    Seeing as you'll be going more or less for free if your GPA is 3.0 or higher, only having to pay fees and books (and housing, I think, to live on campus), SMC is excellent value. It's a great way to start out your higher education, maybe even discover that college might not be for you even though you thought it was--or vice versa! The courses are rather easy, I'm sure much easier than a four-year institution, and when you graduate and get ready to transfer to a four-year, you'll have all your General Education requirements out of the way so you can fully focus on the REAL stuff--whatever your major is. Also, optional chapel services on Wednesdays and Sundays provide a church home, whether you live on campus or not.
