Warning there's not much transportation going north of Kirksville. My family and I were incredibly frustrated on how I would get home. The campus and academics are GREAT, but location and town not so much. You definitely have to be willing to travel for something fun or new to do. If you are looking for an up kept small town, this is not it. This college comes with many positives, but also a few negatives-like any college. Overall I loved the school, but hated the location.

Take the tour, you won't regret it. This was a very informative tour, and no other school came close to presenting their school as well. If you are considering Nursing, this program offers all you could ask for.

Make sure that you are actually interested in what you study, otherwise you will not be happy with the rigor of the university. The campus is predominantly white; so if that is an issue for you, you can do one of two things: Come to Truman and join the diversity efforts or Don't come to Truman.

Apply early! Even though Truman is incredibly cheap, you are highly likely to get financial aid for a decent test score. In fact, everyone automatically gets a scholarship based on GPA and ACT/SAT scores. Although Kirksville is not my favorite place, Truman is a good school and a great value!
