Although Tarrant County College is just a community college it offers classes that have a more rigorous course load like that of one in a major university. I am glad I came to this school before transferring out to a larger university because I feel more prepared and am ready for anything.

I’ve been to the Northeast and Downtown Fort Worth campuses. They are both very clean and have great teachers. At the Northeast campus you have to walk outside to different buildings and at the Downtown campus everything is on different floors.

There is a huge diversity of students, teachers, and classes. Be really careful about choosing teachers, there are some really good professors and some really bad ones so use rate my professor and peer connections. The advisors are pretty bad depending on what you need, the staff in general tends to be pretty apathetic or rude

The public opinion on community college is generally very poor but this District is a contrast to this view. Overall the staff is very accommodating and the education is of a standard on the same level of a 4 year university I attend currently that costs about six times as much.

A great school if you're looking to get your basics done to transfer. Generally the students are pretty chilled. Professors want to work with the student especially if your struggling in a class.

Be careful when researching your professors: most are either brilliant and treat you like you've already learned everything and this is a refresher, or they treat you like you're 5/don't have a clue what is going on (there are the ones that are wonderful and treat you like a real human adult, and they will work with you as much as they can). Campuses are small, just like the classes, which is a total plus. Make sure to use ratemyprofessor.com!

Great college. Although a local college, it offers just as much as large universities. Loving the experience so far. And great professors.

Before starting at TCC, I had to receive my GED. Unknown to most, TCC has a GED readiness course, and all you have to do to get into this free program is to take a test and see where your at. I took the test then the class, and TCC paid for my GED.
