    What to do for fun

It's nursing school you have no weekends for the next three years, you study and do reports.

    Food and Dining

St. Joes is a private 3 year diploma program for nursing. You do not live on campus and dining involves eating at the hospital cafeteria or bringing your food from home.

    Dorm Life

They do not have dorms you live at home.

    Academic Rigor

The classes are very hard and fast paced. You learn a lot but nursing school is like no other when it comes to test you need to retrain your mind to critically think, all test are like the NCLEX so you have to find the best answer to the question even if there are two or more answers that are right.

    Tips for prospective students

Try to get all your prerequisites done prior to starting. This will give you more time to study and concentrate on the major classes like Nursing Theory and Pharm.

St. Joe's is a great school you are able to get your clinical experience right away. You get a comprehensive pharmacology course as well as nutrition which some school give you the bare bones. I would recommend this school to anyone looking at nursing.

    Campus Safety

We have excellent security at the hospital.

    Clubs and Activities

Class Officers and many other positions to apply for.

Great for these types of students

Students who like accessible teachers and like being more than just a number. Also, those students who like to learn by doing.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

This school is very traditional and holds a capping ceremony for students in which students are recognized with caps/stripes/pins to show their level in the program.

    Bang for the buck

Upon graduation, students will be ACLS certified and have 2 courses completed towards their bachelors degree. Furthermore, the school has partnered with Salve Regina to offer a 1 year bachelors continuing education option.

    What to do for fun

Relax with friends, take a drive, take a walk around the surrounding area.

    Food and Dining

The hospital cafeteria is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. However there are some really great restaurants in the surrounding area.

    Academic Rigor

The classes are very difficult and the program fast-paced but that's to be expected in any nursing program. It's nothing you can't handle.
