Southern University at New Orleans is a public and historically black university, and it’s the only institution in the state to offer a degree in museum studies. SUNO is a participant in the Upward Bound Program, which is funded by the US Department of Education and gives high school students the tools to finish high-school and enroll in college. SU at New Orleans offers a number of support options for current and future students, including the Center for Comprehensive Communications, the Southern University Honoré Center for Undergraduate Student Achievement, and the TRIO Programs.
