Texas Tech has sends out many emails to their students over different activities throughout the school. There are movie night where students will be able to watch a movie for free with their student ID. There are also many different restaurants and bars outside of Texas Tech where you can enjoy time with your friends.

There are many clubs and student organizations to join at Tech, so finding an interest you have won't be that difficult. There is also a Recreational center for some of those clubs and also a Gym to stay fit and avoid freshman fifteen. Outside the Recreational Center there is a huge pool, tennis, basketball, and volleyball courts.

  • I am accepted here and planning to attend soon

For me I'm focused on graduating in the Fall of 2018. I have heard that they have fun events like movie nights, and football related events before games.

Lubbock is full of fun things to do, especially for students coming from small towns with limited opportunities. There is a mall close to campus and several movie theaters in town. There is no shortage of great restaurants and coffee, smoothie, and frozen yogurt shops. Lubbock also has quite a few parks, churches, and bars within walking distance of campus. The campus has plenty to do for fun also. There are acting troops, a myriad of campus organizations, and student ministry groups that meet regularly. Scheduled events such as "Night at the SUB" keep students busy as well. Sometimes special speakers, singers, or comedians come to campus. This is not to mention all the sporting events on campus. Football games are a highlight of the fall semester. Most of the events held at Texas Tech are free to students, which makes them even more fun. Texas Tech has great facilities for students. The recreational center has an Olympic-sized pool and an outdoor "lazy river". There are multiple tennis courts, basketball courts, racquetball courts, and workout rooms. The rec center also has a climbing wall and an indoor running track. Outside there are volleyball courts and a beautiful walking path around a huge green field. On one corner of the campus lie the Ranching Heritage Center and the Texas Tech Museum. The museum has a planetarium. With these and more, it is easy to stay entertained on or off campus at Texas Tech.

I tend to study and workout for fun, however the rec is always crowded and the equipment is often neglected. When you tour the campus rec they only show you the lazy river because its their main attraction but ask around and youâ??ll get a better idea. I am an engineering major after all. Spare time is not a luxury I have.

There's a lot of on campus activities offered by the TAB and other university clubs. For people of age there's a good sized bar scene, but there's bars all over town not just on the college side of town.
