If you are currently a Maricopa County College student I would like to warn you that although Rio Salado is listed as a Maricopa College, it is nothing like the others. The writing assignments are ridiculously excessive, and the instructors could care less if you are successful or not.

i have attended rio salado for a year now and the entire experience is progressively getting worse. first warning, a&p has you do a ton of quizzes every week worth 100 points each and you can easily have an a or b in the class but ultimately those points are useless. you are actually graded by you exams. if you do not pass all three exams with a 60\% or higher or come in under 60\% on just one of the 3 exams you will be given an f. if you have questions, expect no less then 48 to hear back from the instructor. finacial aid will look for any reason not to award you. it has been a full year and i am still having to work multiple jobs (one full time and one part time job) to make monthly payments to rio. which takes away from me being able to study more for the courses. the only thing going for this school is the fact all classes are onlined based. if you read this before applying save your time and go to a differnent school. sallie mae and other larger banks will not do private student loans for rio salado either. so if you think you can find an alternative way to fund your education, guess again.

Rio Salado College is a decent school to pursue your education online. However, getting financial aid can be a pain to do.The process takes months obviously, but here it's overkill.

The class prices are affordable but there is never an option for e-textbooks and they rarely buy back the paper books that they order through a custom publisher. The custom publishing makes it nearly impossible to resell them on your own. Also, the phone staff in the cashier's, advisement, and financial aid offices do not know what they're doing; I often had to drive to Tempe from Glendale to solve a problem.

Rio Salado makes registering and attending classes a very quick and easy process. This college is very flexible with online classes and in person class times. The classes truly benefit you in learning about the degree you want to pursue.
