I just want to warn all-perspective students about the school. The campus is new and renovated. It's beautiful except for the child development classrooms which are in trailers in the back of the building. The part you should be aware of is that the school does nothing to protect students from bullying from their teachers. The school is complicit in allowing professors to run their classroom anyway they see fit even if it's harmful to students. I had a professor Nater for Spanish 101 and she saw fit to demean and disrespect her students everyday. She use vulgar language and called us spoiled white Americans who would never learn Spanish. I and 17 other students filed complaints and grievances with the dean only to be informed that she was friends with the professor and that we needed to cut the professor a break. I never thought that I would have to endure being bullied by a professor, nor did I ever in my wildest dreams think that the school would back the teacher and defend her against its paying students.

if your not close to the campus like me trust me it is well worth the bus ride or the drive. Also try to sign up for a club there's many on campus plus it looks good on your resume or scholarship application. I would suggest trying to do any financial aid resources including the many other resources on campus, especially if it's your first year.

I absolutely love the Child Development classes, center, and professors! If you're trying to get a degree in child development SD Miramar is a great bet. One important tip I have is to really check what the counselors here tell you. I have experienced some problems with the counseling department giving me the wrong information as well as several of my peers getting the wrong information from the counselors.

As with all colleges, students need to be on top of their own education and finances. There are a lot of resources at Miramar college to make your dreams happen, but no one is going to do it for you. Study hard, and pay attention to deadlines!
