Categories Comments In three sentences Saint Aug should be shut down right now. It's a money hungry school that has university behind their name but it's really a private college that don't mind digging in your pockets for the extra money. They promise work study and scholarships pertaining to your area of study even if you qualify they still don't put the money onto your account to help pay off your tuition. Football team only won like 2 games out of the whole season and basketball teams are terrible as well track is awesome and continue to win every single year. However food is TERRIBLE, Dorms are TOO EXPENSIVE, and you're paying more for less education. You'd think you were in high school with the workload! The average incoming student has about a 1.7 to 2.0 GPA and can't get accepted anywhere else. The college doesn't have all the majors and minors it says it has in the website. Whatever you do just don't go to SAU. They're losing their accreditation and you can't transfer to another school even if you had great grades because the coursework for private is different for public. Some professors and residence hall directors sleep with students. Greek life is tragic they let anyone walk on their plots, not all plots are complete or clean. Security let anyone in the gate no Student ID required and many students have firearms in their vehicles. It's just not a good college at all. Just go to a community college or a PUBLIC UNIVERSITY NEAR YOU!!!!! SAU isn't worth your time or money!!!!

Categories Comments Campus Safety Anyone can come on campus without showing any form of ID.
Greek Life Greek life sucks. I wanted to pledge but whenI got here I decided not to.
Clubs and Activities Academic Achievers: Program that is great for recruiting incoming freshmen. This program is supposed to be used for the duration of the student college life, however after your first year they slack off. Sports: Football sucks. Track rules here. There isn't a good turnout when it comes to fans...especially at the football games. Makes you feel like youre at a J.V. game in high school No other activities. Most kids stay in their dorms or go to other colleges in the area
Great for these types of students If your a high school student with a GPA of 1.8 and desire to attend college opposed to community college. Not to take away from those who didnt do well in school and desire to change, but they accept anyone just to get the finances
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Only common tradition is lack of professionalism here at SAU
Bang for the buck School cost $24,000 - $26,000 depending on the dorm you go to and they added 2 NC Meal tax to the tuition. This school is not worth it. Majority of the staff is unprofessional. Campus life is boring as they dont offer any activities. You are required to pay for phone fees even though people use cell phones Cable is a required bill as well
What to do for fun There is much to do unless you go downtown or to one of the other local colleges
Food and Dining Food here sucks. You'll spend most of your money eating out or depending on care packages from hom. Don't be fooled by Open House Day or Soul Food Thursdays.
Dorm Life Freshmen dorms are small and sharing the community bathroom can be a bad experience. Elevators don't always work. Dorms smell like weed. Faulkcrest is nice as you have your own room. In fact many desire to live here. Downsides are 1. Some students throw trash in the common areas (front yard, in elevators, or in the hallways) 2. You have to share a bathroom & common living area with someone who may be dirty 3. If you like graffiti then you'll love seeing it in the elevators 4. This dorm cost $4,000 for the year
Academic Rigor Academic courses are good but it depends on the profressor you have.
Tips for prospective students This school should be your last resort. If you do decide to attend keep copies all documents (financial aid, admissions, health records, emails, & assignments) as they tend to get lost. Be persistent when dealing with faculty. Be prepared to deal with ghetto staff, ghetto students as well as the ghetto neighborhoods surrounding the school. I suggest looking at NC State or William Peace which is close
In three sentences SAU is one of the worst HBCUs' out. The school is in financial trouble due to the previous president and other faculty misusing funds, they unwisely decided to build a football stadium for a team that sucks and currently owes $650,000 to the contractors who stopped working because they werent getting paid, they laid off 30+ people and furloughed staff, 12 month employees will only get paid for 10 months, 11 Summer classes were cut, and they don't want to offer work-study, scholarships, or grants. Many students didn't return for the 2014 Spring Semester as they transferred and more are talking about not returning in the Fall. Freshmen enrollment is at 198 and if more don't enroll they will have more cuts. Majority of the staff here are very unprofessional & rude. I hate to say it but they act as ghetto as the surrounding neighborhoods. They are not equipped to teach the next generation of professionals. It's sad because not all the staff is like that but the bad outweighs the good. When you come in for Registration be prepared to get the run around and to be there all day!! It's very unorganized too Your paperwork will get lost..keep copies!!

Categories Comments What to do for fun There are often gym parties on campus that every student loves.
Food and Dining The cafe serves eatable food every day of the week for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Dorm Life The dorms are kept nice by students not trashing everything and the janitors doing their job in the morning. There are two separate freshman male and female dorms right beside each other. There are also 6 other dorms for the upperclassman.
Academic Rigor The classes at Saint Augustine's are great. The professors do a good job of teaching and making sure students understand information before moving on to a new subject. Paying attention and class and talking to your professors will help you pass any class. The professors really want to see each student pass.
Tips for prospective students Once entering Saint Augustine's you should join a club or team. Joining a club or team will allow you to meet more students like yourself.
In three sentences Saint Augustine's University is a great institution. Once you enter the university there are a lot of different people around you from different parts of the country you will get used too. From the culture and students, to the books, there are different things you will need to adjust to.

Greek Life Horrible to many inactive & suspensions, Alphas care there self like true & respectable gentleman they work hard on campus best on the yard ladies can do some more work and come out more but they have to much drama Kappas are very good as well.
Clubs and Activities Sorority and fraternity
Great for these types of students None, this is not recommended for any students with high education goals
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Theres none and its sad you have to go search for the history yourself
Bang for the buck I do not reccomend this school for anyone if I can rewind the hands of time I would wwnt to UConn.
What to do for fun Nothing the students activity board quit your stuck in your room or on campus all day twenty four seven days a week.
Food and Dining Cafe is horrible, you'll end up having money wasted on take out
Dorm Life Dorms are horrible, insects, roaches, bed bugs, jail cell, no heat, no air conditioning, very disgusting
Academic Rigor Profession are the only ones who keeps the students going and keep faith and a few staff there who truly care for you and your education
Tips for prospective students Please do come here unless its your last resort this school use to be the best but this year we lost over 400 students due to its awful ways and lies and then taking advantage of students funds. You will be forever bond to this school it will be very hard to transfer and they don't accept all credits a very money hungry school and its falling apart it never never use to be this way.
In three sentences Needs Time Management awful shape, A Few Great Professors who do care about their students. Lies and takes advantage of student. Takes students money without telling them where its spent towards

Greek Life Taken way to seriously
Clubs and Activities A lot of different clubs for you to join, They even have modeling troupes.
Great for these types of students All types of students are welcomed
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus As a freshmen your are required to take first year experience and you have to dress up every Thursday.
Bang for the buck Tuition is 26,000 its fairly good for a private HBCU
What to do for fun There are always parties happening Thursday through Saturday curfew is @ 3am
Food and Dining The cafe is okay don\t eat there that often
Dorm Life Ughh, well weston- the girls dorm , elevators are always breaking down but other than that i love living on campus besides having a curfew for the first couple of months up until homecoming.
Academic Rigor The work is fairly easy just make sure you do all of your assignments ! But if your planning to transfer most credits aren't transferable
Tips for prospective students Make sure you go to class. If you do plan to miss any just make sure you talk to your teacher the can be very understanding.
In three sentences The school has a family orientated atmosphere. It can get boring at times but other than that you would love it. Just make sure your on top of everything.

Categories Comments Campus Safety There is security on and around campus
Great for these types of students Adult Learners, Continuing Education
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Located near downtown Raleigh.
Bang for the buck Tuition is 14,586.00
Academic Rigor Most Professors are helpful, and class size is small
Tips for prospective students If you are looking for a Christian based campus, look somewhere else. Its O.K for continuing education or someone who is already involved in ministry and just wants academic credit
In three sentences It's a 4 year private institution and has a variety of majors. It's not really a Christian based school. Its more independent and the Christian Ministry program for this campus is fairly new.

Categories Comments Campus Safety There are cops all around the school, in every building. Saint Aug does it's best to keep the students safe.
What to do for fun There tons of organizations and activities for the students to participate in. Even on vacations the school has programs and activities for the the students which is fun. There are also places nearby that the students can visit
Food and Dining If you love soul food then you will definitely enjoy the food. Though they try to be diverse when it comes to the meals.
Dorm Life College is what you make of it and the same applies to dorm life. The school provided me with a room and allowed me to make it feel like home.
Academic Rigor The professors push you passed your limit to become a hard working, responsible, and organized student. Their goal is to prepare you for the real world, and they are definitely helping me.
Tips for prospective students Saint Augustine's University is a small school, with this being said, if you enjoy being around the same people everyday then this is the school for you.
In three sentences Saint Augustine's University is a family oriented school that made me feel completely welcome. The faculty and staff did everything they could to help me financially. I love my school and wouldn't choose to go elsewhere.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Our campus police are always on duty.
Greek Life Greek life is amazing. They host step shows and parties. Most important they do community service and focus on academics.
Clubs and Activities We have many clubs and organizations. I would recommend to check our website www.st-aug.edu to check out our student handbook for specific names and details.
What to do for fun For fun there are always events or activities on campus such as talent shows, advice sessions, pageants, parties, Greek performance and more. Resident Halls also host many shops or kick backs. Students also just enjoy hanging out and making their own events such as balloon fights.
Food and Dining The food is not like food at home but it is pretty close. It changes everyday and there is more than one choice of dinner. The lunchroom has specific hours as well.
Dorm Life Dorm life is interesting, we do have visitation hours but it varies depending on the resident hall. Fines are given if necessary but only for discipline. Unfortunately, freshman dorms are a bit small.
Academic Rigor The academic work is not too easy nor too hard. It may causes you to think and do research but never pop a brain vessel. That is depending on the declared major.
Tips for prospective students If you are looking for an institution that puts STUDENTS first then Saint Augustine's University would be right for you. Remember that college is what you make it and what you put in is what you will get out of it. Most importantly never be afraid to ask questions and use the resources around you.
In three sentences As an upcoming sophomore at Saint Augustine's University I would rate it 8 out of 10. The faculty and staff are helpful and understanding. Last the event and activities keep life on campus entertaining.

Food and Dining The food is edible and there is nothing more to it.
Dorm Life There is much that goes on in the dorms.
Academic Rigor The Science department is very good.
Tips for prospective students Use Saint Augustine's University as a last option.
In three sentences Saint Augustine's is a small school and is very good for students who are not use to being away from home. The classes are small and are great for those who need extra attention. Saint Augustine's is a school in progress.

Tips for prospective students Stay focus on the goal at hand, and whatever you do finish!
In three sentences Saint Augustine's University is a very thriving school, with as much opportunity to give as any other University. The Campus is a good size and all about how you make it. I will rate Saint Aug a 7-10

Categories Comments Bang for the buck Walking distance there is a Cookout, Bojangles, and KFC. There are also numerous restaurants that deliver to the school.
What to do for fun There are always activities to d on campus.
Food and Dining Food and dining are good.
Dorm Life For a freshman is not a five star hotel, but it is livable As long as you clean up after yourselves, you will probably never see any bugs. As an upperclassmen the living conditions get a lot better.
Academic Rigor It is at times challenging, but what college work isn't?
Tips for prospective students My tip for prospective students is if come into school with a positive attitude and wanting to learn, then this is the school for you. Also take your education seriously and the professors will do all they can to help you succeed.
In three sentences I absolutely love Saint Augustine's College because everyone values education. The professors at Saint Augustine's do everything they can to help you. The experience at this college so far has been great.

Greek Life Greek life on campus is ok, it's not like most. there's only a hand full of them but when they come out, they come out. But none the less they do try to have things on campus to help out student for test, midterms and finals when that time comes around.
Bang for the buck When homecoming comes around in October.
What to do for fun Campus has a building that contains a pool and ping-pong tables. Along with those are television, and places to have small social gatherings, nothing to big just enough fun a little bit of fun.
Food and Dining The food on campus... Well the cafe isn't that bad, but the grill, which is upstairs in the M.L.K building is a lot better. You get your moneys worth up there, but the cafe its self, lets just say it will definitely make you move.
Dorm Life The freshmen dorms are fairly nice. You have control over your air and heat, the rooms are somewhat small but has enough space for a person who has something like 4 suite cases and places to but all of your clothes and other personal items.
Academic Rigor The teachers here are very good, well not all of them but a very vast majority of them are. As long as you go to class, listen, pay attention, participate in the lectures, and do your work, you have no reasons why you shouldn't pass.

Greek Life from the outside looking in is good, but being a student that is not Greek there is not much i can tell you.
Food and Dining the food is OK, just not like your typically home cooked meals
Dorm Life not the best, but manageable. your first year is typically the worst unless you are a transfer student or 21 years of age and older.
Academic Rigor academics are the same as any school. if you actually put forth the effort and time to do your work, then you will get good grades.
Tips for prospective students when you get here remember to stay positive and always carry your falcon pride with you.
In three sentences A great institution if you are looking for a small historical black college/ university. students are typically very close to faculty and have great relationships with one another.

Greek Life Sorority Fraternities The plots for each Soro/Frat are really nice.
Clubs and Activities Chorus Band sports MORE
What to do for fun Somedays they have a DJ outside of the dinning hall and the students can eat and listen to music outside.
Food and Dining When becoming an official student at St Augustine's the meal plan is included with your tuition. The food is good.
Dorm Life The dorms are really small, it can be a good thing or a bad thing. I personally take it as in advantage because it's enough room for two( you and roommate) so no extra distractions are capable. They do need to be upgraded.
Academic Rigor The college seems to be more hands on. They offer Academic Achievers Program, which is a program that will help students if they are struggling. Mentors are assigned to freshman, to help guide them during their first year.
Tips for prospective students Visit the campus before actually submitting that you will be attending. Visiting the campus will give you a general idea of what goes on, on the campus. Visit the classrooms, ask lots of questions.
In three sentences The campus is small, which is an advantage for several reasons. One you shouldn't get loss and if your running late, you should get there fairly quick because the buildings are within reach. The campus is clean and beautiful.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Campus safety is very important and plays a big role at Saint Augustines College. Throughout the day and nights there is a seurity staff which walks the campus making sure things are secure and that the rules are being followed.
Greek Life Greeik life on campus is very nice. You are able to recognize who belongs to what. They are very dedicated to what they do and they respect what they have become. For students who are coming, they would most likely have an interest in one or another.
Clubs and Activities There are multiple clubs and activities that are offered everyday to the students. Alot of the clubs take place in the major of your choice. For example, chorus, dance, writing and the list goes on because for just about anything you can think of there are one or more clubs that relate to it.
Great for these types of students Students who are really trying to make something out of their lives and who really want to have a career will do well here. There are times to play, there are times to study, and get into the books.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Being that this campus is an HBCU, most of the buildings are named after former presidents of the school. A whole lot of the buildings have meanings behind them and serve a very important role for the shcool.
What to do for fun Saint Augustine's College activities are found throughout the days. There is a building by the name of Goold Hall for recreation. This building is full of games and fun that you can share with you peers. Then at times fun is just found within yourself and your friends. This school also host several events and celebrations throughout the year.
Food and Dining The food at Saint Augustine’s College is descent. Rather you agree with the food or not is up to you and what exactly you like to eat. In the cafe there are about five different options you can choose from. The dining area is descent as well, and has a well-developed atmosphere.
Dorm Life Dorm life is something that will help you grow as a person when it comes to people skills, and living with someone you may not know anything about. This is also something that you will at first have to adjust to because; it is different from being at home in your regular comfort zone. As for me I adjusted, and I accept my dorm life it was not always easy but, I am happy that I had a chance to experience this life style.
Academic Rigor Academics at Saint Augustines College is very fair and well presented. The academics should come at a well level as long as you stay on top of the game. For example getting your work done on time, doing well on test and quiz grades. Keeping your gpa up is very important because it allows you to have in advantage with your education you recieve and, the awards you can achieve.
Tips for prospective students For the students who plan to attend Saint Augustine's College in the future I will say, follow your dreams. I would also say that this college is one that will be behind you through whatever decision you make with you career path. The last thing I would say is stay ahead of your work in your academics, enjoy your time here as a student, and become successful.
In three sentences Saint Augustine’s College is a wonderful college with high hopes for the students who are currently attending and will attend in the future. This College has a history and still continues to make history as the years go by. This school is one that helps students, and does not give up on them, especially when they are at the toughest points in their lives striving to reach their goals.

Categories Comments Am enjoying being here A nice school with a friendly campus, if you are a student who does not excel in big classrooms then Saint Augustine's College is for you. Professors at St. Aug like to be well acquainted with their students by providing study halls and exam reviews. I really enjoy learning at the Aug.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Great for people with great social skills, people who love the entertainment business, aspiring singers, dancers, models, everything.
Tips for prospective students Tips for students I would give is that definitely watch who you hang around and also be careful who you tell your business to because the campus is small and stuff gets around fast. Stay involved in the school, it definitely helps you in the long run and people recognize you for it. Another thing I would also say is that you need to stay on your schoolwork 24/7 because of the simple fact that the teachers here don't really cut you no slack.
Bang for the buck They will definitely give you a run for your money. I think that the way they do certain things for the students such as the homecoming and spring fling and things of that nature is really worth you spending your money as well as getting an education.
Am enjoying being here I do enjoy being here. I think that there is a lot to do out here especially off campus. There are a lot of jobs that sponsor students and help them to get their work experience up. There are definitely fun activities to do around The campus and the area.
Am learning a lot I think the professors here are pretty decent. They have so many different teaching styles here and there is so much you can learn from these professors here. I feel like I am learning so much about myself and about the world by being here.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students If you struggled in high school, but know that you can achieve and want to achieve than Saint Augustine's is the right school for you. The atmosphere is great for learning and the nuturing environment will assure that you do learn, as long as you want to.
Tips for prospective students When shopping for your school, make sure it is a fit for not just you, but the family. Compare everything, classes, dorms, activities, access to off campus activities, and you will be sure to have made the right choice.
Bang for the buck Considering it is a private college, the tuition is relatively low compared to other private colleges in the area. The campus is beautiful and the professors are of great prominence.
Am enjoying being here I knew I wanted to experience living on campus, but living at Saint Augustine's has been just about the best experience ever.
Am learning a lot It's hard to fail at this school. Their program Freshman Experience, keeps you in constant contact with advisors, professors, and tutors. You even have to check in with them.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students This school is excellent for individuals who enjoy having closer relationships with professors. If a student prefers more one-on-one time with teachers then this is definitely a good school to look at. Questions are welcomed and explained during class. Students who would like to have smaller class sizes or receive more attention in class should look into attending.
Tips for prospective students Build a relationship with the school. Check the website and observe the majors and curriculum that is offered. Visit the campus if possible. Be organized, when registering or applying for school, keep copies of ALL DOCUMENTS you have such as admissions paperwork, FAFSA, FinAid papers, Housing, Student Accounts, etc. If you are given or presented with any documentation that is related to your attendance, duration or account from any college you are or planning on attending make copies and save them in an organized fashion. One never knows what can happen in the future, don't be caught off guard.
Bang for the buck The price for this school is moderate. The school is a private college, with prominent professors. There is NO OUT OF STATR TUITION! Everyone pays the same price. The current tuition cost is 22,000. So depending on personal preference the cost of school can be considered good or bad.
Am enjoying being here The school population is small which allows excellent opportunities to socialize and make new friends. The campus is relatively small. Classrooms and various division buildings are within very close proximity. The food is all you can eat buffet style with multiple choices of selection.
Am learning a lot I am studying in the Math and Science Division which has a newly acclaimed status of the top 11% of the nation's best schools in Math and Science. But the curriculum appears to be very useful and informative. I believe the curicculum gives a student the education and resouces to be successful in not only recieving a degree but moving on into graduate school or in the workforce.
