Pratt Institute is a very expensive school, and to get your monies worth, you need to be serious about your art work and design. Students who do mediocre work, retaliate against teacher critique, or don't show up to classes are not going to enjoy the school for what it's worth. Same goes with if you do not pay your school work and social life.

Art supplies is definetly a lot of money $$$ but the school has lots of equipment right at your finger tips. It is expensive but they are doing lots of construction to make campus even better in the future. Plus the professors deserve to have high salaries for their commitment and work.

  • I am researching this school and have visited the campus

I just completed their Pre College program and it was one of the best experiences of my life. Not only was I able to spend a month doing what I love, I was also able to get some amazing connections. Many of my teachers offered recommendations, especially my portfolio teacher who happened to be in charge of my state's admissions. All of the teachers helped us develop so much in only one short month. If you are looking into Pratt, definitely try their Pre College program because it will definitely help you get in and also help with scholarships.

  • I am accepted here and planning to attend soon

I don't know about everyone, but I was offered an incredible merit scholarship and of course it doesn't cover everything, but most of it is covered. Try to get as many scholarships as possible because in the long run it helps a lot, especially because New York is so expensive.

Personally, I have had the best time of my life at Pratt. In order to get the most out of your college life you have to apply yourself to your work and take as much time to explore the city as you can. Pratt is located in an adorable part of Brooklyn that is very inviting and fun. You will take field trips to the most famous museums in the world and visit incredible locations in the city throughout the school year that wouldn't be possible if you lived anywhere outside of New York. Take advantage of these opportunities!!!
