Student Responses to Review Topic: Food And Dining

the food here was mostly inedible to me. as someone who likes fresh vegetables, fruits and home cooking, it was very hard for me to find something palatable on most days. allergens are not clearly demarcated and ingredients are hard to find. many people complain of food poisoning from the dining hall. the on campus cafe can sometimes be a better alternative and we do have an on campus jamba juice which is delicious.

There are few on-campus dining options. The dining hall has a good variety during breakfast, and there is always something vegetarian to eat.

If you're vegan or vegetarian you'll probably starve or live off of salads. If you're an omnivore, you may or may not starve anyway based off of the edibility of the food. Some of it just isn't good.

Sodexo did a wonderful job of feeding my fellow students and I at Oliver. The staff is generally friendly and caring and the food has great variety day-to-day.

Only 1 dining hall, but the food is pretty good for the most part and the made to order omlets, sandwhiches and salads are the best part.

I don't know about you, but I get better food here than I do at home! Sodexo, the company which provides our food, is always changing up the menu every day and for special occasions. The International section is always featuring meals with salmon, stir-fry, ribs, burritos, chicken, and pork. The grill is always open with hamburgers, turkey burgers, quesadillas, and grilled cheese next to the Pizza and Pasta Corner Bistro. The Legacy Garden provides gluten free and vegetarian/vegan options like tofu, falafel sandwiches, veggie patties, veggie wraps and curries that rotate every day. There is always a sandwich and salad bar near the fruit counter for quick meals while the cereal counter with drinks like tea, coffee and hot chocolate are always open. To top it all off there is a large glass display case featuring delicious sweets and pastries made right behind the counter. At Saint Marys we have a meal plan where you can choose meals per week instead of paying per item. Students are welcome for seconds ,as long as they get their hand stamped on the way out. However, some students prefer to get Starbucks coffee at Café Louis with a small sandwich bar with pastries. It is great for snack time but students have to use flex dollars here.

Sadly, Saint Marys doesn't have a Greek Life on campus. There are a couple Sororities and Fraternities off campus, but they are not affiliated with the school. Recently there has been a new club called Gael Sisterhood and Gael Brotherhood which is aimed toward being a type of Greek life on campus, but it is still evolving.
