    Just like going to any college, I would recommend being yourself. Though that might've been hard in high school, college campuses are larger and you will find your group and your niche - but only if you're true to yourself. Also, DO get off campus often and explore the local (safe) neighborhoods. There is always something to do in New Orleans, and I promise you will find so many interesting things by having an open mind.

    -focus on your community service and volunteer experiences, tulane really loves to see students engaged with their community -a high gpa and sat/act score is guaranteed to get you great merit aid, so keep up your grades to attend a top school without going horribly into debt -really work on time management skills. there are so many things to do every day on campus and in the city and you have to take a step back and remember why you are there in the first place-to get an education
