All professors are approachable. Everyone greets you with a smile and academic advisors welcome you and tell you exactly what you need to do to get things done. There are learning centers with available tutors throughout the day if ever you need help with any of your classes. There is online help as well. It actually becomes easy to study so it no longer feels like a chore. Study groups can be found everywhere and welcome newcomers.

I haven't start yet but I went to see the campus and the staff and the students there been helpful. I can't wait to start my next chapter in UTRGV, I hope I have great journey and experience. There seem to be a lot of activity and clubs that I hope I will join to be more social with the community.

I am a born and raised valley girl. Living here for so long I'd always tell myself when I go to college I'm going leaving the valley. The reason being I want to become a Social Worker and in my mentality, I believed Social Workers were not essential to this area. But when I decided to attend UTRGV I was glad I stayed. I am learning a lot about social work and our communities problems and struggles. The University has a goal of all students being involved with our local community, so most professors find a way, either through a project or paper, to somehow impact, change, empower, help, etc. RGV's people. Due to there passionate advocacy for community involvement, amazing staff and professionals, as well as the campus, I rate this university Highly.

  • I am researching this school and have visited the campus

The campus is amazing, because it's small and the area alway seems to have something to do. Also, the cost of attendance is reasonable, so that is a benefit. It's a good school for a student that doesn't want to be in a large, busy city.
