Every teacher will take the time to help their students if you let your presence be known to them. They will help you to reach your goals and better understand the course material. If you introduce yourself to them and show genuine interest in passing their class, they will keep their eye on you and be very helpful. In addition to learning inside the class, you learn alot about how other people from different backgrounds differ from yourself and it helps to make you a more well rounded person.

The city is a very college oriented city with both Texas Woman's and Univ. of North Texas being a few miles from each other. There a many things to do since the weekend begins on Thursday night. There are lots of places to eat and there is always something to get into that's affordable and safe.
Bang for the buck
TWU is not as expensive as other universities but you learn just as much- if not more!
Tips for prospective students
Apply for financial aid EARLY! Get to know your advisers before classes begin. Visit the campus to see if you feel you will like it there. Talk to current students who are majoring in what you intend to major in.
Great for these types of students
TWU is a great school for any one who doesn't want the cost and hassle of the larger universities, but still would like the feel of one. It is a very cozy home away from home. It has a friendly atmosphere, it's not very expensive, and if you are a Health Science major, this is one of the top schools to choose from- especially Nursing and Kinesiology.

Pride, dignity, and liberation are words that come to mind when I think about Texas Woman’s University. This school has a personal goal to make sure that every man and woman that attends knows of the struggles woman went through in the past and the subliminal messages that keep them beautifully ignorant today. This school is serious about what it stands for and the education its students will receive. You will be surrounded by educational stimuli everyday. There is no way you can attend Texas Woman’s University without learning something that may change the way you see life forever.

TWU is not a party school. In fact, our definition of fun is helping an organization in need or debating about the hottest topic. However, this also means attending this school can feel like all work and no play. If you are not careful, you can overwork and stress yourself out here.
Bang for the buck
TWU is not too expensive and they have great financial aid and scholarship opportunities. However, paying for an expensive parking sticker when there is barely parking can make you irritable. Paying over a thousand dollars for a food card when the food hardly changes and does not offer enough healthy alternatives can also make your irritable.
Tips for prospective students
Find friends that have your same goals in mind. Watch who your friends are because you do not want to have conflict in a small school this can make things uncomfortable and awkward when you run into someone you just got into argument with the previous day.
Keep yourself busy by joining various organizations and communities around school. This makes you feel better about not going to parties and getting drunk every Friday night.
Look for an apartment your sophomore year of college. TWU has a new policy where they will not allow you to live in the dorms if you are 21 or a junior/senior. The on campus apartments can be too hard and very expensive to get into. Get ahead of the game. You are better off finding a cheaper apartment and a roommate to split the cost with in apartments around Denton.
Great for these types of students
Students interested in Nursing or any other medical major.
Students who are serious about their education.
Students who do not find homecoming and football games important
Commuter students: TWU is a great school for commuters who live in the area.
Students with a family or Nontraditional students: This school is no stranger to nontraditional students. I had a woman in my class who was 55 and we are great friends today! We also have a daycare and a playground for children. However, I would not recommend the daycare because I have heard that they cost too much money and only watch your children for a small amount of time. I still say this school is great for students who have a family because our classes teach so much about family structure, and child development.

Every single one of the professors is dedicated to serving you and making your college experience great. They answer any and all questions you throw at them and truly care about how you're doing in their class.

I absolutely love it here! Not only is it a BEAUTIFUL campus, but it's small too! Having a small campus is so great because you never have to worry about being late to class or having to park 5 miles away.
Bang for the buck
I have been really surprised by the low tuition. The teachers and classes are spectacular, while costs stay relatively low.
Tips for prospective students
Take yourself seriously! Really work for what you want, and you will excel in all your walks.

I am truly learning a lot here. The teachers are for the most part very helpful and determined not only to get you an A, but to get you to learn.
Am enjoying being here
The campus is wonderful, it is a very small campus...and you can get from one end to the other in under 10 minutes by foot. Most of the buildings are very old and give it the real college campus feel. Most people are very friendly here and very social.
Bang for the buck
This is a great deal for a 4-year university! Compared to most others in Texas.
Tips for prospective students
If you're going for Nursing here, you need to be competitive. This college's main degree I would say is Nursing, which is both good and bad.

This is very inexpensive. I don't have any scholarships but it's very manageable for me. Compared to other schools the cost is GREAT!!
Tips for prospective students
just remember to always keep your focus cap on ,because you are here to work on getting that well earned degree. Make sure to have everything organized so deadlines are not missed. Form study groups if you need help studying. Always remember to have some time for yourself. You'll need a break in between sometimes so don't stress!!!!

I am learning more here then I thought I would. I was so nervous that I wouldn't be able to keep up, but the teachers here are amazing. They really know how to explain things in a way that you can understand.

I absolutely love Texas Woman's University. It's a beautiful campus and the staff here is amazing. Everyone is so nice and they do everything possible to help you with anything you need. I am very happy with my choice to go here. It was my first and only college choice, as soon as i took my tour of the campus all other choices went out the window. I knew that this is where I belonged.
Bang for the buck
The cost to attend is not that bad either. It's definitely not as expensive as most schools but its not real cheap. I come from a family with not a lot of money, but Texas Woman's University is definitely worth every penny we pay.
Tips for prospective students
You'll love it here. There are so many organizations to get involved with and help you find your home here. Everyone you meet will make you feel so welcome. This place is home to many now and we're just waiting to open our doors to whoever else would like to join our big family.
Great for these types of students
