Categories Comments What to do for fun NOTHING. The student organizations try to put things on but they're boring or lame. The concert at the beginning of the year was the only good thing and even then it sucked. Pensacola has nothing to do for fun that does not require money.
Food and Dining I received food poisoning 3 times from the market and was told I was crazy and it wasn't from the market. However, if you ask anyone they can tell you either them or someone they know has gotten sick from the market. Also you can tell when tours are coming through because the food is actually decent but after the tours go away the food is gross again.
Dorm Life Our hall director is awful. He is never here but when he is, he nit picks everything that is happening. The R.A's are either chill or like a drill sergeant, no in between. On our first room check everything was fine and between the first and second one we had not changed a single thing in the room but got wrote up on our second room check.
Academic Rigor I never had class, my professor always cancelled. The classes are either extremely easy or extremely hard.
Tips for prospective students They will fool you when you visit. Most students here will tell you that things were different when they visited and its not that same now that they attend.
In three sentences If you are from around the Pensacola area you will enjoy it. It is like a glorified high school since everyone already knows everyone and comes from the local area high schools. The campus is beautiful but there are more negatives than pluses.

Categories Comments Campus Safety the campus police are a joke to most students. i've always had trouble with them from stolen things to our nearly once a week aggregated assault. they either worry about things that don't matter or when you report something major to them they do nothing about it.
Great for these types of students people who want to transfer to better schools, druggies, and people who enjoy the beach, this is the college for you.
Bang for the buck it is a pretty cheap school, but you get what you pay for.
Greek Life the best thing at this university is greek life, as a member of greek life my brothers are family to me and other people in fraternities and sororities are very close knit. in general we have great activities to do with each other and compete it different sports and at the end were all friends and congratulate the winners.
Dorm Life the dorms are moderatly clean with only a few bundles of trash around. the desk workers are very friendly and great people. but in general they're very loud, destructive, and shouldn't even be considered i'd you want to study or if you dont want to have things stolen from you.
In three sentences uwf had a beautiful campus that is well kept and spread out. the facilities are accessible but hard to get appointments to use them. but not a good school for you if you want help anyone besides your professors; this includes housing, financial, and the police department.
What to do for fun in the warm months people go to the beach and go for walks. in the winter people either walk, do drugs, or have intercourse.
Food and Dining the food is usually delicious, the majority of workers are nice but some are not. the food had a tendency to give most of the students upset stomachs after eating there. in short, delicious but little variety.

Categories Comments Campus Safety I would often see unmanned patrol cars around campus, rarely saw actual guards. It seemed there was a pretty prevalent culture of taking physical advantage of drunken dorm girls. I was far from a part of this.
Great for these types of students Neurotypical societal cows.
What to do for fun It seems the main thing to do for fun on campus involved getting wasted and being generally irresponsible. I opted out of this particular facet of student life.
Food and Dining The food was generally flavorless and lacking in rounded nutrition, expensive and the dining areas offered no space where you weren't being droned numb by four walls of constantly streaming popular television.
Dorm Life Lived off campus
Academic Rigor The material wasn't hard, just taught poorly and without passion.
Tips for prospective students If you want any sort of respectful relationship with your science professors, seek another institution. If you enjoy being spoken down to and publicly humiliated for asking perfectly valid clarification questions in the midst of rushed lectures, this is the school for you.
In three sentences University of West Florida is a heartless business of a learning institution that treats it's students as monetary investments rather than individuals in the pursuit of higher learning. The faculty was rude and disconnected from their students, swatting away questions and clarifications with annoyed tones in both their classrooms and private offices, likely due to their gross disregard for effective class sizes. Their science curriculum, specifically zoology and chemistry 2 courses, also puts students without smartphones or without additional funding for constantly buying new equipment that could easily be loaned out are at a serious disadvantage, as much information was instructed to be recorded through cameras and made unavailable through other means of recording due to severely rushed time constraints.

Food and Dining Not my favorite, but it is what it is.
Dorm Life Not as bad as you would think. Definitely safe and clean. You make some of your best friends in your dorm!
Academic Rigor Many of my courses are challenging, but the teachers are very helpful.
Tips for prospective students Join lots of clubs, and get out there and make friends!

Categories Comments Bang for the buck My main reason for choosing UWF was the price. You get the private college experience for a small college price.
What to do for fun There are so many things to do for fun! We have numerous organizations, from Rotaract Club to the surf club! Whatever you want to do, we have it!
Food and Dining I love the location of the Starbucks! Since it is located on the first floor of the library I will never get tired while I'm studying.
Dorm Life I have not lived on campus but I throughly enjoyed visiting my friends in the dorms.
Academic Rigor I love being challenged by my classes. With that said, I have not encountered a class that I have felt was too hard. My professors have all been willing to help me to make sure I understand all the material.
Tips for prospective students Buy your parking decal before the first day of classes! Parking services is no joke, they will ticket you on the first day. Make sure to show up thirty minutes early. We have very limited parking so it is hard to find a spot sometimes.
In three sentences This is a beautiful campus. The classes are not large and you get to know your professors. Everybody you encounter is excited to have you at the school, such a friendly environment!

Categories Comments Campus Safety There is rarely any crime on campus, university police patrol the streets actively, and there are telephone boxes on every part of the campus that can alert the university police at a moments notice.
Greek Life The signs are there, but there is barley a presence of them on campus.
Clubs and Activities While the university advocates that it has a strong, diverse club life it is actually the opposite. The clubs are either athletic related, greek related, or school related, and clubs that are diverse do not receive the attention they need, or financial aid from the Student Government Association. Activities at the school are minimal, and childish. Athletic events are advertised, but the students barely go to these events because they are not football related.
Great for these types of students STEAM students.
Bang for the buck If you are planning to major in a STEAM field, especially marine science, or computer engineering, or need to complete your general education courses then this is the campus for you. It has a beautiful environment, the educational value here is underrated, and the people are friendly. However it is slightly more expensive then it should be. Especially the food, and dorms.
What to do for fun On campus a student can participate in athletic activities, playing games in the Commons, read books and watch movies in the library, or hang in their dorm. There is more to do outside of campus, but it requires transportation, and money. Especially the beach which is about 30 minutes away from the University of West Florida's main campus.
Food and Dining The main cafeteria for the school, the Nautilus Market, has average-to-mediocore food except during an open house, or a special event when the food is fresh, and cooked. The downside is that the price for the school's prepaid meal plan increases every semester by at least $300. The Argo Galley has better food than the Market, but is more expensive with smaller portion sizes. The other facilities have great food, especially the Chick-n-Grill, but are not part of the prepaid meal plan.
Dorm Life The dormitories are alright, but get better with every academic year. Would recommend living on campus than renting an apartment unless you cannot afford the dorms The students are nice to each other, and the RAs are a great help with anything. However, the activities in the dorms are uninteresting at times, and not many of the students leave their dorms.
Academic Rigor The rigor is easy to challenging depending on what subject you are good at. Projects, and essays, are given out at least two months ahead of time which gives a student plenty of time to go over any flaws. The professors know their stuff, and are great at communicating with the students even if the students ignore them because they don't care about the class. Professors also advocate an open discussion depending on the class.
Tips for prospective students --The cost of a prepaid meal plan increases by at least $300 each semester. It would be a good idea to learn how to cook. --Bring a ethernet cord. The dorms do not have wireless Internet, except the Southside Villages, and Village West. --Always carry a writing utensil, and paper. Some professors do not allow electronic devices in class. Also carry the class syllabus for each class as well. --The university offers a trolley system to get around campus, but the buildings are close enough together to walk to with ease. If you do not want to walk to each class, or wait for the trolley, then buy a bicycle or longboard. --Most classes will have their homework, tests, and projects online by the first day. A workload for a class can be completed in at least a month if you focus on completing everything before the due date.
In three sentences Great academic environment. Okay dormitories with no wireless Internet. Okay food, but it would be a good idea to learn how to cook.

Categories Comments Academic Rigor The classes at university definitely range from really easy to really difficult, depending on your major and the classes you choose to take for your general studies or gordon rule classes. But if you are serious about completing your college degree, this should not be a problem.
Tips for prospective students If it's too far away make sure that it's the school you want to attend, because Pensacola is a small city and there is not that much to do unless you know your way around the area. But if you love the beach, this school is perfect because it is only about 30 minutes away from the beaches here are gorgeous!
In three sentences The University of West Florida is an amazing campus with a lot of diversity among the students and faculty. The university is a best when choosing a school far enough away from home, but not out of state. I love the morale and spirit for the school is what keeps me having pride in my school.

Bang for the buck This is the cheapest university in the state of Florida.

Food and Dining Food and dinning could be a lot better.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Living on campus there has never been a moment when I didn't feel safe because the campus police are constantly patrolling the areas and making sure there isn't any thing unusual going on by even sending e-mails every week.
Clubs and Activities Everyday there are different students asking you to join or sending emails to each student about scholarships you can apply for or chances to get free books. The campus has many pep rallys which gathers students and shows school spirit.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus UWF has open mic night every wednesday where students can come out and show the talents that they have in front of most of the school.
What to do for fun The campus has an unlimited amount of activities and clubs to join. The gym is the place I love to attend the most because they have things such as rock climbing, basketball courts and dance rooms. Also there is a lounge where you can go and eat ,watch tv, play pool and relax.
Food and Dining Here at UWF there are a variety of dining choices such as Quiznos ,Papa johns and Moe's the food here is great and students are given a card with 300 bucks to attend any dining service on campus. The food in the cafeteria is also great, there are about 5 lines each with different types of dishes to choose from.
Dorm Life The dorms here at UWF are very fun my RA is always trying to do what he can to keep us occupied which makes staying on campus a great experience. Last semester all of the dorm halls competed in a series of athletic events to see who would hold the title as the best hall on campus.
Academic Rigor The teachers at UWF care about there students a lot and every decision they make is beneficial to us. All of the Academic Advisors seem to really want each student to succeed by placing us in the courses that are going to make the road to graduation smooth.
Tips for prospective students Students considering attending UWF should definitely take a campus tour because this school was very influential to my life, as an incoming freshman UWF made the transition from home alot easier.
In three sentences The University of West Florida is a great place to focus on your studies which gives you endless opportunities to succeed. The dinning is incredible and the campus has a bunch of activities to participate in each week. UWF is definitely a school that anyone would love to attend for there college career.

Categories Comments Food and Dining Besides Papa Johns, Seattle's Best Coffee and Starbucks the food choices on campus are few. While the Argo Galley does provide some variety, its in my opinion overly expensive. The mandated meal plan is a total waste, especially since I've gotten sick multiple times while eating at the Nautilus Market.
Dorm Life It's a little too noisy for my liking. Quiet hours aren't really enforced so no one is ever really respectful and quiet.
Academic Rigor Its a typical university. I took classes at a state college in the same town and honestly feel that those class were more difficult than UWFs.
In three sentences The campus is nice, fairly small. The class sizes are small which helps instructors to provide more one on one participation with students. I only wish the campus provided more activities on campus for students.

Categories Comments Campus Safety The safety on UWF is excellent. There is an appropriate amount of police where you feel safe, but not overwhelmed. I have always been able to use the hiking and biking trails safely and never saw anyone who I felt were out of place.
Greek Life I was in DSP. It is a professional fraternity. I do not know much about the Social fraternities on campus.
Clubs and Activities Being a non-traditional student, I wasn't involved in too many clubs/activities. I was in DSP, SVA, Dive Club, Republicans Club, and AIS.
Great for these types of students This University is great for those who want to take their education serious, and want the opportunity to be in greater positions such as the President of an Organization. This University also provides great opportunities to study abroad. So, great for those who want to study and travel.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Being a non-traditional student, I am not aware of any unusual traditions on campus. The other location is near Eglin AFB.
Bang for the buck Compared to other Universities in Florida, not only is it reasonably priced, but you are also getting a much better education because of the smaller student to teacher ration. This is not a money driven University like many others.
What to do for fun The dive club was what I did for fun. I enjoy diving and have dived all around the world. This club gives you the opportunity to increase your skill level and get in a large number of dives during the semester. Great break from studies!
Food and Dining I grew up around some of the best food in the US, so food is critical to me. The food offered at UWF is great quality and a variety. The buffet area is great, especially when you are starving.
Dorm Life I did not stay in dorms while attending UWF, but from the Grapevine, the dorms are excellent, and UWF staff with work with you on payments options.
Academic Rigor The academics are of excellent quality. Those that graduate have genuinely earned their degree. Because of the difficulty level, it sets a graduate up for some very prospective careers with larger companies in the US.
Tips for prospective students My tip to future students would be to give yourself a day just to walk around the campus. Sit in a class, and visit the departments you are interested in. Each lunch there because the food is pretty good.
In three sentences The University of West Florida is an outstanding University. Being a current student under the College of Business, I feel it offers a top of the line education, which is highly desired by some of the largest companies in the local area such as Boeing and Gulf Power. It offers a low student to teacher ratio. COB is brand new, and has excellent instructors. During my academic career, the staff and employees were very helpful. As a service member, their Military and Veteran's Resource Center is great and so helping, making it very easy to set up my benefits.

Categories Comments Campus Safety The University of West Florida has its own on-campus police station that runs 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The University also runs a blue-light system, which allows students to contact the police when they are in need of assistance.
Greek Life Greek Life is taken very seriously at the University of West Florida. Each Fraternity and Sorority is enriched with Brotherhood/Sisterhood and engage themselves in activities to better the community. There many different options of Fraternities or Sororities for a student to find where they are most comfortable in.
Great for these types of students The University of West Florida is great for students who are looking for opportunities to better themselves. At UWF, a students has the ability to be a big fish in a little pond.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus UWF is on a nature preserve. Which means that there is a free and accessible Nature Trail for all students to explore. The Nature Trail is open daily from dawn to midnight and has 1.3 miles of boardwalk for students to either exercise or enjoy a nice walk.
What to do for fun There are always events on campus that anyone can attend. Joining Greek Life also provides more experiences for a student to be a part of. Pensacola is such a great place to explore and make your own! The beaches are beautiful, the landmarks are historic, and the people truly define the meaning of Southern Hospitality.
Food and Dining The food provided in the dining hall is very diverse and can cater to anyone's needs. Besides the dining hall, there are other on-campus restaurants to choose from including the Argo Galley, Papa Johns, and Starbucks.
Dorm Life The University of West Florida has many different living options on campus. You can even prefer to live in a Hall with only Freshman, Sophomores, Upperclassman, or Honors students. There are new and older Residence Halls, but all are comfortable to live in.
Academic Rigor As well as for all other schools, there will always be hard and demanding classes, and there will also be classes that do not require as much time commitment. There are many different courses to choose from that would benefit yourself and work towards your Major.
Tips for prospective students -Take every opportunity that comes your way! Your four years in college can fly by so fast, you wouldn't want to miss out on any experiences! -Get involved on campus. Be known. Make a difference on campus. -Take advantage of the smaller community and make UWF, as well as Pensacola, your home.
In three sentences The University of West Florida is surrounded by a diverse community, filled with students from all over the world. The University provides many opportunities for students to become academically successful, become a campus leader, as well as have a meaningful college experience. The University of West Florida is a great environment to learn, explore, and grow.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Any time you feel uncomfortable, you can call a campus officer and they will escort you whereever. There are also these safety poles everywhere that if you touch them, they call the police. I feel very safe on campus!
Greek Life I'm personally not in a greek life club, but from what I hear they are great and there isnt any crazy things you have to do to get it.
Clubs and Activities If you think of it, we have the club, and if we for some reason we don't you can make it! Enough said!
Great for these types of students Great for students who want to be involved. There are so many clubs, frats and sororities to join.

Bang for the buck I say four stars because the actual classes are cheap! The books are decent, but if you live on campus you are required to have a meal plan which is a waste of about $2000.
What to do for fun Wellll.... there is a never ending list. There is always something going on on campus. They have so many events, like concerts, scavenger hunts, movies out on the cannon greens, but in case you aren't into that stuff, there is a very nice gym complete with free cycling, yoga, zumba, and pilates classes, a rockwall, plenty of workout equipment, an indoor track, and indoor and outdoor basketball, tennis, and volleyball courts. Also, there are I think four nature trails. You can rent canoes and bikes to ride on, and there is even an archeology museum on campus!
Food and Dining i have the meal plan which all first year students are required to have. At first it was great while I was trying to adapt to college life, but going through the semester the food got pathetic. It's like the people in the kitchen gave up. (This previous comment was based on the commons) i will say though that the Papa Johns is fantastic, the argo galley is awesome, and the Starbucks I go to practically everyday!
Dorm Life I live in Martin and the people there are so helpful. They are more than willing to help you study and they have tons of programs for everyone to get together and socialize. The rooms themselves are rather large compared to most of the other dorms I have looked in and they are pretty clean. If you have a problem, maintenance will come fix it quickly and for free.
Academic Rigor The professors here make learning both challenging but understandable. They are willing to help for the most part and are more than willing to stay after class or meet during office hours to assist you with any problems you may be having.
Tips for prospective students For your first year live in the housing on campus. You make so many new friends and have so many more opportunities to attend events on campus.
In three sentences This is such a great school with great professors, beautiful campuses, and wonderful people. With my family living 18 hours away, I was surprised how well I adapted to living away from home. There is always something to do and so many clubs to get involved with. I couldn't have picked a better college!

Categories Comments Campus Safety Every building has red phones that connect to the police, along with outdoor call boxes and campus police patrolling, no place is safer. The University also sends out text alerts if anything happens that may compromise safety.
Clubs and Activities We are just about to get a football team which will add to our already great sports teams.
Great for these types of students Students who need one on one time can find it here. The teacher freely post office hours and enjoy working with students.
What to do for fun There are so many clubs and organizations here it's crazy. You will never want for something to do. There are also nature trails and canoeing to keep the active student occupied.
Food and Dining There are quite a few places to eat on campus and all are good and reasonably priced. Not to mention just barely off campus is a Chick-fil-a.
Dorm Life I live off campus, but I hear the dorms are very nice.
Academic Rigor Just because this school is small does not mean that the classes are easier.
Tips for prospective students If you're looking for a good school, but not a huge one, this is the place for you. The teachers actually know your name and are willing to help. Just look out for a place to park.
In three sentences UWF is a small school that creates a perfect learning environment. The campus is small and cozy, and the teachers are excellent. I just really love this school.

And you can even find specific college nights during the week, if that's your things. If not, you can always hangout with the people outside your dorm, because there will Always be people.
Food and Dining With the meal plan, the cafeteria like food is actually really good. Also there are many separate food options that takes Argo bucks as well as any credit card or cash.
Dorm Life If greeklife is not an option, hanging out in the dorm you will meet many people also. There are always people going in and out, any hour of the day/night.
Academic Rigor The classes and academics are valued here by the students. Your fellow classmates are always willing to help each other.
Tips for prospective students Be ready for a small town-ish feel, house parties, and night road work. Definitely go greek to meet people, however the small schoolness makes greeklife serious!

Dorm Life Awesome, I love the dorm life here on campus.
Academic Rigor Classes aren't super hard, but does require well beyond just average effort. Professors make sure to push student to always do the best and submit above par work.
Tips for prospective students Get involved!! The student body is upbeat and energetic, get involved participating in various clubs, organizations, or activities. Make friends because you will always want to know at least two people in your classes. Lastly don't be afraid to get to know your professors. Many professors love that you want to know more about them, become buddies with them.

Categories Comments What to do for fun There are a lot of things to do on and off campus. There are always events going on around campus. And there are many clubs, bars, and night life off campus.
Food and Dining The meal plans are over priced. Everything is over priced. The Nautilus Market food isn't that good. Argo Galley is good so is the chick n grill and the quizznos. Papa John is great for that midnight snack. They sell not only pizza but also random snacks, drinks, and medicine. And ice cream.
Dorm Life Dorm life is fun. I've had many fun experiences with my friends in the dorms. You meet strange but fun new people you wouldn't meet other wise.
Academic Rigor I've learned a lot while I've been here so far. My Professors all really know their subject and make it fun. I always hated math and wasn't any good at it. I'm doing better than I ever have before.
Tips for prospective students Be yourself. The professors are really cool, they aren't going to treat you different from any other student. Study, college is expensive don't waste the money. Join a club. Be involved. There are plenty of things to get involved with. It'll help ease your stress and make friends.

Food and Dining If you go to the commons, they have a Quizno's and other restaurants where I would frequent for my lunch breaks between classes.
Dorm Life They currently have two new dorm buildings. They are simply breathtaking!

Categories Comments Campus Safety UWF has been awarded the second safest campus in Florida. They have twenty four hour police that are always no more than a minute away. Also, every 50 feet or so there are what look like electrical boxes that have blue lights at the top. These are call boxes that automatically contact you with the school police operators. If you are running from someone, they double as ultra sensitive alarms. If someone runs within a certain distance of them or hit them as they go, the alarm goes off and if you pass multiple boxes they all go off and will act as tracking for the police to find you. The police are also available 24-7 as an escort service for students to feel safer.
Greek Life I don't know much about Greek Life, but it is heavily promoted and endorsed by students.
Clubs and Activities If there isn't a club, there are many people you can find who would be interested in it!
Great for these types of students This campus is the perfect atmosphere for anyone!
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus At the campus 'get together' spot, the Cannon Green, you can often find parties hosted by the school and picnics at most any time. It is the site where a student archeological group found the exact same cannon that is ehhibited in the center of the green. There is an unusual tradition of new students kissing the cannon for good luck.
What to do for fun There are so many clubs and student groups. Off campus, just five minutes away is the beautiful Escambia Bay. May different malls, shopping opportunities, and food choices. just a few minutes away are historical sites open for the public!
Food and Dining Many on campus eating opportunities, including a student cafeteria, Papa Johns, subway, Starbucks, and so much more! A well priced dining plan as well.
Dorm Life Decently priced dorm rooms that are private, but a little small.
Academic Rigor Very studious people and very friendly staff.
Tips for prospective students If youy love nature and social environments, this is the school for you. Low tuition is a great plus as well!
In three sentences The University of West Florida has a beautiful, open campus with so many bright, friendly students waiting to meet you. With an informed and helpful staff, they are easily the most approachable student-friendly campus I've seen.

Categories Comments Campus Safety The campus for the University of West Florida is open so there is always a risk of something happening, but the police poles posted around the school help insure the campus's safety. If a student is ever in trouble they can press the button on any of these poles and get an immediate response from the campus police.
Greek Life The Greek Life at the University of West Florida is so much fun. There are many different and diverse sororities and fraternities to choose from. Greek Life gives a student the opportunity to get more involved in their community and make friendships that last a lifetime.
Clubs and Activities The University of West Florida has countless clubs and activities for students to enjoy. Ranging from Greek life to the Harry Potter club there is a club or activity for just about anyone at UWF.
Great for these types of students The University of West Florida is great for students looking for a school that is a medium size, campus and population wise. It is a great school for Marine Biology also because of the opportunities in the nearby Gulf of Mexico.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus The University of West Florida has annual festivities like Festival On The Green, and Argopalooza which gives students information about clubs and campus life.
Bang for the buck Overall the University of West Florida is worth your money. The university offers many opportunities to get involved in campus life and the academics are pretty good.
What to do for fun There are countless things you can do for fun at the University of West Florida, especially if you love nature. For example there are a ton of nature trails that you can ride your bike on, and you can also rent canoes and kayaks from the gym for free to ride in the little creeks that run throughout the trails. Most people go off campus for the fun though. Downtown Pensacola and the Pensacola beaches are big hangouts for college kids.
Food and Dining The food and dining at the University of West Florida is awful as a freshman. You are forced to have a meal plan at the Market which serves some of the nastiest food you can find. The Market never had any variety in their foods. The only good food on campus is in the Galley which has a subway and lots of other decent food. You can use your Argo Bucks, which come with your meal plan in the Galley or just pay with regular money.
Dorm Life The dorms at the University of West Florida vary from dorm to dorm.Heritage Hall is pretty decent and The rooms are reasonably sized and the bathrooms are clean. The RA's are very helpful in Heritage Hall and any of the other dorms. Presidents Hall is the newest installment and the nicest, but any of the dorms would be great choices.
Academic Rigor The academics at the University of West Florida are average. Some professors are average while others can be very good at their job. The classes seem to have purpose and they have been enjoyable for the most part.
Tips for prospective students The University of West Florida is a medium sized campus. If you are looking for a huge campus with tons of people and a big sports life it is probably not for you. This university tends to be for students looking for a smaller campus and a more small town feel, rather than a big university like FSU.
In three sentences The University of West Florida is fun and challenging. It has a beautiful campus with many exciting nature trails perfect for bike riding or for taking a relaxing walk. The campus is also only minutes from some of the most stunning beaches in Florida, I would highly recommend the University of West Florida to any prospective students.

Categories Comments Campus Safety I see a lot of parking tickets, and campus security setting up speed traps; i don't know how much safer campus security makes us, but from what i've seen they make it more unsafe. I mean we're already (more than likely) in debt just to go there, why you have to harass us when we are there.
Great for these types of students All.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus UWF Organic garden, planted and maintained by a volunteer base of students, faculty and friends of both.
Bang for the buck average compared to other universities. If your concerned with tuition costs look into tuition free schools. Some schools offer free tuition to students who are residents, or have disabled parents.
What to do for fun Sleep. Occasionally play video games.
Food and Dining Multiple stores and restaurants on campus, fill your cravings on foot or call for delivery.
Dorm Life I lived off campus but the dorm life section is required, so i thought i'd share a story. Once a student popped out of his dorm just to tell me there is no smoking on campus unless in a designated smoking area, then told me how he smokes on campus in non smoking areas.
Academic Rigor It depends on the class, obviously a into to... class isn't going to be overly challenging; however the major specific classes go in depth and involve more work.
Tips for prospective students Show up to class, do your homework, and hand everything in on time.
In three sentences UWF is a friendly but challenging environment; with plenty of students and faculty to offer assistance. The online resource center for students (eLearning) is highly unreliable at best. The UWF campus is big and too spaced out, get a bike or skate board.

Categories Comments Bang for the buck The cost of this school is one of the best for all the schools i looked at and applied to during my senior year. With money being tight it had the best price and the best education.
What to do for fun The school is so close to the beach that's fun right there. Also for incoming freshman they have argoconnect which is a site to meet other freshmen and through it fun outings and parties were planned before the semester even started.
Food and Dining There are great places to eat on campus. They have an all you can eat buffet. Also with the meal plans you can get 12 or 15 meals a week plus the $300 per semester like cash bucks for other food stuff not in the meal plan or quick snacks.
Dorm Life The first doem i was assigned to wasn't the one i wanted. Then after seeing it it still wasn't and my roommate didn't like it either so we put in a simple room change request.
Academic Rigor So far i have not been to classes since school hasn't started yet but once i make my schedule i will be visiting sites to see how my professors are.
Tips for prospective students Do research and if you ever have any questions there is a phone number at the bottom of the screen for each department you need. Sometimes they are busy so you will be asked to leave your name and student number, but they always call back.
In three sentences The school is great. At first it wasn't my first choice but do to its low tuition and argoconnect it soon became.

Food and Dining The food's quality could be a lot better, however, it is food, and it's perfectly fine.

Bang for the buck Fantastic pricing
What to do for fun There are so many activities to engage in. There is a club dealing with outdoor activities that is on my check list. Instead of sitting around being bored, GET INVOLVED!
Food and Dining Decent food and popular restaurants on campus. It's just not home made .
Dorm Life The dorms did not seem bad. Good accommodations and there is always a resident advisor for help. Although, dorm life has never been ideal for me. (I blame scary movies.) I am super excited about the apartments in the area. They are really nice and the tour guide was extremely helpful with which spots would be best.
Academic Rigor A Lot of personal attention with smaller class size.
Tips for prospective students The tour of the campus is extremely helpful in order to get familiar with the area and activities. Also, taking a drive around Pensacola wouldn't hurt. It's always good to know the surrounding area.

Categories Comments Campus Safety UWF has campus police that work well with the Pensacola Police. It can be anything from serious help to asking one of them to walk you to your car at night, and they are willing to help. They know how college kids are and they are willing to forgive certain situations.
Greek Life I don't know much about the Greek Life at UWF. I've heard it's pretty stereotypical, but I mean that's just something that you'll have to experience yourself.
Clubs and Activities There are so many clubs, it's almost crazy. I even initiated my own club ArgoAcappella. It's an easy process to make your own or to even sign up. Some groups charge members who join, but it's usually worth it. The groups on campus are also often known to going out in the community and helping.
Great for these types of students UWF is perfect for you if you prefer a smaller campus and tight knit communities. It's not one of those places where everybody knows everybody, but if you stay here long enough, you can definitely acquire a good group of friends. It's also great if you love the beach and outdoors. UWF is huge when it comes to being active.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus The Yellow Bikes. Every so often, during a huge break, bikes that are abandoned on campus are taken by the Bicycle Department on campus. They are then painted yellow, adjusted to run on one speed, and are placed in random places around campus. People just usually prank with them by hanging them in trees.
Bang for the buck Games and other events are always free to students. Also, when you are included in a department of your major, there are always free conventions and speakers. Even if they aren't free, they are extremely cheap. You can get your scuba license through the school for around $100 compared to $500 elsewhere.
What to do for fun SO MUCH. There's the beach, downtown, nature trails, and tons of clubs.
Food and Dining There's no beating home-cooked meals, but UWF does have quite a few options on campus. There's Quizno's, Starbucks, the Blue Bistro, and a Domino's. There isn't a McDonald's on campus though, which a lot of people complain about.
Dorm Life Let's just say...I've heard stories. I personally don't live on campus, but I hear that Martin Hall is where the party people go. Then, there are the stories of personal issues with roommates. In my opinion, I love living off campus.
Academic Rigor UWF has some easy A courses like beach sports. The core academic classes though are often difficult. The teachers are willing to work with you though if you put in the appropriate amount of effort.
Tips for prospective students If you are interested in a smaller campus, then I would definitely check out UWF. It also has a massive number of clubs, and is mostly popular for the nature scene.
In three sentences I would rate UWF 4 stars out of 5. There are minor flaws with campus accommodations, but otherwise it is ultimately a great school. Everyone is so relaxed and willing to do whatever it take to make sure you feel comfortable.

Clubs and Activities Aquatic Racing Paintball Skim-Boarding Climbing Pura Sabrosura Soccer Cycling Rugby - Men's Surf Dance Rugby - Women's Table Tennis Equestrian Running Ultimate Frisbee Fencing Sailing Wakeboard/Waterski Jiu-Jitsu SCUBA Wrestling Longboard Shotokan Karate
Great for these types of students Aren't afraid of the outdoors, likes trees (they are everywhere on campus), enjoys a smaller university.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus There is a very large Nature Trail that has millions of trials, an area for bonfires, a place off the nature trial to go camping.
Bang for the buck The money that you pay goes a long way. It is not that expensive and your money actually goes right back to the University.
What to do for fun You can go rock climbing indoor, go canoeing down the river in our nature trail, go walk and explore the nature trail, rent out equipment for sports for free, go on outdoor trips for free (sailing, camping), attend an event with free food at least once a week and so much more!
Food and Dining The Nautilus Market is AWESOME!! Burgers, fries, International Cuisine, American food and so much more! Breakfast, lunch and dinner are always so good! The desert is my favorite, cake, cookies and brownies!
Dorm Life Let's just say you have fun all the time and it is a great way to meet new people!
Academic Rigor The classes are small so there is a lot of one on one time available. All of the teachers are more than willing to help any student.
Tips for prospective students Bring your walking shoes for the hills and bathing suits since the crystal blue water and white sand beaches are just 20 minutes away! It may be easy to get in but it is extremely hard to graduate with your degree...you have to work hard for it.
In three sentences It has the best academic experience ever. The location is absolutely perfect - minus the hills (it's tough walking uphill all day). The experiences are unforgettable.

Categories Comments Campus Safety UWF has their own campus police. They're pretty relaxed if you get in trouble for partying, but then again they're strict on serious matters like personal safety.
Greek Life I know a lot of people who are involved in the Greek Life. Rushing is typical and challenging, but it's worth it from what I hear.
Clubs and Activities There's so many clubs. I've even started my own. It's called ArgoAcappella, a group of us students who sing and produce instrumental tracks with no instruments. There's also Harry Potter Club, Gay Straight Alliance, and Rugby, The range is so wide, anyone can find something.
Great for these types of students If you're chill, then UWF is a great place for you. Honestly this campus is the most laid back I've ever been to.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Bistro Blue is an UWF original curb-side van that serves gourmet food for cheap. Also, we've got these things called Yellow Bikes. All the bikes that get left on campus during long breaks get jacked, spray painted yellow, and altered to only run on one gear. Then, they're distributed around campus for anyone use. A majority of them get hung in trees though as a joke.
Bang for the buck It's college, what can I say? I've spent about 1200 on a semester of full-time hours. I don't know how that compares to other schools. Students do get into EVERY sporting/performance for free with their Nautilus Card.
What to do for fun The beach is literally 20 minutes away, there's a huge mall, and downtown is awesome. I can't stress it enough. There is always something to do. I prefer bowling with friends and going to the beach.
Food and Dining There's no McDonalds on campus, but there are other great places. There's a Quiznos and the Nautilus Market, Dominos, and the Blue Bistro. Oh! And a Starbucks. So overall, it's actually pretty nice.
Dorm Life Honestly it depends on the dorm and the situation you're put in. A majority of what I hear, are positive experiences. I've also heard though, that Martin Hall is where the party people stay, which can be annoying to some people.
Academic Rigor There are many classes that are academically challenging, but there are are also classes that are pure fun. If you're looking for challenging classes, but still may need that detailed help, the teachers here aren't afraid to break it down.
Tips for prospective students I would get everything done as early as possible when it comes to registering for class or even buying textbooks. UWF may be a small campus compared to other universities, but there is still a large demand for limited things.
In three sentences Faculty members seem to be honestly committed to better help and serve the students. Overall, even though I've only been here for less than I year, I believe UWF is completely underrated. This school has amazing programs of all types that have professional personnel.

Categories Comments What to do for fun Go to all plays, concerts, live bands, movie night, karaoke night, gallery auctions, balls, dances, field trips, everything that the different clubs organize because its all FREE especially some where transportation is included.
Food and Dining Be aware, the cafeteria food is always good in the beginning, but you are accommodated with $300 Argo bucks to spend on the different restaurants on campus
Dorm Life Choose wisely, the apartments off campus are cheaper, but they have suite like dorm settings, though the old buildings are less expensive. (However every other building is pretty much new).
Academic Rigor Take advantage of the learning centers and free tutoring sessions, they provide good service and food as well. become a part of the student success program, they give scholarship opportunities as well as a borrow book program so you would not have to worry about purchasing certain texts for class.
Tips for prospective students Take advantage of the learning center opportunities, everything is free and accommodated for students. If you need any financial or emotional support, talk to someone, they actually listen and try to help you in your situation. Most importantly get involve, there are to many activities that set you up in a good position for your career or leadership roles and they are all FREE.
In three sentences The University of West Florida embraces incoming students with welcoming arms in a diverse environment, where they are free to grow. Most classes are hands on and there are a lot of learning opportunities that aim to your academic success. Not to mention there are also programs that job shadow you in a career of your major, to ensure that you have hands on experience.

Categories Comments What to do for fun There are plenty of clubs on campus, and Greek life if you're interested. Also our school is located only fifteen minutes away from Pensacola Beach, where there are great restaurants and clubs to keep you entertained.
Food and Dining There are plenty or restaurants and dining options here on campus. Whether you're craving Papa Johns pizza, or shrimp creole, there is a wide variety of cuisines here at UWF.
Dorm Life There are no dorms here at UWF. There are Residence Halls. The difference between dorms and the UWF residence halls is that there is no community restrooms, each room here has its own bathroom. There is a wide variety of resident hall opportunities here. Some right in thee middle of campus, so you have easy access to everything, others with apartment style living.
Academic Rigor The academics here at UWF are challenging but absolutely achievable. I am sure that there will be classes at UWF that challenge your way of think, and cause you to move forward with a new perspective.
Tips for prospective students I encourage UWF students to come here with an open mind. UWF is a very accepting and diverse school, so an open mind will only brighten your experience here. Also, remember that your studies are important, but so is having fun. Try new things, and meet new people, join a club if that's your thing. Just be open to having the full college experience.
In three sentences The University of West Florida is a school thriving with diverse and promising students. The University is in the beautiful location of Pensacola, and there is an avid focus on studies and completing your goals. The University, in my opinion, is definitely one of Florida's best kept secrets.

Categories Comments Campus Safety The campus does have a full team of police and security guards that are always present on campus to keep a watchful eye on students, but not to hassle anyone. The campus police are actually very friendly and do everything from helping you find classes to patrolling every inch of the campus at night to make sure no one is causing trouble.
Greek Life UWF has the cheapest dues and fees for joining a fraternity or sorority within the state of Florida. All of the frats and sororities are active on campus and off campus doing anything from playing flag football, or helping raise money for a good cause. Also, any Greek organization that hazes or does anything that could constitute hazing is punished by being expelled from the university. So, there is literally no chance that you will go through the hazing that the Greeks at other students at other universities go through.
Clubs and Activities Over 20 clubs you can join ranging from Phillipino Student Society, to the campus Newspaper. Also there is always something going on where you can get free stuff like shirts or even free food.
Great for these types of students Any student would do great here because the community is awesome and the professors and staff are all here to help you not hinder you.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus The bayou is a little known pier that you can go to on campus that is great for fishing or just taking a walk to get out and do something.
Bang for the buck The tuition and fees are extremely cheap compared to other state schools in Florida. Also, when you take classes the professors make it a point to help you as much as possible. There are also extensive resources you could use if you need help such as the writing or math labs that are open 24 hours a day during finals week.
What to do for fun Go Greek!! Rush a fraternity or sorority. You can join multiple clubs around campus. There are also activities in the Residence halls or the Campus commons. Also, the gym is super nice and you can do anything from climb the rock wall, or rent a kayak and go kayaking with friends. Off campus there is a gigantic mall about 10 minutes away and multiple theaters or bowling alleys that are open until 12am.
Food and Dining There are multiple restaurants on campus as well as a food court style cafeteria. Off campus there are at least 25 places to eat within walking distance of the campus!
Dorm Life The Resident assistants do activities every week so there is never an excuse to be cramped up in your room. Also no matter what residence hall you live in they are spacious enough that you can be comfortable.
Academic Rigor Hard enough to make you work for your degree, but not so rigorous you over work yourself.
Tips for prospective students Apply for as many scholarships as possible. Get active at whatever college you attend. Make sure you prioritize; School first!!
In three sentences A very nice community. Small enough that you know a lot of people. However it is just big enough you do not see the same people every single day.

Great for these types of students This school is fun, but this type of school is for the ambitious and hard working.

Categories Comments What to do for fun The University of West Florida has an amazing amount of extra curricular activities you can participate in. They have a wonderful recreation activities building with activities ranging from Frisbee golf to kayaking to volleyball to hiking. There is also an amazing gym with everything from weights and basketball courts to tennis courts and a rock climbing wall that is awesome.
Food and Dining There are many places to eat and dine on campus and around campus that are within walking distance if you don't have a vehicle.
Dorm Life I have an apartment so I can't speak on the subject of dorm life.
Academic Rigor The University of West Florida has a wide range of courses to offer so you can make your schedule as simple or as tough as you desire.
Tips for prospective students The most helpful tip I can give to prospective students is to talk to your adviser, they are the most helpful ally in your academic journey.
In three sentences University of West Florida is in my opinion is one of the best educational institutions in the world. All of my professors are interested in their students and always willing to take time to help in any way they can. The campus is a beautiful place that is spread out just enough to not be crowded but not so much that you get lost or it take forever to get somewhere.

Categories Comments What to do for fun There's a gym for those who like to work out. The nature trail for nature-lovers. I, personally like the olympic-sized pools and tubs. The great thing about the school's location is that it's about 15 minutes away from the mall, and maybe 16-17 minutes away from the beach.
Food and Dining There is a wide range of food. It's almost always something delicious and I'm a very picky eater.
Dorm Life I'm a commuter, so I wouldn't personally know about dorm life; but I've heard a lot of my friends say that they love living on campus.
Tips for prospective students Make sure you learn where are classes are, beforehand. ALWAYS check your email; you never know when class will be cancelled! Also, always keep an umbrella in your car.
In three sentences A very friendly campus. The teacher's are great at their jobs, and you almost always get online feedback when you ask for it. It's very easy to get to places.

Categories Comments What to do for fun There are many campus activities to attend; so try to go to as many as possible! There is the gym, of course; the pool, tennis courts, intramural fields, rock climbing, and much more. Many people pick up the sport of long-boarding which is pretty cool. The parties are mediocre with a few really good ones.
Food and Dining At first, the food is pretty good. There are different food stations to choose from and the market has it's good and bad days. After a few weeks, however, the food becomes redundant and unappetizing. I usually look forward to the soft served ice cream, which is delicious! If you have a car, then there are many different restaurants to choose from off campus. Overall: the market food is alright, you get bored of your own groceries, and unless you have a mode of transportation don't plan on having too many options.
Dorm Life I currently stay in Heritage Hall and I love it! It is very spacious compared to the other dorm options, excluding Presidents Hall. The only downfall is the cost and parking availability. Next year, my roommate and I plan on staying in an apartment off campus.
Academic Rigor Although, I am only a Freshman, the work load is not bad: depending on what classes you take, how many credit hours, your major, etc.
Tips for prospective students Everyone is super friendly! Don't be scared to introduce yourself and make some friends.
In three sentences The University of West Florida is a great school: plus, it's much cheaper compared to the larger Universities in Florida.

Clubs and Activities something for everyone
Great for these types of students ones that need a sense of community
Bang for the buck The college is a bit cheaper than that of some of the other state colleges with the same credentials.
What to do for fun There is pretty much club for anything you would want to do on campus. they have paintball and surfing, etc.
Food and Dining I really like the food here. Some of the food vendors on campus can get to be expensive, but the market which is all you can eat is a
Dorm Life They could have done better with the roommate selection. Have more things in common so that there are not so many conflicts.
Tips for prospective students Make sure to study, and do all of your homework. I find that the breakfast is better than the food they have the rest of the day, so I like to go in the morning before classes.
In three sentences It is really a nice campus, being a nature preserve there are always beautiful plants and wildlife around. The teachers are all there trying to help their students learn, you can tell that they are not there just for a paycheck. There are just enough things to do on campus and right near by that you never have to be really bored, but there isnt so much that you are always distracted by something.

Categories Comments Campus Safety UWF currently has the second highest score out of all Florida colleges and universities. The only school better than UWF is a small private college in South Florida that has a quarter of the student population that UWF has. I personally feel very safe here on campus and I know that if anything was to happen to me that there would be a strong campus safety force looking out for my general well-being.
Greek Life There are numerous Fraternities and Sororities here on campus. Greek week is a campus wide event and it involves the whole university and not just those who are interested in joining a Greek society.
Clubs and Activities There's intramural sports, NCAA division two sports, and too many clubs to count. Have a specific interest that you know other people share and there isn't a club for it? Bring it up to the Office of Student Activities and they will point you in the direction of creating a new club for everyone to join.
Great for these types of students The University of West Florida is great for all types of students in my opinion. There is so much to do and so many different people from different backgrounds so their is a great mix of people to become friends with.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus The Edward Ball nature trail is said to be haunted and recently some supposed human bones were found on it. How recent? Try October 4th, 2012....
Bang for the buck Everything is affordable, from housing to tuition. The professors most often will pick a cheaper textbook from their available set and to me that makes a load of difference.
What to do for fun There are so many clubs already established here at campus and new ones are made every year. Some of the regular ones are the sports clubs and academic interest clubs but there are also some pretty cool clubs such as the Harry Potter club, the Fencing club, and the Spongebob Squarepants club. If you can't find anything that fits your interests here on campus then there is something seriously wrong.
Food and Dining The food is awesome but there is little variety. Everything tastes great and is always hot and in abundance. The dining facility (Nautilus Market) is a great place to eat, meet new people, and find out what is going on throughout the campus.
Dorm Life As a resident of UWF i can say that living on campus is excellent here. The dorms are affordable and an awesome place to spend your time in college at. There are many options of living on campus, all of which come with their own perks that allow their residents to really feel at home. I love living on campus and plan on doing for my entire four years here.
Academic Rigor The classes are well equipped and the professors are all professionals in their respective fields of study. That makes learning challenging, but not overwhelming and everyone here is friendly and eager to help out a fellow Argo with any problem they may have.
Tips for prospective students Some of my tips for prospective students are to research all of the opportunity hear at UWF. There are so many things to do and to get involved with. The Pensacola metro area is an excellent source of internship opportunities and is small enough that it won't overwhelm anyone.
In three sentences The University of West Florida holds that charm that most universities don't have. For instance, as a student here at UWF, all of my professors know me by name and not by my student number, and to me that really speaks as to how special the university is. I am proud to say that I am a University of West Florida Argo!

Greek Life There are a lof of ones to choose from. Everyone is so nice, and they are strict on the no hazing.
Clubs and Activities There are so many clubs to pick from. Pretty much anything you are in to has a club, and if not, students are encouraged to start a club.
Great for these types of students Work hard your first year!
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Rush week is really fun.
Bang for the buck Great value for college!
What to do for fun Go to the beach! Also, there are tons of clubs on campus you can join- I love the equestrian club.
Food and Dining There are tons of good places to eat on campus. You dont have to do a meal plan to eat good food.
Dorm Life I hear people love it because they do not have to compete for parking and they become familiar with the campus much faster.
Academic Rigor I am pre-med so I have to make A's in all of my classes.
Tips for prospective students Apply Early! The quicker you get your application in, the more chance you have to get in and to get scholarship money. Also, ask around before you sign up for just any professor. Try to make the most out of your first year!
In three sentences The area is amazing! I love being close to the beach, and the sunny warm weather most of the year. The campus is not too big, but it has plenty of things going on for new students.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Campus safety is great and very secure. There are emergency call boxes all around campus that have lights on them which make them easy to spot. There are a lot of campus security patrolling all day and night.
Greek Life Over 8 different greek groups on campus that I researched. They all have great reasons for joining.
Clubs and Activities There are so many clubs and activities that I don't even know where to begin.
What to do for fun I like to exercise, so the two floor gym at UWF is a bonus to me. The gym offers so many different activities including Zumba. I also like to socialize so the campus commons area is awesome for providing the space to do that.
Food and Dining All I can say is wow! There are so many places on campus to choose from to eat with one being a buffet for under $8. The food is great and they even have popular restaurants on campus.
Dorm Life I toured a couple of the many living areas on campus and they are really nice. The dorms have common areas where all the residents can come together and socialize. I would say the underclassmen living areas are mediocre compared to upperclassmen living areas.
Academic Rigor I was told from current students and I also read that UWF is good about ensuring the students get an education that is well eorth their money. I was told as long as you study and do your assignments you will do fine. The Grading scale is fair.
Tips for prospective students Get to know the faculty over your educational department, because they may be able to help you get scholarships or they may even have books to loan to you. Get the feel of the campus by taking a campus tour and become familiar with the campus, because I rode around lost for 20 minutes after my third time visiting the campus. Research the different clubs UWF offers and see which ones interest you so that you can socialize and meet other students.
In three sentences UWF appears to be a great school and I am looking forward to attending. This campus caters to the students needs for recreation and many on campus diners. If you ask me this college is a A- school for the simple fact that you have to pay $66 for a parking decal per semester.

Categories Comments Campus Safety UWF makes sure the each student is protected with the utmost care. The campus police are always making rounds no matter what time of day it is, and will come to help any one in need of it.
Clubs and Activities All the clubs and activities are very active in the life on campus. It is thanks to them that many of the events on campus are as fun and free as they are now. Everyone is so very welcoming in each and every club.
Bang for the buck The tuition is one of the best in the entire state.
What to do for fun The campus holds many events all year round, whether it be comedians to musicians they are always making sure the students are having a very fulfilling college life. They have dances, and concerts, and a few festivals. There is a gym on campus that has some of the latest equipment and the gym also has a rock climbing area. A personal favorite of many students is the Olympic size pool with two diving boards available for use.
Food and Dining The food in the Argo Galley is really good but very pricey. The Nautilus Market is good, but the food does get old very fast. They don't really update their menu often enough, but they do hold events in which they make extremely delicious food. The Market has different types of food, a salad bar, breakfast area, burgers, Italian, and even Mexican. It is very versatile.
Dorm Life Dorm life is absolutely amazing! You make many great friends, that hopefully you will get to keep throughout your college career and even longer. The rooms are fairly nice and everyone there becomes your family.
Academic Rigor Just like in any college, it will challenge you to your fullest. It isn't high school any more and you cannot procrastinate on a lot of the classes that they have to offer. Take everything seriously, if a Professor takes the time to write down something you really do need to know it. Attending class is mandatory for most of them and each and every class is unique in its own way.
Tips for prospective students Come to UWF with an open mind and ready to make lots of friends! The spirit here is so amazing you'll be knocked off your feet. The campus isn't too big but everything has a good distance between it. Attend all the events on campus because you get so much free stuff and food!!
In three sentences The University of West Florida is an eco-friendly campus that applies to any type of student. All of the staff and professors there are friendly and are always trying to make sure that you do your very best in each and every class. The University has many different places for every student to go if he or she is struggling in a subject or just needs a little help.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students ANY !
Bang for the buck UWF is the second cheapest University in Florida. So this is definitely a bang for the buck !
What to do for fun The beach is amazing, you have to go. And if you can't, the housing recreational staff always have fun things to do weekly, like para-sailing, tubing, sailing etc.
Food and Dining The food is okay. It depends on what you like though. But the dining is very clean and they are always on time with opening and closing and you get your food fast.
Dorm Life Some do not like the dorms because they like to have big spaces and such but I love the dorms. The dorms gets you more involved on campus and your social life will greatly increase rather then staying in an apartment. Compared to other colleges I've seen, West Florida's dorms are number one. We have more amenities then any other University dorm that I have seen.
Academic Rigor All academics depend on the professors you have but you are at an University so you will be challenged.
Tips for prospective students Make sure you apply early for everything you do! You do not want to be stuck because you procrastinated. Furthermore, always go to class. Yes, there will be times where you just do not feel like going to class but going is way better then failing!
In three sentences This beautiful Universities campus is breath-taking as well as academically beneficial for the students. With the small classroom sizes and lots of tutors, students are only at an advantage for their education. The landscape and campus activities will assure that the students are being active and maybe even become leaders in the community.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Safety is pretty good. There are numerous Panic boxes and police are constantly driving around on their golf carts.
Greek Life A lot of Greek Life. Just be careful with what Frat/Sorority you choose. They are NOT all equal.
Clubs and Activities Great clubs like Paintball and intramural sports.
Great for these types of students Partiers, Drinkers, Sorority/Fraternity, less-serious people.
What to do for fun If you're not a partier or drinker, there really isn't much except for the gym and pool.
Food and Dining Some of the food is good and other food sucks.
Dorm Life I can't answer this question fairly as I live off campus.
Academic Rigor The work is not so much rigorous as the fact as their is a lot of it. For example, one class may have 5 essay's due, but their probably not going to be very hard.
Tips for prospective students If you choose to go to this University, just be prepared for instructors who believe no one is right except themselves.
In three sentences The University of West Florida is the cheapest for in-state students, but there is a reason for this. The school has mediocre staff and instructors who mostly don't care about anything but the paycheck. Also, don't believe their claims about the University being environmentally friendly, as they continue to destroy the greenery they do have.

Categories Comments What to do for fun For fun UWF has many things that other schools have such as the gym, althetic games and cook outs. There is also shopping not far from the university.
Food and Dining UWF has several places on campus to eat and the food quality is pretty good.
Dorm Life I do not live in a dorm but my boyfriend enjoyed staying in the dorms.
Tips for prospective students I would suggest this school, there are great teachers at this school and many people who are willing to help you.
In three sentences I like this school, it is a great enviroment. The teachers are helpful and they have many rsources to help you. All the faculty are very nice and always willing to help out.

Categories Comments Greek Life I will not be attending Greek Life.
Great for these types of students Who love a warm atmosphere. Like small classrooms where you have a close relation to their students. And who like a variety of clubs.
What to do for fun There are a lot of inter-murals that are available. A lot of clubs to join.
Tips for prospective students Visit the college, save money for your orientation, it can get expensive, and save money for books. Don't get all of your books from the University store. Check out half.com chegg.com amazon.com. I would suggest getting you first semester books as actual books, not the digital copy to see how you like it.
In three sentences The campus atmosphere is rated a 4 out of 5. The class room size is rated 5 out of 5. The security is rated 4 out of 5.

Categories Comments Campus Safety The University sends alerts called Argo Alerts to your email, or in a text if you sign up, when there is any kind of danger or important news about the weather, parking, or threats. All buildings are locked after 10:00 pm.
Greek Life There are several fraternities and sororities that are great.
Clubs and Activities There are clubs available in every department, as well as ones organized by students, and they are usually pretty easy to get in to. You will definitely find a club for you. New clubs are started every year, so check with the department associated with your Major, and don't be afraid to start one yourself. As a Music Performance Major, I was in the Music Honors Council for two years. The Council worked with teachers and students to enhance communication and to get our fellow music students involved in the department, and we had a lot of fun, too.
Great for these types of students If you like the outdoors and going on hikes or walks, this is a great choice for you!
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Festival on the Green is an event that occurs every Spring in which local artists and vendors of all walks sell their wares on the fields near the Commons. The Library will sell books, magazines, and other things that could be interesting to some. The Band and Jazz Bands perform, as well as other groups for entertainment. Most clubs and programs have tables with brochures and other things on them. Several people dress in costume as well, although I have yet to discover why. I look forward to it every year. Also, be on the alert for random social events sponsored by different groups in the Commoms- they usually have free food.
Bang for the buck This University has the largest campus (square miles) that I have ever been on. There are Nature Trails and Kayaking opportunities, as well as a gym and several fields for sports.
What to do for fun The Nature Trails are great, as well as random events sponsored by different organizations and programs. Also, there is a trolley that goes off campus to the shopping mall and other shops in the city during certain times of the day.
Food and Dining There is a large variety of food selections for vegans and meat-eaters. It is definitely better than several other colleges I have visited. My favorite is the Outtakes Quick Cuisine bar. The food quality at this school gets better every year!
Dorm Life I have never lived in a dorm, however I have visited a few of them and they are pretty clean. There are usually two desks, beds, and dressers in each dorm, as well as two sinks and a medium sized closet. The rooms smelled clean and there weren't any stains on the carpets. I haven't seen all of them, though.
Academic Rigor It is moderate. If you attend every class, do your homework, and take notes you will pass most of your classes with minimal study time.
Tips for prospective students Map out the location of your classes before the first week of classes because the campus grounds are huge and it is easy to get lost. Keep a map around, it will come in handy. Also, there is limited parking. If you drive, arrive early and park in a space close to most of your classes and walk to them. Keeping your car in one place most of the day does wonders for your stress levels, just make sure you get a parking decal.
In three sentences It is a small school that is growing rapidly. Not every department is absolutely amazing, but the teachers are very accessible and most of them genuinely care about the success of their students. The campus grounds are huge, so be prepared to walk a lot.

Categories Comments Campus Safety This campus is prone to people going missing and crime. and their militant parking enforcement doesn't help
Clubs and Activities there are diverse clubs. including long-boarding and wake boarding
Great for these types of students outdoorsy students, and computer science, engineering, and business students
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus nature trail
Bang for the buck We are paying a big university price, and we aren't getting big university environment or admin quality.
What to do for fun Kyaking, canoeing, gym, pool, longboarding, beach, trial riding
Tips for prospective students Pay close attention to what classes are available for the next 2 semesters, and talk to students in your major about classes to take to prepare you for upper level classes.
In three sentences UWF is very committed to growing, and campus life. But their admins can be militant, and financial Aid is NOT accommodating (they are insulting). Class scheduling is a a pain because some classes aren't offered in both fall and spring.

Categories Comments Campus Safety We have had some incidents lately that have made campus a little more scary. However, the university is making an effort to get to the root of the issues and make campus more secure.
Great for these types of students The business program is great. I would also recommend the English department as they have been truly challenging and interesting to me. Right now, our focus is still on the academics, but sports are beginning to become our spotlight so a student interested in becoming the beginning of a football program might be interested in UWF.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus We have some of the best biking trails in the area given the changes in elevation that take place on the land. There are also a number of people who walk, ride their horses, come to bird watch, and do a number of activities on the trails. We have our very own pair of nesting eagles, which are in a protected area of our wildlife sanctuary. We also have a beautiful number of trees and a natural looking campus. The natural setting of our university is truly one of our greatest assets.
Bang for the buck For the most part, I feel like my money has been well spent. There have been a few instances in which a teacher or class was a dud and I felt disappointed in the lack of knowledge or willingness to really teach the class. Those have been only few though. For the most part, I find the teachers to be enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and excited to be teaching.
What to do for fun There are a number of things of a nature adventure that can be done on campus. The bike trails are good for biking, walking, bird watching, horseback riding, and so on. The university also rents out canoes and kayaks and they have a rock wall for climbing. On the less physical side, they have movie showings and other campus events. There is also Pensacola Beach, which isn't too long a drive from campus and is one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, as well as Downtown Pensacola for nights out on the town.
Food and Dining They have several quick options that aren't too bad. I have not had the food provided in the cafeteria, but they do also have a Quiznos and some other fast food type options, as well as a Starbucks in the library.
Dorm Life I do not live on campus and have not had experience with dorm life, so I cannot comment on it except to say that they are in the process of building brand new dorm buildings.
Academic Rigor I am almost constantly challenged and pushed by my teachers, though not unfairly. They have high, but achievable through hard work, expectations. There have only been a few times in which I thought the academic expectations in a class were too low or not useful.
Tips for prospective students Be prepared for a university that may be very different by the time you graduate. Don't be afraid to talk to your professors, they are often far more willing to help than you'd think and can be very fascinating just to talk to. Eat your lunch outside whenever you can because the trees and surrounding nature are lovely. Get involved in activities and clubs because it's a great way to meet new people and have a good time.
In three sentences The teachers are student oriented and are willing to spend extra time with students as needed. The future direction of the university, unfortunately, seems to be deviating away from academics and towards sports. The university has a treasure of nature trails and wildlife preserves, but they may not be there in the future and that is truly a loss for the university and the surrounding area.

Categories Comments Campus Safety There are several posts with emergeny phones around campus. Police escorts are available at request.
Greek Life UWF has a small but wonderful Greek community. With seven fraternites and four sororities, we have just elected to welcome a fifth sorority on campus. Greek life is very involved in the community and we are currently working on introducing a Greek row!!
Clubs and Activities Intramural sports, free gym with tuition, swim, improv, harry potter, BBQ, Marine conservation, and over 100 more clubs!
Great for these types of students UWF is great for outgoing and outdoors loving students! We have over 600 acres of land and are one of the biggest campuses in the US. Great marine & PR programs.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Festival on the Greens is a large arts festival held on campus every year that the entire city comes out to enjoy.
Bang for the buck UWF is one of the cheaper universities around although cost IS quickly rising with a 15% tuition increase this semester alone.
What to do for fun Pensacola Beach is incredible. Go Greek. Improv shows, plays, intramural sports, $2 movies off campus, free concerts weekly off campus. clubs have cover specials with student ID & more!
Food and Dining The Nautty market is awesome! UWF also has a couple food vans around campus.
Dorm Life UWF has several new dorm facilities but are more pricey than living off campus.
Academic Rigor The majority of classes are rather challenging and require much study time.
Tips for prospective students Studying is now crucial. Go Greek! Ride the trolleys everywhere. Buy used books or rent them.
In three sentences UWF is a great school that has opened a whole new world in my gorgeous hometown, Pensacola, Fl. The classes are small and the majority of the professors are awesome and really helpful. UWF also has a great Greek community that is growing quickly!

Categories Comments Campus Safety The campus is filled with blue lights that allow students to call University Police at any time of the day if they need to report something, need an escort across campus, or feel unsafe in anyway. The campus police are very friendly and can be seen roaming the campus as well as making friendly visits to the residence halls.
Clubs and Activities The University of West Florida offers almost any club or activity that you can think of, and if they don't, you can create it. There is no discrimination in the types of clubs on campus. UWF has one of the largest Gay-Straight-Alliances in all of Florida.
Great for these types of students The University of West Florida is great for students who enjoy small class sizes and getting to know both their fellow classmates and their instructors. It is a good place for students who don't want to go to a big school where football is a major focus point, but instead focuses on the other athletics.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus The University of West Florida does not have a football team, so the Homecoming activities are focused around the Men's and Women's soccer teams. There is a Battle of the Hallstars for students who live on campus, where they can compete with their hall against the other residence halls. There is also a bayou where students can canoe or kayak that many students don't know about.
Bang for the buck The University of West Florida is definitely worth a visit. IT is one giant melting pot of students from all over the world and from many diverse backgrounds. It will be the experience of a lifetime.
What to do for fun The Pensacola fair comes around every October and is a great experience for people of all ages. There is also a haunted tour every October. During a majority of the year, the beach is always a great place to go, full of exciting places to eat and go out. Sam's Fun City is located close to the campus, where students can go to play laser tag or race go-carts. There are theaters, museums, skating rinks, and plenty of shopping areas nearby.
Food and Dining The food will seem fantastic at first, but the lack of healthy and diverse options leaves one attending the cafeteria less and less as the years progress. The rates of the food items are a bit high and sometimes unreasonable. I spoke with the head of the food provider, and he seemed very uninterested in listening to students' opinions.
Dorm Life The residence life is fantastic. The housing staff puts a lot of effort into making inclusive environments for the residents and making sure that none of the students feel unwelcome. The programs provide great opportunities for students to meet other students in their residence hall.
Academic Rigor Depending on your major and class load, the difficulty of the classes can be challenging. There are a couple classes where students are known to fail out at a one third rate.
Tips for prospective students Get involved on campus early on by attending events and joining clubs. If you live on campus, be sure to attend your RA's programs, it will help you to meet other residents in your building.
In three sentences This University is small and easy to operate. Class sizes are of a decent size to allow you to get a thorough education. The campus life the other students make the experience worth while.

Dorm Life It's probably great.
Tips for prospective students This is going to be a great school because it's so many different majors to choose from.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Their are these poles every hundred feet or so that have a phone on them and if you open the box or bump into it hard the police are called to that spot immediately.
Greek Life I haven't heard much about the Greek life yet, but there is no way it can't be great.
Clubs and Activities There are tones of clubs, my boyfriends already joined the outdoors club, where every so often you go on these amazing trips to hike or bike or to rock climb out in nature. They have something for everyone.
Great for these types of students I'd say the art building is definitely perfect for all art kinds and id imagine the same goes for all other buildings and their majors.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Since its my first semester i have no idea yet.
Bang for the buck well since its my first semester here i haven't experienced much but i know that with my nautilus card i can rent so many things for free and that is a big plus to me.
What to do for fun Well i hear they have a rock climbing wall, always wanted to try that! and there is so many things you can rent for free like kayaks, which is my new favorite thing, but there is so much like concerts and such.
Food and Dining only eaten there a couple times so far, but it has a great variety and is really delicious.
Dorm Life I have no idea, i live off campus at my house but one of my friends says that that is where the real college experience is.
Academic Rigor This is only my first class there but i can already the standards are high and they'll do whatever to help you meet those standards and exceed them.
Tips for prospective students Take a tour of the building with your intended major, it changes your perspective of everything by seeing where your going to be for 4 years.
In three sentences This was the first University i visited, and everyone always said you'll know if it's the one for you. Well i knew it was the one for me when i took a tour of the fine arts building. It was everything i had imagined it would be and after that so was the rest of the campus.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Actually our school is rated #1 for campus security in our region. The officers on campus are friendly and patrol the area 24/7, and have made the campus safe for all the students and staff in attendance there.
Greek Life The sorority sisters of Alpha Phi Alpha were extremely friendly and they are heavily involved in community service. As a former Step Team Captain at my High School and a active community service partcipate it was great knowing I can continue on that path.
Clubs and Activities The clubs are so many that as a Freshman being careful not to join too many clubs in your Freshman year. I intend to enroll in Army ROTC to learn discipline and to maybe look into joining the reserves or enlist.
Great for these types of students If you are a Christian student and know that some of the activities want be something you are interested in; they offer clubs and memberships for students Chrisian students. This helps when you just want to connect with someone who has the same value system and beliefs as you do.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus The school has movie night on campus once a week on the lawns. It is a time for students to socialize and enjoy free food while relaxing from the vigorous pace of classes.
Bang for the buck The campus is mainly made of traditional students but with a growing number of non-traditional students rising each year. Many people are going back to school to earn a higher degree to become more competitive in their current field. My mom attends college online for that very reason.
What to do for fun The campus offers over 150 clubs that you can become involved in, from Greek, Sports, Political, Mentoring, Armed Forces just to name a few. There are many functions that are offered throughout the year on campus where they serve free food and entertainment.
Food and Dining The dining hall is a all-you-can-eat buffet with many different types of foods to chose from. It has comfortable seating and the ambiance in the dining facility is comfortable and relaxing.
Dorm Life The dorms are fairly new and in good shape. The school is continuing to build new dorms and you want have to be a Senior before you are able to enjoy being a resident there. Even though the rooms are small, it is spacious enough for the number of Freshman that are enrolled.
Academic Rigor The University has this 3-D room in the Engineering department that is very impressive. The ratio of students to staff is small, so they tend to push students to perform at the highest level that they can.
Tips for prospective students Prospective students don't be afraid to ask questions if you are unsure about something. Read through the information that is presented to you and know that there are people at the school who are willing to help anyone who needs assistance. Make new friends and don't become so overwhelmed that you lose focus on why you are in school in the first place.
In three sentences The University staff are friendly and willing to help out Freshmen that have never been away from home. The campus is fairly new and the dorm rooms are awesome. The rating I would give the University on a scale from one to ten, it definitely would be a 9.

Great for these types of students Students that value a college that want the students to have a pathway to continuing their education to graduate level in graduate schools of their choice. The staff value the success of the students.

What to do for fun The University has the athletic department complete with swimming pool, tennis courts, frisbee golf, and other athletic sports amenities; the campus also boasts of a large nature trail and a creek with canoes and kayaks that spill out into the nearby Escambia Bay. The city that the University is located in provides a very large variety of activities as well, including an amazing beach and a monthly Art night called Gallery Nights.
Food and Dining University of West Florida has a lot of options for food in a small food court style Cafeteria. A student has the option of a menu set by the school chef or choose between a couple sandwich shops for healthy choices.
Dorm Life I do not live in a dorm on campus but there are many dorms to choose from and many options to a living situation available. Such options include how many roommates a student would choose to match the amount of money one wants to spend on dorm rooms.
Academic Rigor Dedicated teaching staff in making sure students have what they need for classes and spend countless hours after class in assisting their students.
Tips for prospective students Talk to specific advisers on campus, the advisers and staff in this University dedicate a lot of time in making sure you have the information or accommodation you need or will direct you to the person you need to speak to if they can not help you themselves.
In three sentences University of West Florida is the only University in Florida that has an expanding Fine Arts Department. Categories Comments Campus Safety There's a police station on campus, right next to the cafeteria. Very safe campus, never had any disturbances or problems.
Greek Life There are some fraternities and sororities on campus, but I do not know much about them since I've never been really into Greek Life.
Great for these types of students Once again the Honors Progam is great and the Honors Hall (Pace Hall) is safe, quiet and a has study rooms, which are great places to study.
What to do for fun Their are some clubs and dancing classes in the area. Getaway (night club close to campus) was really fun, you have to be 18 to enter. Cabanas is a small club near UWF that all the Freshmen would go to during Fall Semester. Their is also a beach nearby, I personally have never been but I heard it's nice.
Food and Dining The Nautilus Market (University of West Florida Cafeteria), is a buffet and you pay just one time to enter and then you can eat as much as you want. The food is not too good. The veggie burgers and fries are the best thing about the Nautilus Market, fries sometime have Cajun seasoning, which is to die for.
Dorm Life Dorm life is pretty boring; people sometimes just wander the halls looking for something to do;usually you'll see people playing their Xbox 360's or PS3's in the TV room for entertainment. Sometimes we talk in the upstairs lobby, but that's about it. I remember we had a sexual health event at Pace Hall; where the RA's(resident assistant) gave out free condoms. That was pretty fun!
Academic Rigor The bigger the class size, generally I noticed the harder the class because that equates to less time for the instructor to focus on student's individual needs, and instead the instructor is just trying to keep pace with the rest of his/her department's lecture deadlines.
Tips for prospective students Get your teachers to notice you, ask questions and introduce yourself to them after the first day of class if possible. In this school, if you are struggling academically tell your counselors and get tutoring ASAP. Make friends, walk around campus and most importantly have fun!Join as much clubs as possible, UWF has a club for almost everything! They even have a World of Warcraft Club!
In three sentences The University of West Florida has a great honors program, which is very involved in the community and encourages academic success. It is constantly growing and building, with a new resident's hall being opened this upcoming Fall semester. It has a really nice nature trail in back of the campus, perfect for biking or hiking!

Categories Comments Campus Safety There is a security detail that you can call at any time to escort you anywhere on campus.
Clubs and Activities There are many clubs and activities on campus. I am sure everyone can find a club they feel comfortable with. Any club that is not already available can be started.
Great for these types of students This university is great for students who like smaller classroom settings and a smaller campus. Students who enjoy the outdoors would also really enjoy this campus.
Bang for the buck The prices on campus are okay but if you have the opportunity you get more for your money at a store of campus.
What to do for fun The fall semester is full of many activities on campus; however, the spring semester can get a little boring. There is not as many on campus activities. There are always clubs to join.
Food and Dining Some students say you need to get used to the food. The choices are pretty repetitive.
Dorm Life Some dorms are nicer than others. Also, if you are not a big fan of sharing a room/bathroom, this may not be the choice for you. Some students have better experiences than others.
Academic Rigor The general studies classes are easy if you do the assigned work. Of course the higher level classes are harder but again, if the time is put in, there will be good results.
Tips for prospective students Make sure that this is the school you want to go to. The campus is small and although there is a trolley service, many students walk all over the campus. It may seem like all the students know each other and some do not like that. Also, many do not like the nature feel to the campus.
In three sentences Overall, the University of West Florida is a great school. The people here are very friendly and make everyone feel welcome. The professors are kind and fair and really know their subject matter.

Categories Comments Campus Safety The campus has its own police station and is littered with police call boxes that call the police if they are opened or even hit too hard. The police station is open 24-7, so someone is always available. There are obvious campaigns against discrimination and hazing, and everyone seems to feel safe to express their ideas and beliefs freely. I very rarely feel any disease as far as my safety is concerned.
Greek Life I find it hard to comment not belonging to one of the groups myself, but there is definitely evidence of their presence. They seem to be very involved in school activity and the members love being members.
Clubs and Activities I have never seen so many groups in my life. Before coming to UWF, I had doubts about how many clubs there could actually be at a school. The commons is covered in plaques from different organizations of every size, kind, and purpose. Sports, academic, sorority, fraternity, discussion boards, you name it. There is a place for everyone. It really is really wonderful.
Great for these types of students People that love nature and community. Also people that love challenges and diversity.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus There are many sororities. God only knows.
Bang for the buck DEFINITELY. UWF was absolutely worth the time and hard work I put into trying to go there. I look forward to going back this year.
What to do for fun UWF is built on a nature reserve with a nature trail and water ways that many people like to canoe on. The athletics center has tennis courts, basketball courts, volleyball sand pits, baseball fields, open fields for soccer and miscellaneous sports, a fully stocked workout room, indoor track, indoor rock wall, several large gymnasiums, and a pool. The gyms are used by the many groups on campus, such as martial arts groups, the fencing club (which I am a member of), and the paintball club. The commons is located at the center of the college and is basically the colleges collective living room. You can borrow an Xbox or a PlayStation free of charge and play it with friends on one of the commons' huge TVs, hang out with friends on one of the many couches/tables, or play the piano. Right outside the commons is the Cannon Green, which is just a big patch of grass in front of the library, which is excellent for picnics or just relaxing in the sun on a Spring day. The school's many organizations are constantly coming up with events for students to have fun with, like the Open Mic Nights in the Argo Galley, Pool Battleship (where you try to sink enemy canoes in the pool with buckets full of pool water), and carnivals like the enormous CAB After Dark. The library has a multimedia room stocked with current movies, and Pensacola beach is only 15-20 minutes away.
Food and Dining Most students get their food from the Market, the central cafeteria. It's all you care to eat for 7 dollars, or you can get a meal plan and get several meals a week for a swipe of your student ID. If you eat at one of the restaurants on campus, the food is a little pricey, but depending on how hungry you are and even compared to some restaurants, the food is totally worth the price.
Dorm Life There are many different types of dorms on campus, from on-campus apartments to the cheaper Southside dorms, but all are excellent in my opinion. I live in a Southside, and apart from being small (which isn't even really that big of a deal), the dorms are excellent.
Academic Rigor The workload at UWF is definitely heavier than what I was used to when I transferred, but it was so worth it in the end.
Tips for prospective students The workload at UWF is a little heavier than some colleges, but not so much that you can't handle it. Just be sure to keep track of your grades and deadlines right from the start of the year and you will be fine and it will be very worth it.
In three sentences The University of West Florida has a beautiful campus, a friendly faculty and staff, and excellent and fast services available to its students. Most of the services (such as the library, polices station, on-campus restaurants, the commons, etc.) are open late if not around the clock and provide superb service, the teachers are highly skilled and most make appointments to work individually with students on issues, and the amount of spirit shown by everyone at the school through crazy and interesting school activities is unparallelled. I'm really glad I found UWF.

Great for these types of students People who want to learn Business and Science Major
Bang for the buck The school is cheap compared to most schools in Florida.
Food and Dining The food could be better, but compared to many colleges and high school food, it's not bad.
Dorm Life There are many activities and programs that occur in the residence halls.
Academic Rigor This school is centered around academics. Don't go here if you don't want to learn.
Tips for prospective students Attend class and study Listen to your proffesors and go to them for help. They are there to help you. Get involved on campus. It's a great way to make more friends.

Categories Comments Campus Safety There are cops in many areas on campus, as well as emergency buttons along the sidewalks to push if the student feels like they are in a dangerous situation.
Greek Life The Greek Life is small compared to the larger schools, but quickly growing. There are a lot more sorority girls than fraternity guys, and everyone is here for a good time.
Clubs and Activities There is a large student involvement on campus. Other than fraternities and sororities, there are also educational organizations and organizations that offer internships and help with classes.
Great for these types of students This is a great place for Engineering students. I enjoy the people I am surrounded by in class and the classes are fairly enjoyable with teachers that keep it interesting.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus The campus is famous for its Cannon Greens, located right outside of the food courts.
Bang for the buck For the price of the school, the educational aspect is great.
What to do for fun There are many organizations to become a part of and many students to socialize with. Pensacola offers a few clubs and a beach 30 minutes away from campus.
Food and Dining The food is decent at first, but as the school year carries on the food gets old and unappetizing.
Dorm Life Even though the dorms are small, they harbor a student-friendly environment where the students can meet and greet and become socially active. I would definitely recommend it for the first year of attendance.
Academic Rigor The classes aren't difficult if the students goes to class and pays attention. For entry-level students, minimal studying is required, but for the 3000 and 4000 classes a minimum of 5 hours a week outside of school studying is required for each class in order to do well.
Tips for prospective students The biggest tip for new or prospective students to UWF is to go to class. The teachers know their class personally because of the low student to teacher ratio, so they know if a student misses class. The teachers are much more willing to help students they see in class. Also, get involved with the social life on campus and join an organization.
In three sentences The University of West Florida harbors a great environment for learning and personal development. The Engineering program has a great new building that allows students in the engineering majors to conduct sophisticated conversations and discuss daily tasks and experiences. The UWF staff go out of their way to help students perform well and progress the students in academics, social life, and career fields.

Categories Comments Campus Safety It gets very dark on campus at night because is so much wooded area. However, there are blue call boxes all over campus and escorts are available 24-7. The UWF police department is very involved around campus and can be found at any time for assistance.
Greek Life Greek life is very active on campus and in the community. All greek housing is on campus which gives the school a very homey feeling.
Clubs and Activities I do not participate in any clubs but wish I had joined the Greek life.
Great for these types of students It is a great school for artistic or theatre students or anything in the field of psychology. The business department is also excellent. UWF is good for students who want a decently small school but still a bit of big school feel.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus The nature trail is lovely on a weekend afternoon to rent canoes or kayaks and pack a picnic lunch or between classes for a quick run or bike ride on the trails. Make sure you pack some stale bread for the turtles!
Bang for the buck UWF is a great school and you can really get a lot out of your experience here if you want to.
What to do for fun We have the most beautiful beach in the world!! Only about 20 minutes away, there is kayaking, paddle boarding, jet skiing, and lots of great food! We also have the Blue Angels show at the beach every July which is a BLAST! We also have a historic and quaint downtown with shopping and night life. We have a decent mall and also the Navy museum is very interesting.
Food and Dining The commons are delicious and there is other food options other places around campus- such as the gym, library, and game side of the commons. Off campus some food is close but if you don't have transportation, it may be necessary to have a meal plan for on-campus.
Dorm Life Dorm life is a BLAST! It is where you get to know the other freshman and can form study groups and friendships that will last a life time. After all, everyone around you is in the same boat as you are so it's easy to make friends!
Academic Rigor UWF is not an easy school per say. However, the professors are very willing to help those students who put forth the effort!
Tips for prospective students I recommend that students participate in greek life, religious clubs, SGA, the honors program or anything that will get them involved deeper into the university life. I also highly recommend that freshman live in the dorms because it is a great way to get to know other students and make the most of their college life! And lastly, I recommend that students form a relationship with their teachers because you never know what kinds of help they can provide you with later--even after graduation!
In three sentences University of West Florida is a small but growing school in the beautiful North West florida. It is placed in the center of a nature preserve which provides lots of woods and lakes for canoeing or kayaking. The classes are small enough that you really get to know your teachers and faculty and other students.

Categories Comments What to do for fun Every week there is something going on here, from lectures by interesting people, to concerts on the green in front of the library. My door is plastered every week with an event list. The gym is free(and has a rock climbing wall!), and you can even rent canoes and kayaks for free if you are a student. This place is very fitness and activity based. Just join in and have a good time!
Food and Dining The food is a step up from high school, and the staff is absolutely excellent as far as customer service goes. Unfortunately, little things such as dishes that aren't properly cleaned, over cooked food, and an out of date dish return make the dining area a bit undesirable. Luckily, this campus has several other nice dining options.
Dorm Life Before I start on this, remember that I live in the oldest dorm on campus, so I cannot speak for the other halls. Here, in Southside, I have a family-environment, with a very friendly RA and dorm-mates. However, the room is very small and uncomfortable, with one window that hardly lets any light in. It's very drafty and I can hear whenever someone in another room flushes a toilet. There is almost no privacy- I can hear all of my dorm-mates' conversations.
Academic Rigor My general classes are hardly much of a change from high school. Simply pay attention, take good notes, and study a couple hours a week and you should have no problems passing. Most teachers are very willing to work with you!
Tips for prospective students Give the staff as much respect as they give to you! Also, try to map out your classes before the first day - this campus is large, but after a few days you'll be able to get around just fine. Most importantly, know exactly where you can and cannot park! It can be a bit of a hassle to find a spot, but be patient and understand that you may not get to park 10 feet from you classroom door.
In three sentences UWF has very friendly, engaging faculty. The campus is absolutely beautiful. I always feel invited everywhere I go on campus.

Categories Comments Greek Life GO GREEK! It's the best experience I have ever had. Truly life changing.
What to do for fun I got involved on campus, I pledged a sorority and have been involved in intermural sports, its just my freshman year, you have to start somewhere.
Food and Dining The food and dining at UWF are just like any other school. It might not be like moms cooking but it is still decent.
Dorm Life The dorm life here is much better than most campuses in the sense that you have your own bathrooms and the most people you will ever have living in one room is three.
Academic Rigor Classes at UWF are not hard as long as you put in the time and commitment.
Tips for prospective students Go to class. Do your work. Get Involved.
In three sentences The University of West Florida is a wonderful, beautiful campus! Just under 15,000 students, including the new 2012 freshman class and the classes are still relatively small.

Categories Comments Bang for the buck The University is still growing to a bigger and better campus due to more students wanting to attend. The addition of a Football stadium and more classrooms to become more involved with the school.
What to do for fun There are nature trails, rivers that you can Kayak on and an inside pool open to all students. Also a three story gym that includes yoga, kickboxing and rock climbing classes. Many Soroities and Fraternities to connect with friends.
Food and Dining Main dining hall is set for any craving a student has. many other little fast food places on campus, evven a Starbucks!
Dorm Life Different dorms to choose from, sharing doubles or single rooms. Apartments also on campus.
Academic Rigor The school has a variety of majors to choose from!
Tips for prospective students Use the five story library to your advanage!

Categories Comments Campus Safety The campus police seem to be patrolling at all times. I feel safe here, even walking around at night. They have police call boxes all over campus in case of emergencies.
Clubs and Activities There are so many clubs on campus. It makes it so that there is always something to do here.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus The Lucky Cannon comes to mind, stop by the Cannon Greens in the center of campus and put a penny in the cannon for good luck on exams.
Bang for the buck Overall I believe that this school is worth the money. Yeah it still seems pricey but colleges aren't cheap, and UWF seems worth it.
What to do for fun The campus has quite a bit to do. My friends and I walk the nature trail, go the the new gym (which is quite nice), swim at the campus pool, and the off campus we: go to the beach, go tubing in the river, clubbing, and so much more.
Food and Dining What to say about the food here...it is edible. For the most part I can't complain about the food offered on campus. There are several options for food, and it is ok most of the time. There are plans for more eating establishments on campus and I look forward to those changes.
Dorm Life For the most part the dorm life it alright. It takes some getting used to. I have lived in two of the designs here, and they are expanding to make more dorms. The experience has been good for me, I believe.
Academic Rigor I am part of the University's Honors Program. This program is quite amazing. The Honors courses are much more in depth but seem to be worth it. The regular classes are good too, this school seems to have thing figured out.
In three sentences I truly love the campus here; nature trails, trees, and so many student activities. Overall this school is great, they are constantly working to improve things here. I am very glad that I made the decision to go here!

Categories Comments Campus Safety Average.
Clubs and Activities There is definitely not a shortage of clubs on campus. Some are better than others.
Bang for the buck Overall, UWF is a school that is competitively priced.
What to do for fun Honestly, there aren't many fun activities in Pensacola. There are activities on campus which may be fun sometimes. Other times, play computer games or talk with friends.
Food and Dining 2 stars because most of it is food. I say most because unfortunately, margarine is sometimes used in the food. The main eatery on campus is the Nautilus Market, where food is kept on a steam table. Expect vegetables to be overcooked and mushy by the end of the day. Other food items may hold up better in the steam tables. Prices are a little high for what you get, but you are paying for convenience I guess.
Dorm Life At UWF, they call them Residence Halls. They are alright overall. But be warned, if one resident decides to be mischievous and steal or break something in your residence hall building and no one confesses, everyone gets charged.
Academic Rigor Courses may start out easy, but after the general education requirements, the higher level courses are more challenging.
Tips for prospective students 1) If you are going to be living on campus, you may have been told to bring quarters do to laundry. Each load you do costs $2 ($1 to wash and $1 to dry). If you don't have quarters, you can also load money onto your student ID card and use that method of payment. 2) Buy your textbooks online. Oftentimes, even if the instructor requires the book, it won't be required to bring it to class. In these cases, you can just buy the ebook format of the book for even less. 3) Just to clear up any confusion, UWF is not on the beach. Pensacola beach is 15-20 minutes away by car.
In three sentences The University of West Florida (UWF) provides the experience you would expect from a public university in Florida. With a wide variety of available majors, they likely offer the one you are pursuing. Furthermore, the cost of attending this school is relatively cheap compared with the rest of the state.

Categories Comments Campus Safety the campus is on a wildlife preserve, so it is very peaceful. it is kept well-lit and there are safety stations all throughout the campus.
Clubs and Activities there's pretty much a club for anything (even a world of warcraft club). and if there's not one you want, you can just make your own!
Great for these types of students self-motivated interested in the honors program
Bang for the buck i believe that i am learning so much more here than i would at a bigger, more prestigious school, just because of how personalized it is. as a bonus... it's so much cheaper!
What to do for fun the beaches are beautiful. there are hiking trails on campus (you can rent a canoe as well). the gym is free for students and has everything--workout equipment, an indoor track, indoor pool, all types of courts, and even a rock climbing wall. the city has all of the basics: movie theaters, bowling allies, etc (most of which have promotions or discounts for uwf students).
Food and Dining the food is as expected: not the best, but there's enough variety to get by no matter who you are (trust me, i'm the most picky of them all!)
Dorm Life it was cheerful and there was something always going on, from xbox parties, to movie nights, to board games. i was in the tamest of halls, though: the honors dorm, pace hall.
Academic Rigor most uwf classes aren't extremely challenging, but you learn quickly which professors are. the most rigorous professors i've come across are those in the english department.
Tips for prospective students if you are self-motivated and love the idea of extra room to learn and grow, this school is for you. while it may not be of the highest academic standing, it is perfectly designed to make the best use of what it has. it's professors may not be quite as talented as some from bigger schools; however, you can learn so much more from them because you can talk to them, get to know them, join in discussion, and ask questions. you really get to know your professors, which can be great for all sorts of reasons (including recommendation letters!) the class sizes are what makes the school.
In three sentences (because there is no where else i can see to put this, i will complain here: why can i not capitalize things? this is a horrible bug. this is killing me!) this school has an amazing honors program that can and will prepare you for graduate school. the class sizes are perfect and small. the campus is small enough to make it easy to get around.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Never procrastinate..As a freshmen straight out of high school I was over whelmed by the freedom i was getting..Be careful with who you hang with and trust yourself and God only!
Tips for prospective students Tip: TALK TALK AND TALK TO YOUR PROFESSORS!! Get to know them you will be soo suprised how your grade is an automatic A at the end of the semester!
Bang for the buck It is super amazing how many things you are allowed to attend free! Basketball games and soo much more. The tuition was cheap to me in comparison to the many things you are allowed to do..
Am enjoying being here The campus is amazing!!! There are so many things on campus to do! Talent shows, dances, movie nights, and much more are offered often. Also the gym is sooo wonderful not to mention the classes such as dancing. Ballroom dancing is cool. In addition, you can learn Karate and hey if you are a zumba, yoga, or pilates fan? Did someone say FREE! :)
Am learning a lot I love many of the teachers here! Some teaches in very unique ways and you can always make it fun for yourself!

Categories Comments Great for these types of students If you're not the most economically stable individual, this university provides the tuition, room, and boarding at a reasonable cost. If you don't have transportation, the trolley is able to provide a ride on campus and, also, off campus where you have access to Target, Publix, and other stores around that area.
Tips for prospective students The University of West Florida is the kind of college where you would find easy to settle in and call it home.
Bang for the buck The expenses aren't too drastic. It's just the right amount for me, and I am paying for my college education by myself. I'm not even worried about how to pay for tuition next year!
Am enjoying being here The resident halls, the student area, the classes... there's nothing that could go wrong! The resident hall I am in is the best home I can ever be knowing almost everyone in the building. The student area (Commons) is a common lounging area where there are tables and chairs, an area where you can watch tv or play piano, and the dining halls. There can be varieties of classroom settings from a small room to a large auditorium depending on what you prefer. There is always a great balance.
Am learning a lot The classes I'm taking are pretty engaging if I do say so myself! One particular class I'd like to point out is music experience: film music which we learn how to listen to music in famous movies! I have never fallen asleep in that class and that's saying something when the class is at 8:30 in the morning.

Will learn a lot Based on the few classes I got to sit on, I can tell that I will learn a lot here.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students UWF is great for students don't care about popularity contests or football. This is a place for students that truly want to learn and thrive in a safe environment. If you didn't do so well in high school, but you really want to try harder, this is the place for you!
Tips for prospective students Make sure you keep in close contact with the offices of UWF, they're not very good at contacting you first, so always call them first and be assertive! Also, be sure to buy a parking decal immediately! You don't want to get a ticket on your first day of school for not having a decal. They recently raised the prices of their tickets, and the campus police are not afraid to give them out!
Bang for the buck UWF recently raised their class and housing prices, at the same time Bright Futures lowered their scholarship money. So it's much pricier than it was before. But as long as you can afford the extra cash they require, it's not that bad.
Am enjoying being here I absolutely love the campus. It is very green and beautiful, and great for walking with friends. It's conveniently located close to the mall, but still far enough away to be away from the traffic and the noise. The only downside to the campus is parking, there is never enough, and often you will have to drive all the way to the end of campus to find a spot, unless you get their early enough. If you have early classes, it will be no problem at all. If not, you'll just have to bring your walking shoes!
Am learning a lot The teachers in my major are EXTREMELY dedicated to their craft. Thanks to small class sizes, I get to experience the best the professor has to offer and the best of my peers.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students People who want to get to know their professors and not just be a number in huge class. It's great for business, science, and art majors. If you are a nature lover you will love this campus as well.
Tips for prospective students Find a club or extracurricular activity you are interested in. Explore the nature trails, visit the art center, see one of the theartre productions, and do well in your studies!
Bang for the buck BANG! The money is worth it. The facilities are well kept for the most part. The equipment is up to date and easily accessible. For instance the gym has a very nice rock wall to climb and they have several computer labs with brand new technology.
Am enjoying being here Being a student at UWF has become the most exciting part of my life! If you utilize UWF's facilities and programs you will have lots of fun. For example, the Recreation Department has great deals on out door trips close to home and out of state. Most of the students and faculty are very friendly. The classes are small to medium sized so it's easy to make friends. It's nature orientated with lots of trails and even a river you can canoe and kayak on for free!
Am learning a lot So far I have not had any bad instructors. They all seem to know their subjects and have no problems sharing their knowledge with their students.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students I believe everyone who come here can love this place as much as I have. Getting involved and trying are key elements to any new experience and I know I have experienced it.
Tips for prospective students BE INVOLVED, no matter what, whether it be going Greek (I did TKE), doing sports (HLS building/Wrestling for me), campus events (see CAB) changing the school for the better (see SGA) or academics (for me they are Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society, Chi Alpha Epsilon Honor Society and hopefully soon the Psychology Honor Society Psi Chi). And there are plenty more events and organizations to be apart of, trust me!
Bang for the buck UWF IS THE CHEAPEST UNIVERSITY IN FLORIDA!
Am enjoying being here I do enjoy living on campus and interacting with everything that is happening on campus. I feel that to enjoy the real college experience it is to live on campus. Their is always something going on campus or in the residence hall buildings. I feel that UWF has geared themselves in enabling students to find productive event to attend and be apart of. Although UWF may be a small school I have always found something to do on campus or off like going to the beach (which is a big thing to do), go to the mall, eat at several places that are affordable, and of course the movies.
Am learning a lot I am majoring in Psychology and UWF has been the best choice for me. I have learned items already that I have had to use in a personal situation and work related situation. UWF allows students to get to know the campus, its classes, and its professors. Unlike bigger colleges and universities UWF is a small school, however, it does allow for a better advantage of having one on one time with the professors. All of my professors know me by name and that can be beneficial in the long run because it can help with class work and also for recommendation letters as well. The general classes may at times be easy to handle, however, the general classes are what prepares everyone for their major classes. And when it comes to the major classes it will get hard, however, lucky for the students at UWF the professors are there to help and they really are because I am proof of it.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Any student who enjoy nature, low student:faculty ratio, and oppertunites in applying lectures to real life
Tips for prospective students I highly, highly recommend e-mailing and meeting up with the professors during their office hours. It can really make a difference! I also recommend that you talk to your majors' advisors. They can help keep you on track and prevent potentially costly detours.
Bang for the buck I do not have much experience in the cost to education analysis, but I can definitely tell you that UWF is an excellent choice given what I know. The tuition fee is relatively low and, as mentioned before, you can learn a LOT(!) with tons of oppertunities to use it in the real world.
Am enjoying being here I am definitely loving it here. The friends that I've met here will last for a lifetime and the campus itself is extremely beautiful. Trees and flowers are everywhere and there is even a nature trail with animals all around for those who are nature inclinced.
Am learning a lot The teachers here are extremely nice and willing to help you! The class sizes are relatively small compared to other colleges and that allow them to know you on a face-to-face basis if you let them! So far, I'm learning so much here-- the opportunities available is really amazing!

Categories Comments Great for these types of students The University of West Florida is GREAT for students who love the outdoors, and a tidy community. You'll get to know the people you're going to be in class with MONTHS before you actually start school, which is really helpful for transitioning from high school to college. There's nothing to be afraid of.
Tips for prospective students - Whatever you do, get to class on time. From personal experience, you can miss A LOT of information, even if you're just 5 minutes late. In those 5 minutes, the professor could be telling the class what that day's lesson was going to be about. When you walk in later, you're disturbing the rest of the class, and then you have to ask one of your classmates what the professor is talking about, further disrupting the learning environment. - BE ACTIVE! Get down and dirty with the University activities. It doesn't matter whether you just like standing on the sidelines and watching, or being proactive, just GO. That's the best way to get to know the peers you're going to be in class with throughout the years, and possibly graduate with. I doubt they'll bite; just get in the game. - USE YOUR PROFESSORS! Talk to them; they will listen. GO to their office hours; they're there for you. Ask them questions; that's the only why you'll find out the REAL answers. They are being paid to help you succeed, so take advantage of the opportunity.
Bang for the buck This University really is the cheapest on in Florida. The staff members are nice, as are the students. And the campus is GORGEOUS and is located on a 1,600 acre wildlife preservation! There's no bigger bang for one's buck than it is at this University. You can drive 30 minutes south and be on one of the most beautiful beaches in the Panhandle. Really, REALLY a bang for your buck!
Will enjoy being here I love being outside. When I first visited the UWF campus, I was swept away. I regret not coming to this University last year. If you love to be outdoors, or biking, or birds, then you will ABSOLUTELY love it here. The vivid greens of the campus will take your breath away every day. It's really an amazing place to wake up in, if you live on campus.
Will learn a lot If you love learning, then you will love it at UWF. You can even study outside under a tree with your toes in the grass. UWF is THE place to be.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Students who are willing to work for their education and love having a little fun when they want to.
Tips for prospective students Do your work, come to class, pay attention, and you'll do find. When you get to class talk to the teachers make sure they know you so that when you have a problem that's when they seeing your face for the first time. Go to class on time and be prepare.
Bang for the buck I really think am getting my money worth. The classes I paid for am learning a lot from. There isn't a class that I took and regret taking it.
Am enjoying being here I love this school. There's different cultures. The teachers and the students are cool. Half of the kids go party the same place. Its a pretty nice looking school. I enjoy the quietness of the town. There's always something to do though.
Am learning a lot The school is great I learn a different thing evertytime I go to class. The teachers challenge you to make sure that you are getting something out the class. Its nothing like high school if you a miss a day thats a day that going to come back and haunt you.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Anyone who is looking for a great college experience. The beach is 15 minutes away!
Tips for prospective students Take good notes so you can review like crazy when finals come around. Don't be afraid to ask questions, and DEFINITELY go to review sessions.
Bang for the buck With the exception of the University Bookstore, most things on campus are either reasonably priced or free. I suggest buying your books elsewhere. Amazon.com has free shipping on textbooks, so look there first!
Am enjoying being here I love UWF. The campus is beautiful, the people are nice, and the learning environment is exactly what I want: small class sizes in nice facilities.
Am learning a lot With a strong high-school-education foundation, college allows professors to really expand on certain subjects. I am learning so much more because the course material is specific to your major.

Tips for prospective students Get involved in some kind of activity on campus. There are many clubs and intramural sports going on all year long. Not only will you have a great time doing the activities you will meet tons of people!
Bang for the buck I feel that I have gotten my moneys worth out of UWF. Not only are the classes resonable but most classes are close enough to walk so you don't have to waste gas driving to your next class.
Am enjoying being here I enjoy the the campus very much. It is gorgeous. Being able to walk through the campus seeing many native Floridan plants is a plus to those stressful mid-term and finals weeks. There is plenty to do in the city of Pensacola also.
Am learning a lot All of my course have been challenging and interesting. I have learned so much in three short semesters I have attended. The teachers are great and help when ever possible. Also there are many place to get help with homework or tutoring!

Categories Comments Great for these types of students You definitely need to be self-disciplined because it can be extremely tempting to just forget about class and head off to the beach or chill with your friends.
Tips for prospective students The counseling center is helpful, as is the career center. It'd be wise to make use of both, especially the career center.
Bang for the buck UWF is an extremely cheap school, which is always beneficial. The campus is beautiful and all the buildings are completely original. You never feel like your on another perfectly cut lawn, with perfectly trimmed bushes, etc. Again, the teachers really help you out. All you have to do is ask.
Am enjoying being here I've lived in the panhandle of Florida my whole life, so it only makes sense that I'm growing tired of it. The beach is about 15-20 minutes away, and that is where most of the students hang out.
Am learning a lot Once you push through your general studies courses, you really do learn quite a bit, but it's extremely difficult going through the basics again. I suppose this is true for any college though. Other than that, the teachers are helpful and kind. They make sure you get what they're teaching you.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students West Florida has a diverse population of students. We are goal oriented, campus based. Some athletics allot of research buffs.
Tips for prospective students Know what you want in a school before applying. If your looking for a Rah Rah party campus West Florida is not for you. We are academically oriented with some partying.
Bang for the buck I researched most Florida public universities before applying. The University of West Florida was my number 1 pick. It has small student body, close to the coast, the cost for tuition and books reasonable. The cost of housing was higher than most but location, the sense of security and welcoming atmosphere overrides that cost.
Am enjoying being here I love the campus. I feel safe. The campus sits on a nature perserve. It has numerous nature trails, this campus is environmentally oriented and beautiful. I feel welcomed and have joined several campus organizations. If you need help writing labs and study lab centers are readily available.
Am learning a lot I love this school. The teachers are welcoming and helpful and willing to work with you. The resource center has an open door. This school wants your attendance and treats you like family.

Tips for prospective students -Go to class, a lot of people I know like to skip and ask me why they failed at the end of the semester. -Pay attention, just sitting in class won't make you learn, you have to LISTEN to what the professor says -Get involved on campus, whether it be by going Greek, working with CAB, or helping some other way.
Bang for the buck UWF is the CHEAPEST university in Florida.
Am enjoying being here I love it at UWF!! I love the small population, and knowing most everybody who I walk by. And the fact that we're on a nature preserve is amazing itself.

Bang for the buck The college is well thought out and is a relatively small campus. Most of the classes are located near or around the dorms and are within a ten min walk from any part of campus.
Am enjoying being here Pensacola is a very nice town. Being from a large city, Pensacola is a nice change from the hustle and bustle of city life.

Tips for prospective students This school is great for students who are interested in learning from a diverse population of teachers. The advising center is highly helpful in getting you on the right path and picking the classes you really need. I love the campus being so spread out and enriched with nature in every direction. Class size is relatively small, providing a more one on one feeling with teachers and students. You know people in your class and can feel comfortable asking a teacher for help. The staff is very friendly and it is a casual setup. Great school for those looking into Business or Science.
