What Students Are Saying

Although Suffolk University is not the most difficult school to get in to, it is certainly not an easy school academically. I have pulled several all nighters throughout my freshman and sophomore years at Suffolk. However, I have also learned a tremendous amount, due to the experienced professors and class constructs. I can not stress how important it is to get to know your professors; they are the best connections you can have as a college student. Suffolk's enrollment of only 5,800, allows students to truly get involved with their professors. The average class size ranges from 25-50 students, rather than the hundreds you will find at larger universities. I feel as though Suffolk is definitely preparing me for the real world and my plans after college.
Emily from Weymouth, MA
I definitely think that Suffolk is academically rigorous. In my experience, however, I was challenged academically but not overwhelmed. For me, this is exactly what I wanted. I did not want to go to a school where academics were so high that there was no time for relationships of any kind. I think that it is amazing to be able to get a great education from a respected university without sacrificing the people that you love.
Rebecca from Warwick, RI
It depends on what you want out of it. For me, I enjoy all of the classes I am planning to take, and the classes are rigorous, but then again, this is not high school. They expect more from you, and want to make sure you succeed.
Eric from Boston, MA
Academics are not to hard (for me at least). But, I am always learning and the professors are very kind and eager to help.
Marcus from Bolton Landing, NY
The classes are challenging and they help you to develop as a student and a person. All the business courses prepare you for what you will see in the work place.
Ariel from Hooksett, NH
One of Suffolk's best qualities are the small class sizes. This allows students to have personal relationships with their professors because they are so small. The academics at Suffolk can be challenging but are never completely overwhelming, depending on your major of course. Class schedule will depend on whether you are in the Sawyer Business School, or the College of Arts and Science - and whether you're a Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Science. Suffolk already has it worked into the curriculum that you can double major or minor without spending and additional time or money on your education.
Brenna from Waterbury, CT
The classes may be hard but with the small class size things may go by a little smoother
