Get mentally prepared for the workload and get used to not having much free time. I just recently finished the Pre College program and that prepared me a lot for art school in general, but also Pratt. It solidified my interest in Pratt and it held up as my top choice. I would definitely try to do it if you have the time and money.

Research and prepare! Attend National Portfolio and get your portfolio reviewed, email admissions people, visit the campus. Just try to show you're interested and keep your grades up while having a strong portfolio. They look at the big picture as I was told, so if your GPA is lacking try to make up for it with your ACT/SAT scores and your portfolio! They won't cut you down because one part of your transcript isn't the best.

In order to receive the great art education that is offered at Pratt, you have to learn to manage your time between projects. When the professors say you should be spending 6 hours on your projects, actually expect to spend that long on your homework. Art school is not a place where you can cut corners... if you do, your professors will notice. There is a massive amount of work, but it is all doable if your priorities revolve around your work. That being said, if art school is really the right place for you, you will enjoy all of the time you are spending on your projects because of the creative process and the satisfaction when seeing what you can accomplish.
