One of the best pieces of advice given to me before coming here is to put yourself out there. Join clubs, even if it's something you've never done before. You grow so much in college that it's a chance to experience something new. Plus, you might meet your best friend there. You're paying a lot of money for your college education, invest in good snow boots and a good winter coat, you'll need it!

If you are someone who needs city life or other activities to keep you involved outside of school or school life, I would not recommend Syracuse. There is not much to do here other than school. There is barely a downtown in the city of Syracuse and not much to do in general around this area. Life can get pretty boring. The weather can get pretty gloomy... a good winter jacket and snow boots are essentials. If you are interested in a sense of school pride and greek life, this is a good school for you. It is rare to find someone who isn't involved in a sorority or fraternity and it seems that those involved in greek life have an even greater sense of community and love for Syracuse.

When I got there, I adapted by actively seizing opportunities and making a place for myself, and I am beyond happy. Also, I was given the best piece of advice by a professor at SU during my search: find the school that has the *people* who will make you the best you can be. Academic programs are comparable, but the people at each school will not be.
