There's bikes you could rent. First hour is free. There's the gym/sports complex. If you like intramural sports, handball, etc. The pool has not yet opened even though it was supposed to. There's a couple restaurants nearby. Studying.. if that's what you do for fun. The beach is about a 10 min drive away.

Stony Brook has sponsored events every Wednesday including farmers markets, carnivals, pie tasting, and much more! Get a group of friends and take a trip to the nearby town of Seaport and try the clam chowder or fresh water taffy. Smithaven mall is a bus ride away and free transportation is provided on Sundays.

Get involved! Many people say that they don't have fun at Stony Brook, but they are simply expecting to have fun without making an effort or taking an initiative. There are activity fairs during Campus Lifetime which is every Wednesday. There are plenty of clubs and opportunities, it is just a matter of taking the initiative to join a club or just doing something!

Stony Brook has more than 150 clubs and you will find the one's that interest you. People here are extremely friendly and welcoming! You could go to the Staller Theater to watch shows, sit by the pond and relax, burn out the extra calories in the beautiful recreation center, if its raining outside you can play indoor basketball, badminton, etc. There is a mall nearby Stony Brook and beach 15 mins away! The weekend life council has something or the other from water slides to drive in movies during the weekends!

There's a plethora of clubs available to join on campus. The UGCs frequently throw social events for residents. However, the party scene is pretty mediocre and complicated. If you want to go to a party, you have to wait for frat brothers to drive you somewhere off campus, sometimes waiting for an hour to end up in a cramped, sweaty and dirty frat house.

There's plenty of clubs on campus, although a decent amount of them are STEM-oriented. Sororities and fraternities are abound! If neither of those are for you, you can always take a trip to the city - Stony has a train station on campus.

There are over 100 clubs and organizations you can join! There is literally a club for every activity, from playing league of legends, to playing a sport or even weightlifting. The Rec Center, where most people work out, is open every day, all day, and into late night, so that is a place where people can go to do yoga, work out, train, or whatever their heart desires.

Of course the number one thing is partying but there are plenty of other ways to have fun. You can join a club or clubs. There's always events going on within clubs even if you don't want to join. Every week and weekend an organization send out an email of events happening campus wide and each building normally has a meeting every week to discuss what's happening on campus and in the building.
