Texas State's tuition costs are some of the lowest and yet they still offer amazing programs with devoted professors who really care about the subjects they're teaching. You won't find many professors here who are teaching because they are obligated to do so in order to do research, they all truly want to be teaching their perspective subjects. On top of the education, the meal plans are cost effective and there are many free services that students can take advantage of in their tuition like the recreation center and counseling.

Texas State offers great academics and all, but housing and meal plans are way over priced for what you get. Same thing for parking. If you plan on bringing your car be ready to fork over about $500 for a permit.
