Originally founded in 1878 as a training school for African American ministers and teachers, Selma University is an Historically Black Bible College affiliated with the Alabama State Missionary Baptist Convention. While most of Selma’s degree programs focus on subjects like Theology and Pastoral Studies, the university also confers bachelor’s degrees in Business and General Studies. In addition to its academic and religious offerings, Selma is also home to Men’s and Women’s Basketball and a Men’s Baseball team.
