CHEAP tuition but Tarleton definitely makes up for it with their expensive room and board. And they make you get into a two year contract so you have no choice but to pay for dorms.

Tarleton State University is one of the cheapest schools in Texas. Tuition with room and board and a meal plan is like 19-21K a year which is fantasticccc. But everything here at TSU doesn’t seem to be cheap. We have very nice dorms which are very comfy to live in. We own state of the art facilities including our Rec Center, our nursing buildings as well as our science building and some of our nicer dorms. TSU’s dining hall is always a choice to go eat. With full salad and pizza bar, and with many different types(healthy, American, Italian, sandwich bar, etc) of foods to eat it’s a pretty good deal considering the standard 15 meal swipes a week is plenty for a full time student(I think it’s around 1,700 a semester for this meal plan). Because of all these great features it’s a really awesome thing to have at such an affordable price, anyone who thinks about coming to Tarleton should, it’s like a second home... but better :)

It's a small school that's rapidly growing each year. It's not for everyone. I originally didn't feel like I fit in but the price tag is what kept me here. If you're open minded and accept the community/student body they will accept you too. I think the price tag is super reasonable and honestly it's totally worth it.
