nester noomon 07\12\2016 writing900 ann fillmore salt lake community college academic advising salt lake community college academic advising center is great because it contains a lot of help. the advisors at the academic advising center do a really good job at advising. they take their time with the student in need of help. the student explains the situation they are facing and the advisors ask the student what kind of changes they would like to make in their situation. and once the student figures out the changes they would like to make. the advisor gives the student a couple option they can use in their situation to change the difficulty they are facing at salt lake community college. during the advising the advisors put themselves in the student position. as in what they would do if they were the student, what would first thing that would come to their mind if they were the student and what kind of changes would they like to make. the advisors make their decisions carefully according to the student needs. because most of the advisors at salt lake community college attend the some college as well. so most of them have experience when it comes to some of the struggles the student are faced with. because they went to college as well. for an example there was a time i was in need of advising because i wasnã¢â?â?t sure what classes to take a semester because my acuplacer scores had me worried. so i took the advantage and went to the academic advising center. when i got there i asked respectfully if i could meet with an advisor and the lady in the front desk asked me to sign up and have a seat and wait for the advisor. so i did and the advisor came and we went to his office and i introduced myself and he introduce himself as well we sat down and he asked me what he could help me with and i explain my situation to him gently in a clam manner. once he listened to the difficulties i was facing he give me a couple of option and help me plan my class for each semester. which really help me because i now know what i am doing and anytime iã¢â?â?m faced with a problem i am never afraid to go to the academic advising center for help. a couple of things i personally feel like the academic advising center at salt lake community college could improve on is the waiting list. i feel like the waiting list is too long you have to wait like 30 minutes until another advisor is available to see you which is wrong because a lot of student are really in a hurry sometimes or have work to go to after so some canã¢â?â?t wait that long. i think they should really open up another advising center on campus because a lot of student are in need. also i personally feel like if they had couple advisor that can speak maybe french or another language it would be helpful because some student come from another country that struggle with english and need help with understanding how to plan for their classes or other things but thatã¢â?â?s what i personally feel like they can improve on. based on my experience i would award the advising center 4 stars.

There are a lot of clubs and opportunities at SLCC to join and have fun. They also have a lot of activities going on at the Redwood campus that are also really fun to see and participate in.

The school provides activities for everyone to get to know each other. They show films for free in the courtyard once a month. Everyone and anyone is welcome.

There are about over 60 clubs and organizations at Salt Lake Community College. It ranges from different ethnic clubs to different clubs that has to deal with their major. These clubs give students a life other than school and home. Many students join clubs that will help them advance in there intended major. Some students on the other hand, don't join any of these organizations, since they aren't very much interested in some things. On the weekends students will always go out to downtown Salt Lake to go shopping, see the lights and dine.

There are occasional school sponsored activities as well as there are the sports games to attend. There is a gym for free use, and any of the P.E. facilities are available for use whenever there isn't class. Outside the school there are plenty of options as this is fairly busy part of salt lake.

Since SLCC is a commuter college there isn't much to do at the college itself. But there are always events like concerts, musicals, art shows happening which are super cool. I've attended many myself and besides from being cool, they're free if you're a student there!

I'm pretty sure you could find lots to do downtown. It's about a 20 minute drive away.
