If you are planning on attending Rio Hondo, then get to know the class system such as the pre-requisites, because they are different from other local colleges. Try to join a group, club, or sport to receive priority registration, it will be a life saver. For the first two weeks of school try to get to the campus at least an hour and a half early. Always keep the sylabusses that the teachers give you, so you could plan ahead and not rush on homework.

I recommend always asking and seeking help if needed. I have never been turned down assistance, and as long as you're respectful then staff and others will in return. I also recommend taking full advantage of extra curricular activities and to become involved on campus. From doing so, you not only build your social network, but also learn tips to help your time here and how to help you move on.

Get your parking pass before the beginning of the semester. Also if possible have someone drop you off the first two weeks to avoid all the stress of trying to find parking. Get to know your professor your departments and where the Rio Food Court is.
