Part of being a Software Engineering major means spending a year with Computer Science students learning the basics of computer programming. When I first came to RIT, I knew nothing about writing code but the classes challenged and taught me well and now I feel that I am fully prepared to begin my major. RIT does a good job of preparing you for the classes that matter. You'll be able to get your math, liberal arts and sciences out of the way early so that you can get to the good stuff and excel in your major!

RIT students have a lot of spirit- the orientation program has many options to choose form so that you can meet like-minded students easily. The campus is very walkable with green space throughout- there is never far to walk to be able to sit down on the grass and hang out. Even though it is a tech oriented school, there are a lot of athletics available.

Over the past few months of applying for colleges and making decisions, RIT has thus far been the most streamlined process I've been through. From getting a school email set up to the relaxed feeling of accepted students day, this school seems to strive for excellence, and it certainly shows even in the admissions process.

RIT is the best thing that ever happened to me. The campus is so incredibly diverse and friendly - there will always be someone weirder than you, so don't be afraid to be yourself! The academics are great and the campus feels like home.

Very nice campus. Added the MAGIC Center for potential startups and entrepreneurs. You have to visit in the summer because it can get very cold in the winter.

RIT has a diverse campus, you will make friends. It's a tech school so they do not have every major under the sun. There is always something to do on campus.

There are constantly initiatives being taken to ensure that students are staying healthy and on top of their classes, as well as improving the culture that surrounds the school. The care that RIT has for its students in tandem with the amazing programs it offers makes it a perfect choice.

If you're looking for an enriching college experience, RIT is the school you want to attend. I originally came for their career orientation and have been so grateful to be among such diversity. Sometimes it seems that you don't fit in if you're not an engineering or computer science student, but there are plenty of opportunities for everyone!
