    Campus Safety

One of the safest cities I have ever been in.

    Clubs and Activities

    Club for anyone and everyone

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

Freshers Week Arthur's Seat Climbs (Especially for Bonfires Night) Hoagmanay There is a 200 point moose head mounted on a wall in the student union; any student capable of stealing the moose and moving it more than one mile from the union will be honored with a plaque.

    Bang for the buck

As an international student, the price is much cheaper than school out-of-state back home. The accommodation is overpriced, and there are far too many reading weeks during which lectures could be given, but is mostly worth every penny.

    Food and Dining

Eating out in the city is fantastic; however, the meal hall is laughably bad some nights. Have ordered pizza more than a few times....

    Dorm Life

Nearly a third of the University is made up of international students, so the networking capabilities are endless. Students in halls will find it easy to make fast friends and each block is small enough to ensure those from similar programs will have peer support. The food is severely lacking though, and the rooms are not entirely worth the extremely high price.

    Academic Rigor

The difficulty of the programme is entirely self-defined. Students will get out of each lecture exactly what they put into it. No attendance is taken, tutors will ensure success only if students show genuine effort. Tests and exercises are usually incredibly strenuous.

    Tips for prospective students

Ensure to focus on grades--No matter how good your personal statement might be, you're not getting in without good grades. If an international applicant, take AP or IB classes, they'll nearly guarantee you a spot.

    In three sentences

A perfect school for those wishing to dive directly into their major. Great city, fantastic social scene, but quiet enough for introverted students to stay in. Friendly staff, a few incredible lecturers, and world-renowned academic programme.
