I would suggest commuting if you live close enough and are able to. Most of friends from high school who lived at southern first semester quickly decided they wanted to commute. If you're like me and care more about the quality of the professor than the time of the class, ratemyprofessor.com rates most of the professors accurately. Commuters: during winter park in wintergreen, the garage is never full and trust me when its freezing out you're going to want the option of taking the shuttle to class. Davis is okay to park in too because you can walk through the heated gym to get to the academic buildings.
