If you're a party student, don't come here. No greeklife and great campus security ensure safety and focus for all students.

I work in the admissions offices at RU, so I would say that you should apply as early as possible. When you apply does not really effect getting into Rockford, but the longer you wait, the longer it will take for you to find out if you got accepted which is nerve wracking. Also, there are limited scholarships, so if you apply early it will be easier to get one. I would say that when scheduling a campus tour date, do it in the spring or fall, so it is not cold or snowy. With nice weather, the quality of your tour will be better because it won't be rushed and RU's campus looks beautiful in both of those seasons.

There are a lot of staff members on campus, but the wonderful thing about them is that they are all welcoming and kind hearted. I recommend meeting with them. Start with meeting with an admissions counselor. The other individuals to meet would be the financial advisor, resident advisor, librarian, and an academic advisor. If you cannot meet them in person, call and talk to them on the phone.

Contact your admissions counselor early - they are awesome and will help you every step of the way. If you are going to be involved in any type of extra curricular activity contact the coach or person responsible for the club early and get yourself prepared. Keep your grade point average up!!! Retake your ACT's as many times as you need to so you can get a high grade!! Very important.
