While Kirksville may be small there are still fun things to do on campus and around town. I would highly recommend joining clubs or other campus organizations.

Hanging out with friends in the dorm lounges, making international friends, going out to Thousands Hills State Park, hiking, star gazing at the train bridge, relaxing at the quad and many more!

This is very subjective. I am into sports, so I would recommend either doing a varsity sport if you can, or try out for a club sport or intramurals. This is a great way to meet others with similar interests as you. Sporting events are fun! Volleyball and basketball games are very fun to watch because there is typically a student section inside Pershing, which is energetic. All sporting events are fun to watch in their own way and any support is welcomed/appreciated. The Rec Center is a good place to go to for your fitness needs. If you don't plan on doing a sport, you could do Greek Life. There are many organizations (service, professional, social, etc.). There is almost always some sort of Greek Life party being thrown on the weekend, if you're looking to go out. There are plenty of fast food places, a movie theater, bowling alley, bars (for you legal people). Although there isn't a lot to do compared to state schools like Mizzou, Iowa, Iowa State, etc., there is stuff to do if you create the opportunity. Hang out with friends in a dorm room, dorm lounge, friend's house off-campus, go to an event sponsored by SAB... the limit does not exist (be creative).

truman supplies many wonderful options for students to take part in during the weekend. there are many concerts by the wind symphonies, orchestra, multitude of ensembles through the truman state music department. in addition to concerts, there are excellent drama productions for students to see. truman's student activities board is given $300,000 to put on a multitude of events for the year, such as a andy grammar concert, several guest comedians, and many more activities to catch a students attention. besides the other fun stuff, most tts (typical truman students) like to spend some weekends studying to perform well on their exams!

There is not much here for fun. Truman is NOT a party school and life there reflects it. If you go out to party on the weekends, expect it to feel like the same parties in the same spots with the same people going, all weekend, every weekend. The bars can be fun, but you have to be 21... Thousand Hills State Park is fun once or twice but gets old very quickly.

There are lots of fun things to do on campus. I recommend you join a sorority or fraternity. Be aware that it is tons of work to join one though, I wish someone would have told me that. If you don't want to join something, there are lots of random on campus fun things to do. There are normally movies in the SUB as well and Fireside Fridays and at least one famous person comes to our campus (Andy Grammer is an example)

Kirksville is a very small city and the surrounding areas are pretty much just as boring. However, it is what you make of it. Most of downtown is walkable and only 3 minutes away and there are cute little thrift stores and cafes there. If you're going to college to party, Truman is not the place. If you are coming for an education, Kirksville is dealable.

I am not a very exciting person, so I can't say that I know. Groups on campus hold concerts and lots of interesting shows. Oktoberfest was just the other day, with endless rootbeer for a dollar and great entertainment. There's not a lot to do around town, as Kirksville's pretty small, but there are a lot of groups and interesting things going on around campus, so I'd say there's plenty to do.

The town that Truman is located in, Kirksville, also has a large state park called Thousand Hills. There is hiking, biking, canoeing and kayaking, picnic areas, and playgrounds. Kirksville also has many restaurants and a few shopping stores. .
