Originally founded in 1860 as St. Francis Solanus College, Quincy University is a 4-year liberal arts college in western Illinois affiliated with the Roman Catholic Church. Quincy grants undergrad degrees in over 40 academic majors and provides a liberal arts education in the Catholic Franciscan tradition. As a Catholic institution, Quincy celebrates weekday and Sunday mass in the campus chapel and holds Rosary and Confession services five days a week. For recreation, Quincy hosts over 20 intramural sports leagues including mini golf, sand volleyball, and video games.
